Our trip to Perth We embarked on a journey to Perth in January with the intention to learn more about the sustainability of water. In a nutshell, we have discovered several similarities between Singapore and Perth. Both areas have different strengths and generally, Singapore is more advanced in terms of water purification technology while Perth is doing better in water conservation for their citizens. We realised that both countries still have a lot to learn about one another with regards to their sustainability of water.

From our trip, our group has derived some insights on the methods adopted by Perth and Singapore to cope with their water challenges. The following lists some on our insights generated: Perth • Water restrictions are imposed on its
citizens during the dry months • Citizens play their part in conserving water
as they understand the important role they have
• Some residents collect rainwater and subsequently filter it, using it for daily activities
Singapore • NEWater technology is accepted by
citizens as one of the ways to increase the available water supply
