Principal’s CornerThe school board recently voted in favor of applying for the Maine Department of Education’s Revolving
Renovation Fund loan to cover the $292,000 cost of installing air handlers at Prescott to improve air quality. The MDOE will issue the awards on February 1, 2016. If we do not receive this grant, we will explore other options of funding.
The Book Fair and Ice cream social was a big success this week. Many thanks to Sherry Casas for organizing this great opportunity and to Amiee Gess, Mary Ledger, Michele Dostie and Cris Casas for serving up delicious ice cream sundaes! Thank you families for purchasing books to help support our school!
We had a visit from some members of the Knox County Educators Association this week. These ladies came loaded with school supplies, playground balls and jump ropes for the students at Prescott Memorial School. Each year, the group gathers donations for a school in Knox County and we were fortunate to be chosen this year. We are very grateful for this wonderful display of generosity from our former educators. Two of these ladies, Hazel Kopishke and Carolyn Rasmussen taught several years here at Prescott. Thank you!
Our school has been invited to be part of a new program to supply extra food for weekends for families who might like to have it. Information sheets and family letters were sent home this week with students. Please sign the form on the back of the letter and return it to school whether or not you want to be included, so we’ll know you received this letter. We’d like forms returned by Oct. 2nd. If you have any questions, please call the school at 845-2424.
