This course is designed to introduce students to a wide variety of multimedia content through web design,

computer graphics, photography, animation, and video. It will serve as the foundational course to the Arts, Media,

and Entertainment pathway.

Course Title: Multimedia Production I

I. Course Goals and/or Major Student Outcomes:

1. Students will learn to use current technologies and software to produce multimedia

products relevant today

2. Students will learn to solve complex challenges and situations by leveraging their

understanding of multimedia tools

This course will help students develop fundamental skills in digital photography. Topics on camera operation, photography composition, lighting, and digital image editing will be covered. Furthermore, topics such as macro, portraiture, still life, indoor/outdoor, sports, HDR photography will be studied.

Assignment Description

1. A-Z Photography Students will capture images that represent the letters from A-Z.

2. Composition Project Students will photograph and produce several photos that exemplify several photographic composition rules and present their finding and work.

3. Published Layout Students will use Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and their photography to design and create a magazine like spread.

4. Advance Retouching Students will find and prepare several portrait photos they have taken and retouch them using Adobe Photoshop.

5. Career Photography Students will plan and design a fictitious photography business.

6. On Location Portraiture Students plan and execute a portrait shoot outside of a studio setting. Students will have to determine the proper way to light the scene and compose their work their ideas.

7. Portfolio Students will prepare an online and physical portfolio showcasing their best work. Students will present and explain the methodology of their photos as well as analyze and explain the growth they have made.

This course is designed to provide a project based visual media program, which guides students in visual arts and career technical training, by providing students with technical instruction and practical experiences for aspiring video and film makers in the production of film, video and new media projects for business and entertainment.

Course Title: Multimedia Production II -Video I. Course Goals and/or Major Student Outcomes:

1. Students will learn to use current technologies and software to produce digital video content

Assignment Description

1. Equipment Students will be tested on their understanding and knowledge of how to use the video equipment along with establishing various types of shots.

2. Storyboarding Students will create a storyboard and shoot a short using the views as demonstrated from their drawings.

3. Scriptwriting Students will create a script for a short dialogue. 4. Over the Shoulder

Dialogue Students will take their script and film a short 2-3 minute dialogue.

5. Visual Effects Students will have to use motion tracking in After Effects to incorporate objects in video.

6. Movie Trailer Students will direct, produce, and film a trailer using a storyboard, script, and visual effects

7. Action Sequence Students will direct, produce, and film a short action sequence.

8. Murder Mystery Students will create a short film based on a murder mystery theme.
