It is a huge achievement to represent your state and a great honour. Well done Brady, we all wish you a great deal of fun and success. Minasan, Konnichiwa Our Branch Out Tour of Japan is over after 2 amazing weeks visiting our Sister School and many other sights and destinations. I cant say how impressed I am with our touring students and the manner in which they represented our school, their families and of course themselves. Many great adventures were enjoyed, and lasting friendships have been forged on our tour. It is exciting to see our tourists sharing their experiences with students back home at Warranwood and giving other students many insights to the cultural under- standings gained. Safety for young people and how to discuss it without creating worry. Please discuss with your children the importance of walking in pairs and communicating their whereabouts to parents. Reiterate with them to not approach cars under any circumstances. Please ensure students are not left alone after school pick up times and that you contact the office should you be running late so we can col-lect them and keep them under supervision at the office until you arrive. As a community please keep our eyes and ears alert to any suspicious behaviours and report anything to police. Prep Info Night and Welcome to Warranwood We held a most successful meeting to welcome the parents of our Prep class of 2019 last night. It was great to meet so many eager faces and excited parents! I am delighted to announce our Prep team for 2019; Dee Chadwick, Anne Donoghue, Natasha Walden and Liz Fragiacomo. We welcomed our new preppies this morning for their first taste of school as they joined in some fun activities to meet new classmates and explore their new school surrounds. While students were playing parents took up the chance to meet others and have a cuppa together in the library. Middle School Production -Beauty and The Beast Monday night was a huge success with our talented and capable year 3/4's wowing everyone with their sing-ing, dancing and acting skills to present two incredible shows. The humour, dedication and skill demonstrated was a great credit to the students and of course Jacinta! The night was so impressive and will be sure to hold a lasting place in students’ fondest memories of their primary school education. Thanks to Jeenah, Kane, par-ent helpers and the PA Captains for helping with props to make the show great. Special thanks of course to Jacinta for her amazing talents in having our students perform at such an incredible level.

Congratulations on the Warranwood Grant Project being selected. We will now go back to providers and ask for confirmed scope of works and quotes. I will attend a meeting regarding how to handle the project and the steps involved. It would be really be helpful if we could find a knowledgeable parent who could project man-age this upgrade project. We are currently scheduled to meet twice before the end of the School year; discussion on whether this is necessary. We will meet at this stage on Tuesday 4th December 2018 unless there is an urgent need for an-other meeting. Shane unveiled the sample sports top for Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 students. The next working bee is scheduled for Sunday 18th November and this will continue the work building retain-ers surrounding the Senior School building, plus cleaning of gutters and a general tidy up around the school including mulching and sand pit topping up. Brady Cochrane- Congratulations! We will hold a fundraiser to assist with the costs of National Champion-ships participation. Next meeting on 4th December Shane Harrop Principal

Assistant Principal's Report NEW FAMILIES TO INCLUDE IN OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND TRANSITION PROCE-DURES FOR 2019: It was a pleasure to meet, greet and welcome new families to the Warranwood community this week as we began our transition process for the 2019 Prep group. Last night the new Prep team including Dee Chadwick (leader of the team) Anne Donoghue, Natasha Walden and Liz Fragiacomo presented to the parents and in-formed them of the different expectations we have for the students and families when they begin school next year. Today the students were involved in their first transition session and what a pleasure it was to see them so settled and ready for school! Thanks to Suzie Smith for providing a smooth handover with the new team and starting off the proceedings. Just so you are aware this transition process will continue with the whole school on the following dates where the students will experience being in a new level of the school with different students and teachers. The dates include Thursday 8th November from 9.15-11.00, Tuesday 13th November from 11.45-1.30, Wednesday 28th November between 9.15 and 11.00 and finally Tuesday 11th December between 11.30 and 1.30. Following are some of the main purposes behind the transition process we follow at Warranwood Primary School. 1.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT A common question, what is rubbish and what is recycling? Here is a quick quiz that will help https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-07-18/quiz-what-is-rubbish-what-is-recycling/9999690 Remember general waste is landfilled without sorting. Recyclables are a resource that we need to preserve. It’s important we reduce our waste because “Today’s landfills must not leave an unacceptable environmental legacy for our children to address.” – quote EPA. If in doubt about what can be recycled look it up on https://recyclingnearyou.com.au
