A Newsletter for Members and Friends of
Wallingford Community Senior Center APRIL, MAY,
JUNE 2019
Warm Welcomes & Fond Farewells
The amazing cadre of staff and interns at WCSC are the heart and hands of this organization. Let’s meet some
new additions to the team and bid adieu to those who are moving on.
Allie is our new program assistant, hired in January. Please welcome her as she oversees daily operations at
the front desk and handles communications and marketing!
Kristen is a new social work intern from UW. She will be at the senior center on Mondays this quarter to
assist with some groups and catalogue housing resources. Come say hello!
Zaryn will be finishing up his UW social work internship later this spring. He has been here twice a week
since October, seeing clients individually and also helping us with information technology. We’ll miss him!
Bob is retiring at the end of March after 19 years as our kitchen coordinator. He is WCSC’s longest-standing
employee and has served under 5 executive directors! After a career in the restaurant business, working at
WCSC enabled Bob to continue to pursue his passion for cooking while still being there for his three kids
when they came home from school each day. We’ve all enjoyed Bob’s delicious cooking over the years and
we’ll miss him very much! We hope you can join us for a farewell party for him on April 5! See page 6 for the
details. Nola will be temporarily taking over while we seek
to hire a new permanent kitchen coordinator.
Please welcome our new personnel
and say farewell to those who are
moving on. Whether they’ve
served for 19 years or just
came on board a couple of
weeks ago, we appreciate
everyone’s dedication to
our mission to welcome,
connect, and support
older adults in our
community.
Best,
Claire Petersky
Executive Director

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES
City of Seattle Aging and Disability Services (ADS) has new data reporting rules. All senior centers must now
provide ADS information about each participant and the services they use. We expect King County will have
similar rules in their funding round this spring under the Veterans Seniors and Human Services Levy. If you
do NOT want these government funders to have information such as your name, street address, or
demographics, please inform staff. We will then mask this data from our reports. We are changing our
privacy policy to reflect these new rules. Please see WCSC staff or our website for the revised policy.
