How It Pays Off: Loki is revealed to be an heir to the throne, but not that of Asgaard, when Odin tells him he is the son of the Jotun king. He's part Frost Giant!

The Dark Knight • The Foreshadowing: • Harvey Dent outlines his

worldview to Bruce Wayne, telling him, "you either a die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

How It Pays Off: Harvey ends up having it both ways, becoming the villainous Two-Face before Batman's cover-up paints him as a hero in death.

Batman Begins • The Foreshadowing: • Lieutenant Gordon

produces an evidence bag containing a playing card, before explaining to Batman that a new menace is threatening Gotham's streets. "Take this guy. Armed robbery, double homicide,” he begins. “Got a taste for the theatrical like you. Leaves a calling card…”

How It Pays Off: The calling card is a joker, setting up The Dark Knight's storyline with considerable.
