Friday 27th September 2019 We fly from Manchester to the Aegean paradise of Skiathos early this morning. Transfer to our lovely 4* hotel upon arrival, with free time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities before dinner this evening. (D)

Saturday 28th September 2019 Today’s walk leads us through ancient pine woods to the beautiful beaches of Angistros and Elias. Enjoy fantastic panoramic views en route, with free time for lunch (at own expense) before heading back through the beautiful pine trails. (B,D)

Sunday 29th September 2019 Visit Kounistra today, as we join one of the island’s loveliest footpaths. Journeying through shaded forest, stop at Kounistra Monastery for traditional Greek coffee before heading to the Giannis o Kryfos Monastery and onwards to scenic Lygaries beach. Returning to our hotel, we cross rock pools at the meandering Achilas brook and visit a small donkey shelter. (B,D)

Monday 30th September 2019 Enjoy a free day to relax or explore the lovely local area. Our hotel is just a short walk from the beach. A 20 minute drive leads to Skiathos Town. Perhaps simply relax in our hotel and enjoy its great facilities. (B,D)

Tuesday 1st October 2019 Explore the Magic Forest of Skiathos on today’s full day walk, a unique area of untouched nature. Take the ancient footpath to Panagia Kechria Monastery, where we can rest. We continue onwards through the Magic Forest, ending at the beach at Kechria, where we will have free time for lunch at a traditional beach taverna (at own expense). Later we return to our hotel for dinner. (B,D)

Regent Walking & Mobility

Guided walks on this tour consist of 3 to 5 hours of easy to moderate walking over varied and undulating terrain. Although some pathways are easily navigable, some trails may be more strenuous, although regular comfort stops will be made.

Walking distances range between 6 miles and 8 miles per day. This tour is suitable for people with a good level of fitness and stamina.

All walks will be escorted by Regent Tour Manager Wendy Birch and an expert local guide. Our local guide will give information on all points of interest and point out herbs and plants of interest along the way.

All special requests such as health and dietary requirements must be given at time of booking and are not guaranteed. Our walking tours are not suitable for those with walking difficulties, and Regent must be informed if health declines over the booking period. Wednesday 2nd October 2019 Today’s full day walk shows Skiathos for the true gem it is, with lush green forestry surrounded by sparkling blue seas throughout. We follow the footpath along the Ganotis brook this morning, passing the Stamelos spring before arriving at the Monastery of Evangelistria. This peaceful place makes for a beautiful resting stop, before we head onto another monastic site at Charalambos. Follow the ancient footpath to the chapel of Panagia Doman, crossing the Chimonas spring before arriving at Kastro. Explore the remains of the old capital of Skiathos before we walk downwards to Kastro’s beautiful beach. Here we will have lunch (at own expense) and perhaps have time for a swim in the glorious blue sea. We return to our hotel via traditional ’kaiki’ boat, passing the famous Lalaria beach. (Boat trip at additional expense of approx. €10 per person, details to be confirmed nearer departure date). (B,D)

Thursday 3rd October 2019 Explore the island of Skopelos today, on our full day optional excursion. Departing our hotel this morning via traditional ‘kaiki’ boat, we head to scenic Skopelos. Walking uphill to the village of Palio Klima, we journey through forest and pass clifftops until we reach the chapel of Agios Giannis, made world-famous in the film Mamma Mia. Enjoy free time to see the chapel and have lunch (at own expense), before following the track back to the port of Loutraki for our boat back to the hotel. (Excursion at additional expense of approx. €40 per person, details to be confirmed nearer departure date). Alternatively, you may wish to spend a day at leisure.

Friday 4th October 2019 We say goodbye to beautiful Greece this morning, taking an afternoon flight back to England. Arrive at Manchester airport late afternoon. (B)
