Barley Loaves

What kind of bread? Be prepared to answer that question at the sandwich counter. You have many choices; wheat, rye, sourdough, multi-grain, Italian, Italian cheese, Italian Herb, oat, jalapeño cheese, rosemary sea salt, roasted garlic, parmesan oregano, gluten free, flat bread, etc. Wow! Does anyone have any barley loaves? In our gospel today, Andrew said,

“there is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these

for so many?” (John 6) Jesus will amaze them with his generosity to feed so many people. What situations do we find ourselves in, where none of the options on the “menu” seem to satisfy? The answer may not be found at the sandwich counter; rather, let us count on Jesus. And the question is not, “What do you want?” rather, “Who do you want?” “I want you, Jesus.”

We are in need of a sacristan for our 4 pm Saturday Mass for the 2nd and 4th week of the month. We are also looking for a leader for our Living Justice Committee.
