Under Wraps Unwrapping God’s Greatest Gift Advent begins today, December 2, 2018, and we start an exciting new Advent program, Under Wraps: The Gift We Never Expected. Prepared and piloted by The Woodlands United Methodist Church in Houston, this joyful program explores some of God’s unexpected qualities, presented over the four weeks of Advent and Christmas Eve.

Dec 2 God Is Expectant

Dec 9 God Is Dangerous

Dec 16 God Is Jealous

Dec 23 God Is Faithful (8:30 & 9:45am services)

Dec 24 Season of Joy

Just as the first wrapped gift beneath the Christmas tree marks the new season, so the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day signaled that God’s hope and salvation and redemption plan had come into the world. In Jesus, God gift-wrapped himself in human flesh and was born in a stable so he could come and live among us and offer us life and salvation that we could never gain on our own.

Under Wraps will include special sermons and worship activities, as well as study groups and resources for adults, youth, and children.

Join us this Advent as we unwrap God’s greatest gift, our Savior Jesus.

Staff Appreciation This Christmas At WUMC, we are fortunate to enjoy the good qualities and talent of an awesome staff! As Christmas approaches, SPRC invites you to be part of not only recognizing, but also demonstrating appreciation for our staff.

Through December 14, we are collecting monetary gifts to share with our staff. We offer the opportunity for you to put a donation--clearly marked for Staff Appreciation---in the offering plate or in an envelope that you mail or deliver to the church office.

Donated gifts will be distributed to the staff on Sunday, December 16th; we are asking staff to be present at our 8:30am service to give the congregation an opportunity to show appreciation in person, as well.

Our Staff:

Let’s make December 16th a fun morning for all of us and a rewarding one for our fabulous staff! Your monetary gift will be appreciated more than you can imagine! Thank you for your generous expressions of gratitude.

Church and Society Committee Stewardship Tips:

GIFTING.

When considering gifts for someone, make a concerted effort to be sustainable. Chances are that your most favorite gifts were not large things from big box stores, but rather homemade or from unique sources. Instead of “stuff” would this person prefer a gift of your time toward their favorite cause? There are lots of ways give gifts that will be cherished rather than dumped in a landfill after they break.
