Communication Forums at WUMC HERALD Articles are due on the fifth of each month to Sherri Haines. This publication is for events one to two months, out. So right now, if you are preparing an article, you should be looking at church events in November.
BULLETIN Notices are due on Tuesday at close of business to Sherri Haines. This information should be for the upcoming two weeks, or so (definitely not a month or two out, as that info is best suited for the Herald). Submissions should be no more than 75 words.
WEEKLY E-HERALD NEW PUBLICATION Forward info to Sherri Haines by close of business day on Wednesday. This will be sent to the entire church on Thursdays, via email, and the email will also be placed on our Facebook page. These are time-critical events and news related to this coming weekend in our church and ministries. Item for submission should be brief, of 50 words or less. The office does not keep a suspense file. Please make your request in a timely fashion.
WEBSITE and FACEBOOK Submissions to the website can be for any future date. The website will be placed on any and all correspondence of the church. Facebook is really only good for shorter-timed updates but there is an events feature that can be used to invite people to special programs in the church. Only those subscribed to our Facebook page get this news.
The Stephen Ministry's mission is to provide lay led, Christ centered care for people through people. Everyone has experienced some kind of challenges due to changes within our life circumstances. In Galatians 6 the Apostle Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Stephen Ministers have been trained and are organized to provide confidential, same gender, one-to-one caring support to people who are going through a difficult time. This ministry is not limited to just members of our congregation. If you could use this type of care contact one of our pastors. If you could use this type of care or would be interested in being part of this ministry please contact one of our pastor.

Due to recent safety and security concerns, effective immediately all interior doors on-campus will be locked in order to limit access
within the facility and reduce the potential for hidden persons and theft. Please inform the appropriate people with whom you work or groups that fall under your ministry; the new policy is for their protection as well as the facility. Keys can be obtained from Sherri Haines in the office during office hours (inform her which room and hall doors are accessed). If you find a door unlocked, lock it. Be aware of what is around you. IF YOU ENCOUNTER SOMEONE AND ARE NOT SURE WHO THEY ARE: BE CAREFUL, GET TO A SAFE PLACE, AND CALL 911. Do not call Dick or the office. Get the word out—”lets be safe.”
Any questions, concerns, or suggestions of any kind, please feel free to contact me by email or by phone if urgent , [email protected], 410-215-5310. Frank Potee, Trustees Chair
