Purim was on Monday night and Tuesday . It's one of thehappiest days in the Jewish calendar, where we listen to the story of Esther
who saved the Jewish people. We give food gifts to our family and friends, wetake part in a big meal and we give to the poor. It is a time where children
dress up and go to Purim parties at their local Synagogue. Of course wehave a food related to this Festival -hamantashen, a 3 corner biscuit filled with jam or
chocolate or anything you want really).
Again thank you to The Shuk for this year providingdelicious chocolate flavoured Hamantashen to the children of Vaucluse who are
doing Hebrew. What a delicious treat.

I just wanted to let the school know that my home is the collectionpoint in this area for the ‘Give a Girl a Book’ campaign where authorSuzy Zail sends preloved books to children in Africa. This collection is
timed to be in conjunction with International Women’s Day. If youwouldn’t mind letting the school community know they can drop anysecondhand books off in the next week to 19 Kimberley St, Vaucluse.
Thanks,Lara
