A special thank you to two of our "frontline work-ers", Bianca and Jeannetta, for keeping our bath-rooms, offices and classrooms sani-tized every day!

Look out for more sharing from our class 8’s. They have impressed me

deeply in how they embraced their online learning through our Zoom

classes.

Here is an example of a skill I am learning, i.e. note

taking online on a drawing pad. I feel like a young 7

-year old learning to write. Being left-handed does

not make writing on a drawing pad/screen easier.

Have a good chuckle at Teacher Lisa’s wobbly

attempt at class note taking. Lockdown has

brought unexpected surprises and new horizons.

All my love

Teacher Lisa

Class 9 Main Lesson—Modern Art Study

The following images were done by Mia Kets in Class 9. They are her rendition of Braque's development of Cubism, and Fauve

technique of the portrait of Andre Derain.

Class 10 and Class 11 news…

Class 10 and 11 have been preparing for their Work-in-the-World experience and Social Practical by starting close to

home. The 11's have been calling for donations of ingredients for soup, which, together with the 10's, they have been turning

into delicious, nutritious and hearty pots of soup daily, to hand out to high school children, some of whom bring little or no

food with them to school.

As it grows, we will expand to include children in the Primary School as well. Already, some of the little Class 1's have been

hanging around the kitchen to get a cup of soup at the end of the day! The students have felt inspired by the action they are

taking, and are learning how good it feels to give.

In addition, time during lockdown made them fully appreciate the warmth of our Waldorf curriculum, and the importance of

the social interaction we encourage in all our classes. It has been wonderful to hear them chatter under the trees as they chop

veggies and to see them restoring their relationships and make sense of the new world we find ourselves in, while their hands

and hearts are busy creating delicious food.

This is another way our Waldorf ways meet the needs of young people in the world of today.

Also, if anyone wants to send any ingredients to add to our soups, please do so! The class 11's will collect from each class in the

mornings. Veggies, tinned goods, lentils, beans, oil - anything spare that you have on hand will be most appreciated.

Vacancies

Join us in helping our student teachers realise their dreams by

supporting our Thanks a Million Campaign which will run from

Woman’s Day until 30 September 2020

During these strange and uncertain times, we have seen people

from all walks of life come together in support of others in need.

We have seen Community Action Networks and soup kitchens

spring up, showing the care and concern of individuals for their

neighbours and for people they do not know. There is a deep

sense of Ubuntu living within people for their communities in

South Africa.

As lockdown continues, with entire families increasingly affected

by reduced income, retrenchments, and the strain of physical

distancing and online learning, social injustices are more clearly

evident. Lockdown is deepening the divide between the people

who have and the people who don’t. Students cannot pay their

fees.

At the Centre for Creative Education, where 90% of our students are women, we have made rapid adjustments during the pandemic. We have moved to online

training, assisted students with data, food, given payment holidays and fee reductions, to support their ongoing education. We already raise R4 Million for

bursaries each year as our students cannot access funds made available to students studying at other South African public universities. This is not enough.

You can help them.

Be one of the 1000 people to donate R1000 to raise R1 Million towards supporting our students.

Our country needs teachers. We believe that teachers hold the future within their classrooms in their communities. We believe that inspired teachers engage

with children in a caring, creative way to bring out the best in each child. We need great teachers. Now more than ever.

Share our campaign with your family and friends. Invite them to share it on their networks in SA and abroad. Donate individually or club together with your

friends.

All contributors will get a Section 18A tax certificate.

For companies, we are certified as a Level 1 BBBEE contributor under the Socio-Economic Development pillar.
