Words from President SO MUCH GOING ON
So much going on the last few weeks and more coming. Plenty to do, come on out and join in the fun.
As I write this we have just completed Corvettes at Carlisle 2018. What a great weekend we had, including the cooperation of the weather. 130 Corvettes were in the judged field, 30 more were registered. What a great job by co-chairs Mike Boyer and
Steve Vrabel and all of the members that came together and volunteered to help make this show a premier annual event.
For those that missed it, we had a great YCCC picnic and pig roast. And no rain! The weather ended up being great. Joe Gary, Dave Kosko, Chris Boyer, Alex Boyer, Milford Zeiders and Scott Fredericks did a great culinary job. Thanks to Ash and Sandy
Spangler for donating the charcoal and Joe Malloy for the bottled water. And of course Mike and Barb Boyer for hosting anoth-er successful picnic. And Mike got off easy this year….we did not have to test his road building skills.
If you have not had the chance yet, please check out the club’s new website: YorkCorvetteClubPA.net. Scott and Linda Freder-icks did a wonderful job getting the site up and running. It is much easier t read. You can click on the Calendar tab and find all of the YCCC events for the next few months. As you look through the site let us know what you would like and don’t like and
we’ll adjust as we go. This site will much easier to maintain and modify.
If you have not received your YCCC 50th Anniversary Memory Book, you need to meet up with Barb Gary to get yours. We had enough made up to provide one to each YCCC family. Barb Gary along with Anne Berkebile, Joan Davis, Cathi Ennis and Eva
Morris put forth a lot of time and effort to get this book together. It is really a nice publication. Many thanks to the anniversary committee along with all of those that contributed the stories and write-ups contained in the book.
Please remember the Corvettes for Chip show coming up on November 4th. It’s not too early to register for that show. There are a limited number of spots for inside parking if that interests you, so do not wait too long. George Trocki and his team are
working hard to make our second year with this show another great success.
As always, please take time to introduce yourself to new members and welcome them to the club. We’re all here because we enjoy the camaraderie our joint interest in Corvettes bring. We’re always looking for new members to share in the enjoyment
we all experience in Corvette ownership and YCCC membership.
As we continue throughout the year, take time to pray for and stay in contact with members and their families that may be in poor health or just need someone to talk too. If you are aware of someone who has been under the weather, give them a call
and say hi and let Luke or one of the other board members know.
Lastly remember my theme, let’s have fun and drive those Corvettes.
Your friend and President, Mike Navecky

ported that he is still short on judges for the Carlisle
show and is asking people to step up and volunteer
to judge. The next seminar will be held on August
11, at the club picnic. At last count, 25 members
had volunteered to judge. Luke would like to have
at least 30 volunteer judges. Luke also mentioned
that 3 new positions have been created to help ex-
pedite the judging process and the club needs three
additional volunteers to fill these positions. Luke
mentioned that if you feel uneasy about judging,
this is an alternative way that you can help. See
Luke.

leen’s possession by October 31, 2018. Anyone sub-
mitting their paperwork and check after October 31,
2018 will incur a $10 late charge.
Chick Renn introduced his guest at this evening’s
meeting. Lonny Gordon addressed the membership
and thanked everyone for their help and support for
the Lonny Gordon Benefit Custom Car Show held on
May 26, 2018. Lonny had some very serious health
issues and it was wonderful to see and hear him
speak to us. Thanks Chick for bringing Lonny to the
meeting.

scheduled for launch during the week of August 13,
2018. Scott will send out a Google Group email giv-

cess the site. The Board of Directors previewed the
site at the July Board Meeting and approved the de-
sign with a few minor changes. These changes are
included in the version that is being launched. When
you get the Google Group email, visit the site. Scott
and Linda did a fine job with this redesign.

asked for volunteers to help clean up the area. The

must register individually on line and then signup on
a signup sheet at a future meeting. There is no regis-

from the YCCC block of rooms. This show may be
sold out. If you think you are interested, act now.
There is a Carlisle Fall Auction on the books. YCCC
will need volunteer drivers and pushers. Watch for
more details.
Reserve September 30, 2018 for the “Hands Across
the River” ice cream party. Lancaster Corvette Club
is coming to York County. The ice cream party will be
held at Mack’s Ice Cream in Wrightsville. Meet there
at 3:00pm.
On October 21 we will have a special “What If” guid-
ed tour of the Gettysburg battlefield with special
attention paid to the role of the Berdan Sharpshoot-
ers. We are fortunate to have a member, Rich Sim-
mons, who is very familiar with the unit’s history and
who will lead the tour. Rich’s affiliation with the Na-
tional Park and Battlefield, his experience as a re-
enactor and guide, and a family tie to the actual Ber-
dan Sharpshooters is a very interesting story. You
should not miss this.

CORVETTES AT CARLISLE:
A great job to all that helped with the Corvettes at Carlisle NCCC
Show!! We had beautiful weather (thank you Chip!) and a great
level of participation on the show field. As I write, this I am in
the process of entering the results into the NCCC database. I am
at a halt right now due to a glitch on the NCCC system. Once the
glitch is fixed, the rest of the results will be entered.
RENEWALS:
As I mentioned in the last meeting, please be sure that you
home address and email address is up to date for the NCCC site.
I believe that the 2019 cards will be mailed via USPS to your
house. I will find out more on this at the end of the month when
I attend the Regional Meeting.
