VOLUME 40 APRIL 18, 1973 NUMBER 24 "Find enclosed a check t o renew my 18th year in t h e NRC. It's hard for me to believe that I'm an old-timer but 'facts i s facts' and I must conclude by saying that I've enjoyed every LAST D moment of my membership." (G. Harley DeLeurere) THE END NEW DOMESTIC LOG IN THE MAIL By the time you read this you'll probably have gotten your new NRC Log if you order delivery by First Class mail; Book Rate can take anywhere from two days to six weeks depending upon what have always appeared to be completely random factors, hi. Remember t o send all corrections to Ron Musco, 16 Chestnut Dr., windsor, Conn. 06095. We will run a Corrector first and then resume the Updater series. Hopefully this Edition will have a smaller Corrector than the 2nd Edition: if it doesn't it's not for want of proofreading effort, hi. The total amount of time devoted to preparation of this . new Domestic Log by the HQ crew came t o about 200 man-hours over the last two months: as is the case with all NRC projects and operations, any profit which may accrue goes directly into the NRC treasury to help underwrite Club operations and to permit us to bring you a larger DX NEWS each i s s u e . Projects such as the new Log would be impossible without the freely-given volunteer efforts of the membership. SCHEDUJX FOR REMAINDER OF VOLUME 40 It's that time of year again when cx go to pot, DX NEWS goes o f f i t s weekly schedule, and the HQ crew gets to catch up on all the things we've been forced to neglect during the grind of weekly publication. The schedule for the remainder of the Volume is: #25, May 2: #26, May 16: #27, May 30: #28, June 20; #29, July 11: #30, August 8: #31, September 5; #32, September 26. These are the masthead dates; copies of the deadlines are being sent to the Editors. AURORAL DATA WANTED We're still very interested in hearing of "odd" receptions on nights with heavy auroral activity (say with A above 30 or 40). Of s p e c i a l interest are "singular" receptions (for example, Canadians being absent except for one station), frequency selective effects (only stations above or below a particular frequency being audible), fast I or slow deep fades, etc. Carl Dabelstein sent along some very nice observations which we'll discuss in the future-Send data to GPN at HQ, please. *GPN & BGK
