P&C Halloween Disco:
On Friday 1 November 2013, at six o’clock, we went to the Halloween d
isco. All of the school came or most of them. It was at the Rollands Plains
Hall.
Firstly, we were early. We were the first ones there. We were about twenty
minutes early. When Luke came there was still ten minutes until we could
go into the hall.
The first game was musical statues. Asha and I won musical statues. The
second game was a dance called Nutbush. The last game was limbo. My
favourite games were musical statues and limbo.
At the start of the disco I won a skull light for dancing. It was the best Hal-
loween disco I have ever been to. Jack Mansfield
On Friday 1 November, I got off the bus and rode home as fast as I could.
When I got home I ran inside and got ready to go. Once I was finished I
realised I had to wait two hours before I left. Two hours later my family
and I left to go to the Halloween disco. When I arrived there were so many
cool costumes. All the boys and girls had dressed up. After a while it got
dark. Then we played musical statues and then limbo. I was very good at
limbo. After that the lights turned off and on very quickly. Then I went
home. My favourite part of the Halloween disco was the limbo. Sam Dwyer
SCHOOL NE WS
2014 Staffing: We have been given an overview of the anticipated funding allocation for
our school for 2014. Mr Keane will be working 4 days per week, with myself five days per week. Un-
fortunately we do not have enough funding, due to current forecasted enrolment numbers, to contin-
ue employing Miss Fulmer. Mrs McLachlan and Mrs Drage will also still be working with us. Cur-
rently we have 27 students enrolled in our school. If we retain an enrolment number of 26 or greater
we will increase our teaching allocation.
Surf Safety and Beach Awareness:
On Monday afternoon, Greg Hudson from Port Macquarie Surf
Life Saving visited our school and spoke to the students about
beach, sun and surf safety. Greg outlined the importance of stay-
ing protected from the sun, being aware of the dangers of the surf
and what to do if you need help in the water. The learning Greg
provided was supported by Surf Science facts and video clips which are available to all families via
the internet.
School Sleep Over Wow! The children were all so excited in the lead up to our
school sleep over and equally excited on the day. We played indoor games until the weather cooled
before playing a game of school trivial pursuit. The primary students had formulated all of the ques-
tions. After a filling BBQ dinner, we discoed for an hour before the students had a choice of watching
either Epic or Despicable Me 2. At 9:30pm it was lights out. Surprisingly, it was the infants boys who
stayed awake the longest, trying to see midnight, we think. Before
7:00am Mr Keane, Sam, Billy, Eli and Jack had the fitness course set
up and were ready to go for the day. Bacon and eggs for breakfast
meant we were all energised after the fitness training and to com-
mence school at 9:00am. Fruit, jelly and ice-cream, hot dogs, cakes
and a very small amount of lollies
were enjoyed throughout Friday. The children all had a wonderful
time enjoying the opportunity to further develop friendships with
their peers while the infants began developing their independence
skills being away from home in a safe known environment. Thank
you to Mr Thurston who cooked all of the BBQ’s for us, Mrs Drage
who coordinated the kitchen, Mr Keane and Miss Fulmer for organ-
ising activities. A special thank you to the Year 6 SRC who suggested the activity which will now,
possibly, become an annual event.

From the Classroom:
On Thursday 7 November, we had a sleep over night at school. On Thursday at 3.00pm, we had games
to play at school and after the games we had afternoon tea. Then we played trivia games. You have to
ask some questions of three people out the front on orange chairs. After the trivia games we played
sport and then we had dinner. We had sausage sandwiches and some ice cream. Then we went to bed
and in the morning we had bacon and eggs for breakfast. I couldn’t choose a favourite part because it
was all good. Billy Mason
The best thing we liked about camp was that we had lots of fun. We watched Despicable Me 2 and one
of the characters was called Mr Ramsbottom. We thought that was very funny. Dave, Stewart, Kevin
and Steve were some of the minions. We got to play the wii. We got to eat ice cream and sausage sand-
wiches for dinner and jelly the next day because the jelly wasn’t set. We had bacon and eggs and left
over sausages for breakfast. Some of us did an obstacle course after breakfast with Mr Keane. We used
plastic cones and some of the play equipment to make the obstacle course. Annabelle: I thought the
best part was sleeping at school. Eli: I thought the best part was watching the movies. Annabelle Lynch
& Eli Raglus
