These cards will contain thelatest chip technology, offering a whole newlevel of security and peace of mind—a card thatmakes safe payments safer.

What is a chip card?Chip cards contain an embedded microchip

which is virtually impossible to replicate. Thisprovides significant protection against cardcounterfeiting and fraud. Your card workstogether with chip-enabled terminals, a PersonalIdentification Number (PIN) and a range ofsecurity features to create a multi-layereddefense against fraud.

What’s next?First, you will receive the PIN for your newcard. Keep the new pin safe and don’t discloseit to anyone. A few days later, you’ll receive yournew chip card. Once you have followed theinstructions to activate the card, you can beginusing it. And, if you’d like to change your PINonce you receive your chip card, just visit yournearest Heritage Credit Union branch or ATM.
