Green River was one of three communities selected by Wyoming Main Street to receive the services of an expert in all things Main Street to assist us in developing comprehensive, execution driven, Transformation Strategies. Josh Bloom of the Community Land Use and Economics Group will provide market analysis assistance and help to guide us toward a focused economic development strategy. This will result in the following deliverables:
District Transformation Strategies. A written summary of catalyst business development strategies with business and customer group opportunities identified.
Economic Vitality Work Plan (EV). A written work plan of comprehensive recommendations for action including, but not limited to partnership opportunities, niche pro-motion and marketing activities, key design enhance-ments and projects, private or public, commercial or resi-dential, which could potentially catalyze other economic development investment. The EV would help guide the organization through an activity framework with future budgeting, capacity needs, resource needs, and timelines.
Metric Development. As a follow-up to the EV, each activity or group of activities should have either a qualitative and/or quantitative metric along with a baseline to bet-ter understand if work efforts are truly making a differ-ence on the selected Transformation Strategies.
Final Executive Report. Following the presentation, the National Main Street Center will incorporate feedback into an executive report.
The first step in this process is to conduct a survey in order to hear what the community envisions for downtown. Visit the Green River URA/ Main Street Facebook page to find the survey: www.facebook.com/greenrivermainstreet Next, we will hold a community conversation Thursday, August 17th at 5:30pm in the auditorium at Western Wyoming Communi-ty College, Green River Center, to reveal the results of the survey and receive additional community input. We invite anyone to participate in the survey and join us for the community meeting. We are very excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to working with Mr. Bloom to develop our plan.
