Believe in MeWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

My journey back has been so hard and long, I weakly wondered if I could stay strong. Totally tired or was I just too old? Nothing I touched or tried would turn to gold.

Oh, if you believe in me, I will believe in me. And if I sense your trust, Serving you is my vital must. And if you follow me, Rest your weary head peacefully. All the days of your life, All the days of my life.

The world I live in, is between my ears. No populist group think, no judgement fears. Am I worthy, can I be my best, For those I care for, can I pass my test?

Oh, if you believe in me, I will believe in me. And if I sense your trust, Serving you is my vital must. And if you follow me, Rest your weary head peacefully. All the days of your life, All the days of my life.

Flaming SunWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Oh, I love everyone, Fires me like a flaming sun. Oh, I love everyone, Mindful calmness has begun.

Oh, I love everyone tonight, It’s my privilege, my choice, my birthright. To be thankful and peaceful in my heart. To know I’m never alone in the dark.

Null negativity will only cause you harm, Double your nice thoughts and you triple your calm, The best in people is not that hard to see, Just for your eyes to open wide and let it be.

Oh, I hate everyone, Fires me like a flaming sun. Oh, I hate everyone, Pseudo friendships on the run.

Voices in my HeadWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Please free me, from the voices within my head, Please release me, if you can’t I’ll soon be dead. Please, please, please, free me. Please, please, please, release me.

The voices are telling me, to harm and hurt and brutalise. My heart says this isn’t right, I know that’s true but it has no eyes. Please, please, please, just free me. Please, please, please, release me.

Before I do something wrong, I know I’m weak but must be strong. I can’t make it on my own, Help, don’t leave me all alone.

Please free me, from the voices within my head, Please release me, if you can’t I’ll soon be dead. Please, please, please, free me. Please, please, please, release me.

The voices are telling me, I have no worth, I’m a nothing guy. Their saying no one cares for me, no matter now if I live or die. Please, please, please, free me. Please, please, please, release me.

I know that’s true but it has no eyes. Please, please, please, just free me. Please, please, please, release me.

RainWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Well there’s rain falling all around me, It’s been so sandy dry for so very long. I guess this means my world is surely changing. I guess this means my spirits moving on.

Like the sun, my heart is disappearing. A rainbow farewell is in the air. So once again, I believed and trusted too much. And once again sweet sad songs fills the air.

Sweet sad songs fill the air, Red raw raindrops of despair, Rusty rainbows with no one to share, Pigments painted colouress of care.

The dry times serve my season, The wet times calm my heart, The storm clouds bridge my distant memories, The rainfall prompts my present dark.

Humanity needs both the dry and wet spells. Happiness is defined by sadness too. As the rain is softly gently falling. My happiness is ill defined by you.

1980WORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Nerida, my dear, I love more than myself, You’re my eyes to my future, the heart of my wealth. We will love one another, You will walk as my wife. And blossom a mother, my vessel of life.

We will die in the winter, a few days apart. And rise from the world, And emerge from the dark. We’ll sit with our father, and watch from above, As our children’s lives grow, In their parent’s sweet love.

I Like You Cos You’re PrettyWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

I like you cos you’re pretty, I like you cos you’re nice. I like you cos you’re happy as well, and smiling all the time. I like you cos you’re positive, I like your optimistic view. That’s a nice big fat happy reason, I like spending time with you.

I’m not so big on negative girls, Life’s too short in this happy world. It’s nice to have bright breezy friend, To laugh and smile with until the end.

Now when I say I like you, it doesn’t mean I want to sleep with you. It just means to me you’re interesting, and fun to be around. So please don’t overcomplicate, don’t turn into a cunning Kate, Just stay in your optimistic, pretty, perfect, calm home state.

I’m not so big on negative girls, Life’s too short in this challenging world. It’s nice to have bright breezy friend, To laugh and smile with until the end.

I like you cos you’re pretty, I like you cos you’re nice. I like you cos you’re happy as well, and smiling all the time. I like you cos you’re positive, I like your optimistic view. That’s a nice big fat happy reason, I like spending time with you.

Brown Eyed RoseWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Oh the news was coming soon, what a wonderful joy. Yeh, your Mumma and Pappa might finally get a little boy. They waited so patiently, how much nobody knows, Until that special day in April with little brown eyed Rose.

Oh, she came into this world, beautiful girl. With her bright eyes full of show, we’ve come to know. Oh, she came into this world, beautiful girl. Tall, elegant as she gently grows, little brown eyed Rose.

Seventeen years have passed, since that fresh bright day. That little tiny brown eyed baby, on her graduation day. We need to thank our maker for this beautiful girl. And trust her promise is nourished in this beautiful world.

Oh, she came into this world, beautiful girl. With her bright eyes full of show, we’ve come to know. Oh, she came into this world, beautiful girl. Tall, elegant as she gently grows, little brown eyed Rose.

PlaygroundWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Forty years later I’m still strumming my guitar, Overthinking everyone and thing so really haven’t come too far. Still standing dreaming in the playground, and wondering who I am. Still thinking what I’ll end up like when I’ve grown to be a man.

Ohh, this is me. In my playground I am free. Ohh, this is me.

So great to see my dear old friends, they are so much still the same, Our faces are so full of smiles not betraying our journey’s pain. Our conversation amazes my heart, it seems they really cared, They saw and understood much more of me, than I could ever share.

I feel so happy and fortunate to finally understand from naught, To be so proud of who you are and where you come from, is such a noble thought, Forty years later feels like such a long long time, But really it’s just yesterday if you open up your mind.

Cairns InletWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

It’s raining in Cairns Inlet, no better place to be, I love the clouds on the Pyramid reaching to the sea. When I’m back in my homeland, I’m feeling ten foot tall, I can feel my family, from my childhood call.

Oh this space, is heaven’s lace, Oh this place is beautiful

Olive green mangroves, touching purple clouds, Busy boats yawning, away from mindless crowds. Clouded sun arising, trying to start the day, Raining in Cairns Inlet, my real world fades away.

It’s raining in Cairns Inlet, no better place to be, I love the clouds on the Pyramid reaching to the sea. When I’m back in my heartland, I’m feeling ten foot tall, I can feel my family, from my childhood call.

Free Them TodayWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Free them today, free them today, Free them today, free them today.

Thinking of my brothers on their sacred land, My sister’s fearful eyes from a beating hand, I see their soft sad children with no hope or health, I’m thinking of our country’s will and wealth.

These proud and perfect people need a respectful break, Idealistic nonsense, it’s the same mistake. They need help not self serving do good lies, Health, education, self belief, untainted eyes.

Please politicians focus on important things, Forget the PC and city centric whims. Australians first and first Australians now, Bring equality to all and live our nation’s vow.

You Touch My HeartWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

You touch my heart, In a special way. You calm my soul, Like a brand new day.

Oh, how can I know? How can I feel? When will this feeling show? If it’s truly real?

I don’t know what real is anymore. I don’t know how to feel anymore.

You’re in my mind, All and every day. You light my path, A thousand miles away.

Oh, what is this feeling? What does it mean? Am I finally hearing? Am I clearly seeing? I don’t know what real is anymore. I don’t know how to feel anymore.

So please gently show me, Promise not to hurt me, Allow me to trust you now. Guide me to a safer space.

Meng Po TangWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON AND WEI HANHAN

A long time ago my friend, Across this land a story spread, A boy, a girl and her rich friend, All in love until the bitter end.

A river call Life River, A road called Death Road, A bridge called Alterative Bridge, A terrace called Homesick Terrace.

Touched a stone, called three lives stone, Passed the bridge and climbed the terrace. Don’t look back, and regret the past, Just look forward and avoid the furnace.

Patient old lady with her Meng Po Tang, Her magic soup to calm your pain, Drink my soup to forget your life, To start again free of strife.

The boy whispered in the gentle night, The girl touched his arm to ease her fright. For you my dear some magic soup, She bottomed up, to a sighing flute.

His trembling hands betrayed his secret, Uneasy eyes revealed his truth, Best for her to be with her rich friend, Forget him forever with the Meng Po Tang.

I couldn’t give you the sound love you deserve, I have to let you go, my dear. Ask Buddha for next life love. I will pray to be with you for five hundred years.

The girl looked down and then looked up again. Smiled to the boy and laughed at him. Meng Po Tang is warm and sharp, But it will never fool my heart.

I’ll always love you. Our memories are too strong and true. The magic soup will collect our tears, And overflow through our many years.

I’ll always love you. Our memories are too strong and true. The magic soup will remove our tears, Magnify our joy through our many years.

I’ll always love you. Our memories are too strong and true. The Meng Po Tang will remove our fears, Loving you for a thousand years.

Silhouette ThursdayWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

Sitting at the window on a Thursday night, Sophisticated silkness in the city lights. Smiling, heart pumping, as high as a kite. Silhouette memory. Silhouette Thursday.

Childlike yet a woman in so many ways, Thoughtful understanding in the midnight glaze. Delighted softness as our passions blaze. Silhouette memory. Silhouette Thursday.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, finally Thursday, Silhouette Thursday, Silhouette Thursday.

White Queen’s Knight takes the Bishop black, Sacrificed pawns in a broken stack, Castle and Bishop lost for the fight, One small question of who’s wrong and right.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, finally Thursday, Silhouette Thursday, Silhouette Thursday.

Lilies on my GraveWORDS AND MUSIC: MARK ALLISON

I remember talking to my nana once, She told me the years go really fast these days. I promised her anything she wants, She smiled and said, just lilies on my grave.

She said, lilies, white lilies on my grave, She said, lilies, white lilies on my grave, I will remember you, I will remember you. I will remember you, I will remember you.

I asked my Dad what makes a man of worth, Is it mastering science or is it turning earth, He said you’ll only know when you’re no more a slave, When you look right down to see some lilies on your grave.

He said with lilies, white lilies on my grave, She said, lilies, white lilies on my grave, I will remember you, I will remember you. I will remember you, I will remember you.

Well, I looked into the mirror and I saw my face, I think of my life, I think of my sweet faith, I’ve tried to be the very best I can, I hope to be only my father’s man.
