New Attitude OCTOBER 2012 VOLUME 2 ISSUE 10 ADP Enterprise eTime Installed in Cobo Center ADP’s Enterprise eTIME, now being installed in Cobo Center, offers an ADP-hosted or on-prem- ise time and labor management solution that enables companies to increase the speed and accuracy of payroll preparation, improve wage and hour compliance, and optimize their labor investment through seamless integration of time and attendance, scheduling, absence management and activity tracking. The eTime system is expected to reduce costs associated with accurate time collection with the use of bio-metric time clocks and individual ID numbers. Employees will now scan their ID badge and thumb on a timeclock that will automatically record time, place and employee payroll information data. The system calculates all payroll structure variables automatically. It also helps reduce admin- istrative costs and liability risk associated with leave management through automated tracking, administration, and reporting of paid and unpaid leave policies, including intermittent FMLA. "This new system is expected to take the human error and guess work out of timekeeping in Cobo Center," said Thom Connors, general manager. Cobo Green Committee Tours NPR Recycling Plants To better understand what items are recycled in Cobo Center and what happens to materi- als sent for recycling, the Cobo Center Green Committee toured the NPR Recycling Center in Romulus, Michigan. NPR has been the recycling vendor for Cobo Center since 2010. Green committee members watched as paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and metal were separated and prepared before being sent to paper mills, foundaries and plastics manufac- turing plants. Information on how the United States compares to many other countries in recy- cling efforts and what recycling means to the sustainability of the environment was also offered. "It is important to understand how recycled materials are prepared for reuse and what we can do to make sure our materials are acceptable for recycling," said Cedric Turnbore, chaiman of the Cobo Center Green Committee. "It takes the entire Cobo team work- ing together to make sure our sustainability efforts are 100 percent effective."

ADP Enterprise eTime Installed in Cobo CenterADP’s Enterprise eTIME, now being installed in

Cobo Center, offers an ADP-hosted or on-prem-

ise time and labor management solution that

enables companies to increase the speed and

accuracy of payroll preparation, improve wage

and hour compliance, and optimize their labor

investment through seamless integration of time and attendance, scheduling, absence management

and activity tracking.

The eTime system is expected to reduce costs associated with accurate time collection with the use

of bio-metric time clocks and individual ID numbers. Employees will now scan their ID badge and

thumb on a timeclock that will automatically record time, place and employee payroll information

data. The system calculates all payroll structure variables automatically. It also helps reduce admin-

istrative costs and liability risk associated with leave management through automated tracking,

administration, and reporting of paid and unpaid leave policies, including intermittent FMLA.

"This new system is expected to take the human error and guess work out of timekeeping in Cobo

Center," said Thom Connors, general manager.

Cobo Green Committee Tours NPR Recycling PlantsTo better understand what items are recycled in Cobo Center and what happens to materi-als sent for recycling, the Cobo Center Green Committee toured the NPR Recycling Center in Romulus, Michigan. NPR has been the recycling vendor for Cobo Center since 2010.

Green committee members watched as paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and metal were separated and prepared before being sent to paper mills, foundaries and plastics manufac-turing plants. Information on how the United States compares to many other countries in recy-cling efforts and what recycling means to the sustainability of the environment was also offered.

"It is important to understand how recycled materials are prepared for reuse and what we can do to make sure our materials are acceptable for recycling," said Cedric Turnbore, chaiman of the Cobo Center Green Committee. "It takes the entire Cobo team work-ing together to make sure our sustainability efforts are 100 percent effective."

Customers and fans of Cobo Center are now being challenged to

upload videos of their Cobo experience to a new You Tube chan-

nel specifically designed for this purpose. The mycobocenter You

Tube Channel can be accessed with the user name: mycobocen-

[email protected] and the password videochallenge where videos

can be uploaded from any computer with the "upload" button

on the upper left hand corner of the You Tube channel webpage.

"The excitement of the Cobo renovation is growing, and we want

our customers and social media followers to be able to join the

fun by uploading videos they may have of their experiences

in Cobo Center," said Thom Connors, general manager of Cobo

Center. "It is our way of respecting the individual experience and

the community of a new center rising."

The mycobocenter You Tube channel will be monitored

daily by Cobo Center staff, and inappropriate videos will be

deleted. A library of Cobo Arena concert video, convention

and tradeshow video taken by customers and attendees,

wedding and banquet video and sport competition video is

expected to be collected and shared. Imaginative testimoni-

als, contest celebrations and sentimental memories can all

be seen and celebrated from the mycobocenter web space.

Cobo Center has another You Tube channel: CoboCenterDetroit,

created to host videos developed by professional broadcast

companies for use in sales and marketing. Customer tes-

timonials, an architectural fly-through of a fully renovated

Cobo Center and celebrity chef spots can be viewed or pulled

for web use with the share code provided on the You Tube

video page.

"This is a transformation I take personally," said Connors. "We

want everyone to share the comeback of a great American

city. Detroit is fast becoming known for its creativity and

innovation. We hope to see some of that reflected in the

mycobocenter video library."

NEW PUBLIC AND PRIVATE YOU TUBE CHANNELS FOR COBO

What's In Sight Must Be RightMany thanks to every Cobo Green Committee member who made time to tour the NPR Recycling Plant. Understanding what can be recycled and how to prepare materials for recy-cling is an essential part of our WISMBR philosophy and our sustainability initiatives.

Thanks to all who participated in the September safety training coordinated by Dawn Hesse. Safety is everyone's responsi-bility, and an important part of the Cobo WISMBR customer service standard.

The Cobo Center Production Services team, that is systematical-ly sorting, re-purposing, and purging storage areas throughout the building to prepare for an annual inventory, is especially observing WISMBR. Thanks to Cedric Turnbore, Garey Gentry, Ronald Matthews, Doug Robinson, Bill McNary, Don Scott, Cecil Armstrong, Angelo Johnson, Eric Perry, Sherri Dowdell, Leman Harris, DeAngelo Cummings, and Trellis Baily. Kudos, team.
