I don’t think I would be the only one to say that June was a crazy month. Between VBS, Super Summer, and Pastor leaving, it feels like summer is just flying by. I wanted to say a few words of encouragement about the last item on that list. It is so easy for us to worry about what will happen as we search for a new pastor. During times of worry I am brought to Matthew 6:25-34. In this passage Jesus talks about how the birds don’t worry about getting food, and the flowers don’t worry about blooming. Verses 33 and 34 are, in my opinion, both comforting and challenging: “But, seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (NIV)

It is tempting for us to get caught up in the process and steps of selecting a new pastor. Nominating and voting on committees, selecting candidates and calling references can seem daunting. But, we must not forget who we are. We are the body of Christ, and it is Christ himself who is the head of that body. If we, as one body, seek the kingdom first and give glory to God throughout this process, He will supply us with the pastor that we need. Let go of the worry and cling to God.

Your Brother in Christ, Bryson Wallace

P.S. July camp is coming soon! The dates are July 17-21st .This is for 7th-12th grade. If you have not filled out a form they are in the

lobby on the shelf or in my office. The cost of the camp is $249. If you need help with that cost please let me know. I can take the forms the day we go to camp, but I need shirt sizes ASAP.

I want to take this opportunity and this space to say it once again with feeling, We want you to come sing and or play with us! Summertime, with it’s more laid back pace, might be just the time for you to give a try to serving on the Praise Team. Right now, we are taking a break from our usual Wednesday night practices, but if you would like to participate, we meet on Sunday mornings at 9 to go over songs for the Sunday church service. I also send out an email with the words, notes and chords for team members to preview earlier in the week. No auditions. If the Lord likes the way you sing or play, we do too. Please join us. Also, we could still use some willing hands and ears to assist with the Media equipment. Check with Lee or me if you’d like to serve by learning to run slides or sound equipment.

If space is available, this is a good place

a good idea to make it easy to read at a

A question and answer session is a

good way to quickly capture the atten-

generic questions that are frequently

asked about your organization.

A listing of names and titles of manag-

to give your newsletter a personal

may want to list the names of all em-
