Thank you to our young people!

If you haven’t walked by the

rear of our building recently, maybe you haven’t noticed the beautiful new picnic ta-

bles that now adorn the patio area outside of our fellow-ship hall. Many thanks to

Joe Cummins III and his crew of young people (and their helpers) who not only assembled each table by

hand at Summer Camp a couple of weeks ago, but also spent hours decorating

them to uniquely capture the spirit of camp and of Washington Street. Six tables in total add a great deal of seating to our overall seating capacity, too. They are awe-some! Already much use has been made of them as we have enjoyed cool eve-

nings outside with a youth group activity last week and, last night, our ice cream supper! What a wonderful addition to that space and a great way to make it more attractive and usable. I want to thank everyone who had a hand in this great pro-

ject!

An Evening in Honduras at Washington Street… Sunday, August 19t

Our mission team returned safely and soundly last week

after another successful week in Honduras! Thank you for all of your fervent prayers…

we look forward to hearing from them, and from our brothers and sisters from the

Howell Hill congregation who partnered with us this year! Sunday night, August 19th,

has been set aside as a time to report on the ongoing work, to revisit the mission

and to fellowship together! Please join us as we celebrate another great mission effort and hear from our teams all that God is doing right now in Honduras!

Youth News

Hey everybody! School is drawing near, but we have been blessed with a little more time before school. We hope you are in prayer for the school year and our students as they are the hands and feet of Jesus in this community to so many.

There will be Coffee House at 7 pm tonight at the Galloway’s house. There will be baked goods and a continued study on Isaiah. HS Boys’ and Girls’ will take place Tuesday at 7 pm. Boys’ devo will be at the church building and Girls’ devo will be at Anna Catherine Osteen’s. Bring your questions and let’s talk about God.

We are also starting a MS Boys’ and Girls’ devo over the coming weeks. Aaron Lyon and Tyler Dodson will be leading the Boys’ devo and Elizabeth Barnes and Victoria Simms will be leading the Girls’ devo. These devos will be taking place right after school. We will give the location and dates later in the year.

These calendars are online. Go to the Youth tab and check it all out! If you are not signed up for the text message system, text @wsy to 81010, so that

you can stay informed.
