The LST-Series Vocoder module is an easy-to-integrate, robust, and scalable solution for communication applications in tactical environments, where limited bandwidth and noise is a major constraint.
The LST-series Vocoder module provides high quality speech transmission using a suite of highly optimized speech algorithms at various data rates. The algorithm suite includes MELPe (at 600bps, 1200bps & 2400 bps) which delivers intelligible speech transmission at very low bandwidths. The algorithm suite also includes the G.723.1 (5600bps and 6300 bps) providing high quality speech transmission and is ideally suited for VoIP applications. The LST-series Vocoder module provides user the flexibility to choose between various data rates and voice qualities, thereby enabling optimal bandwidth utilization, and hence efficient bandwidth management. Speech quality can be further enhanced in noisy networks with a built-in Echo Canceller (G.168) algorithm.(Speech files available on request.)
The suite of DTMF generation/detection algorithms as well as E&M signaling capability allows the LST Vocoder to be seamlessly integrated into legacy systems and networks (TDM/Packet-oriented). In typical applications, the LST Series Vocoder can be integrated into line-card of private exchange networks, VoIP, Satellite Phones, Radio Modems, Encryption Systems, and Fixed/Portable HF/VHF/UHF and P25 Radio Transceivers. The standardized interface of the Vocoder module enables easy integration into an end product.
The LST Series Vocoder is UPGRADABLE through a host system or the LST EPK (Evaluation and Programming Kit). With the LST-EPK the user can port algorithms to the LST Module (Modem, encryption etc), eliminating the need for additional development kits.
