In a journey towards becoming the most sought after airport in the country, GVK CSIA has once again crossed a significant milestone. Known for its world class facilities, T2 opened doors for its very first domestic flight Air Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines. This is the first domestic airline to commence its services from T2 and began its operations from 9 January, 2015. Presently, it operates four flights between Mumbai and Delhi. The domestic operations are being carried out from level 3 at the T2 where guests have access to food and beverage services and can also experience T2’s exclusive retail outlets. The domestic passengers have a common check-in from level 4. Our Founder Chairman and Managing Director Dr GVK Reddy, Vice Chairman Mr Sanjay Reddy, CEO-MIAL Mr Rajeev Jain along with Tata Chairman Cyrus P Mistry welcomed the guests on-board the first flight from T3, Delhi to T2, Mumbai. These included dignitaries like CEO-Singapore Airlines, Goh Choon Pong; Chairman-Vistara, Prasad Menon; Chairman-GMR Group, GM Rao; CEO-Airbus India, Dr Srinivasan Dwarakanath and more. In a journey towards becoming the most sought after airport in the country, GVK CSIA has once again crossed a significant milestone. Known for its world class facilities, T2 opened doors for its very first domestic flight Air Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines. This is the first domestic airline to commence its services from T2 and began its operations from 9 January, 2015. Presently, it operates four flights between Mumbai and Delhi.

GVK MIAL and MRS organise National Flower ShowGVK MIAL and Mumbai Rose Society (MRS) organised the second edition of the National Flower Show on January 17 and 18. The 56th Rose Show of MRS saw various varieties of exotic plants and flowers on display like Jarbera, Oriental Lilies, Bird of Paradise, Orchids Helecarius, Tulips from Holland and distinct varieties of roses and medicinal plants. For the first time in India, carnivorous plants i.e. insect eating plants were also displayed. Several corporate houses as well as plant growers from West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra participated in this exotic flower show. The show was a huge success with more than 20,000 visitors who were enthralled by the display of flower arrangements like Bonsai and much more. Our congratulations to Dr Narendra Hosabettu and other teams including Admin, E&M, Cargo, Security, Real Estate, Corp. Comm. & Finance for extending whole-hearted support to the horticulture team led by Mr. Hanumant Raje at MIAL for putting up this show in collaboration with the Mumbai Rose Society.

GVK KIA’s ‘Season of Smiles’ fulfils dreams of homeless kids

Swine Flu awareness session at the Corporate Office

As a part of month long extravaganza, ‘Season of Smiles’, GVK KIA invited 70 children from Sarvodaya Service Society, an NGO that provides shelter to homeless children. Being a socially responsible organisation, GVK KIA fulfilled their wishes by rewarding them with scholarships to help them pursue their education, books, toys and sports equipment. An interesting puppet show was also organised for the children along with a photo session at the end.

An awareness session on the prevention and cure of H1N1 influenza (Swine Flu) was conducted at the Corporate Office, Hyderabad. The session was conducted by Dr Gopi Krishna Yedlapati, MBBS, MD (Pulmonary Medicine) who briefed the employees about this fatal disease. The session witnessed active participation from senior executives like Mr John Fernandes, President-Gas; Mr K Divakar, GM-HR; Mr Subrahmanyam Kolachana, GM-HR; Mr Raghunath R, Vice President-Materials; Mr Srinivas Sagi, Vice President-IT and other associates at the corporate office. Swine flu is a highly contagious respiratory disease in pigs caused by one of several swine influenza A viruses.

Road Safety Week at GVK CSIAGVK CSIA conducted the Road Safety Week from 12-17 January, 2015. This initiative was flagged of by the Jt. Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Dr B. K. Upadhyay, IPS at an inaugural function hosted at T2, GVK CSIA. Also, gracing the occasion were Padma Shri Dr. Sundaram Natarajan, CMD-Aditya Jyot Hospital, Mumbai; Shri Sanjay Bramhane, Director- Air Safety, DGCA; Mr Virender Pratap Singh, Assistant Vice President – Facilities, GVK MIAL; Dr Narendra Hosabettu, Executive VP Environment, GVK MIAL; Mr Hemant Apte, Senior Vice President–Engineering and Maintenance, GVK MIAL. GVK MIAL leveraged this opportunity to enhance awareness among the people and focus on improving safety while travelling by advancing road safety in and around GVK CSIA, and in the airside where safe vehicle operations is a key to ensuring safety of aircraft operations as well.

Road Safety Week at Gautami CCPPGautami CCPP conducted the Road Safety Week for its employees and contract workers at the site from 11-17 January, 2015. The training program on Road Safety was led by the Safety Manager, Mr B. V. Raghavulu. The week long event witnessed wide range of activities like quiz competition for employees, contract workers and colony residents, training programs on defensive driving, AV on road safety and oath taking ceremony for employees.

Jaipur-Kishangarh Expressway Project conducts Road Safety WeekDuring Jaipur-Kishangarh Expressway Project’s Road Safety Week, booklets on road safety were distributed to all the cars that crossed the toll. The event was inaugurated by Mr Mahmood Khan - Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police, Rajasthan in the presence of GVK key personnel including Mr VVN Murthy-Manager, Route Operations; Mr Pyare Lal Nehra - Officer, Route & Security and Mr Zaheer Khan, Manager - Toll Operations.

Vivanta by Taj cares for childrenThe Community Development Action Group (CDAG) of Vivanta by Taj - Begumpet, Hyderabad along with their family members spent a day with the children at Thara Homes, a charitable, non-profit organization that primarily works for the welfare of children. The hotel staff served snacks to the children and played a cricket match with them. The hotel also donated 50 kg ‘Wheel’ detergent powder to the NGO as part of its cleanliness initiatives.

Fun Games at GVK BIOGVK BIO employees welcomed the New Year by participating in various fun games organised by the Prism Team. GVK EMRI and World Bank conducted the first-of-its-kind ERT (Emergency Response Training) program in the north-east. The program was inaugurated by Mr Santanu Sarma, COO, GVK EMRI - Assam in the presence of Dr Anupam Borgohain, Head - EMLC, Dhurjoti Prasad - Marketing and Communication and Mr. Ratnakar - EMLC HO. Around 24 participants from various govt. hospitals across Assam attended the program.

To enhance preparedness for its security staff, GVK one conducted a mock drill session to counter terrorist attacks. The security staff actively participated in the session to hone their emergency handling skills. A fire safety training was also conducted for the security staff and employees to educate them regarding fire related emergencies.

To celebrate the spirit of Republic Day, GVK one organized a FLASH 50% Sale to delight its customers. The event had all the international merchandise on great discounts.

GVK EMRI-Himachal Pradesh celebrated four years of operations across the state on 26 Dec, 2014. To commemorate the occasion, EM Care magazine was unveiled. The stakeholders were given away 108 photo frames and EM Care winners were honoured.

GVK EMRI ambulances have benefited more than 3,500 mothers and their newborns in Himachal Pradesh in two months under the Janani Express-102 scheme. The scheme which was launched on 15 Nov, 2014 offers free drop-back facility to the mothers and newborns to promote institutional deliveries and help reduce the infant and maternal mortality rate. Since its inception, the service has helped increase the rate of institutional deliveries with over 80 percent deliveries being done in health institutions.

World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 to spread cancer awareness and encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008. The primary goal of the World Cancer Day is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer by 2020. Taking place under the tagline ‘Not beyond us’, World Cancer Day 2015 will take a positive and proactive approach to the fight against cancer, highlighting that solutions do exist across the continuum of cancer, and that they are within our reach. By moving forward together we have the potential to show that Cancer - It is not beyond us.

GVK EMRI - Andhra Pradesh conducted skill development session for its ambulance crew for Srikakulam and Vizianagaram as part of the employee engagement activity. The interactive session included a training session on emergency care followed by a written and practical exam.

Shivaji Jayanti or the birthday of Shivaji Maharaj is celebrated on a majestic scale in Maharashtra. His parents Jijabai and Shahaji Bhonsle named him Shivaji after local Goddess Shivai. He was the creator of the Maratha nation and was instrumental in uniting the Maratha chiefs of Maval, Konkan and Desh regions.

His military and civil administration was of greatest importance. Shivaji was successful in carving out a small kingdom by defeating the alien powers.
