Vista Driver Installation Instructions 1. Go to START and then CONTROL PANEL.
2. Click on PRINTER under HARDWARE AND SOUND.
3. Click on the ADD A PRINTER button underneath the address bar.
4. Choose ADD A LOCAL PRINTER and click the NEXT button.
5. If you are using an Ethernet connection on your computer, choose CREATE A NEW PORT and choose STANDARD TCP/IP PORT. Click NEXT.
If you are using the parallel port on your computer, choose USE AN EXISTING PORT and click NEXT. Proceed to Step #9.
6. For the Device Type, choose TCP/IP Device from the drop down list. Enter the Printer’s IP address on the Hostname or IP address line. The Port name will pre-fill. Uncheck the box next to Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use. Click NEXT.
7. Windows Vista will automatically attempt to detect the TCP/IP address. If the address is found, go to step 9; if the address is not found, go onto step 8.
8. From the drop down list choose NETWORK PRINT SERVER (1 PORT). There are 2 in the list, choose the first one. Click NEXT.
9. Choose HAVE DISK and then click NEXT.
10. Click the BROWSE button.
11. From the LOOK IN line, direct the path to the folder that contains the decompressed files. The default path is C:\ENCAD\DRIVERS\VISTA
12. Click the OK button.
13. Choose your printer model and size from the list and click NEXT.
14. Verify the Printer Name is the correct printer. You can choose to set this as your default printer by checking the box next to “Set as the default printer”. Click NEXT.
15. Click the PRINT A TEST PAGE button if you want to test your connectivity. Click the FINISH button.
16. A new printer icon can now be found in the Printers folder.
