1.) Check your preconceived notions about specific grapes at the door. A grape is only a grape and can

be made into a variety of styles of wine. Vineyard location, harvest decisions and winemaking

techniques can make a huge difference.

2.) Taste wines OUTSIDE of your comfort zone or normal preferences along with a few wines in your

preferred grapes and styles, but from different wineries. A tasting event is a great chance to explore,

and you don’t have to figure out what to do with the rest of the bottle if you don’t like it.

3.) Always, and especially if trying many styles, remember to start with dry, but light flavoured wines,

then move up to heavier and finally sweeter.

4.) If you start to feel tipsy, spit your wines out. This will ensure you maximize the number of wines you

can try so you get the most out of the time available. You can always go back to drinking your

samples later.

What’s the best part of your job? Sharing my passion for wine with wine enthusiasts.

Are there any details you would like to share about your personal background or experience? My

Italian grandfather has been a wine producer, oil producer, cheese maker, and food merchant since

1919.

What is your favourite wine from your portfolio? For a sommelier, all wines are special and unique.

Who has been your biggest mentor or inspiration in the wine industry? Manuela Cornelii, a council

member of the Association of Italian Sommeliers has been my biggest mentor.

Do you have any advice for people attending events like Winefest? In order to appreciate and analyze

wine, the name, price, or label should never influence you.

shore of Lake Balaton, providing excellent opportunity to produce fresh, elegant and stylish white wines
