Adam was the first king and steward of the rightly
ordered Garden of Eden He was called to govern
the garden according to Godrsquos mind and purpose
but by allowing negative influences to wreak havoc
on Eden he did not fulfill his kingly responsibility
Long after Adam David emerged as the definitive
king who would restore order in the Garden and
bring the world under the lordship of God But
like Adam David fell and his reign ushered in a
succession of compromised kings and rejected
prophets The New Testament however foretold a
son of David who would realize the fullness of
Israelite kingshipbut whose actual reign defied
expectation

SCHOOL MINISTRY NEWS
Last weekend the OLF middle school
speech team participated at the Bishop
Blanchet Speech Tournament We sent 25
7th and 8th grade students to compete with almost
400 other contestants from many other schools in the
area Several students placed as finalists including
Jessica McDowall who placed 1st in Junior
Impromptu and Cosette Fleury who placed 1st in
Senior Oratory
Our robotics team hosted the final event which
included teams from St Matthews Seattle Nativity
Lake Stevens St Joes and OLF All eight of OLFs
teams played in the final rounds with one team
earning the highest score in an alliance with a team
from St Matthews With this top score the team of
Ethan Berg Gavin Legere and Alex Wathen will
head to the State Finals in February Next up for the
team Fatima is hosting a regional tournament on
January 13 with teams coming from all over
Washington State We are proud of both these teams
their participants and the coaches who support these
programs
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and look
forward to seeing you in the New Year

LIFE A new Right To Life Group is
starting at OLF This group will study
direct and facilitate RTL activities in
our Parish and may coordinate with other similar
groups in our area We have a beginning nucleus of
good people who hope that you too can find the

1020 in the school The curriculum is grade specific

during 1030 mass for children aged 4-6
Lessons are specific to this age group

We often hear from parishioners who want to know how their donations of Time - Talent - Treasure are making a difference in the lives of others
bull Through our Operation Magi Project 150 individuals received Christmas gifts St Vincent de Paul Society received $20000 in cash gifts The Menrsquos Shelter hosted 520 men fed them dinner breakfast and lunch and provided personal toiletries St Francis House received 108 dozen hard boiled eggs and many hand made sandwiches this past year
bull We were able to provide 33 students with scholarships for Catholic education
bull 12 Faith Team volunteers were able to begin a Middle School Youth Ministry Program
bull New Hymnals were purchased including the updates of the Roman Missal bull Our parish celebrated joyfully the centennial of our Ladyrsquos apparition at
Fatima through monthly events a Parish Mission the blessing of a new Fatima statue and much more

Its a busy afternoon for CYO basketball and our
meeting time has been adjusted so all can attend
Arrive hungry - well have pizza for dinner Were
also doing our end-of-the-year service project -
Making sack lunches for our neighbors at Tent City
5 Plus well have games and activities - a great
gathering to end our semester in service and fun

We often hear from parishioners who want to know how their donations of Time - Talent - Treasure are making a difference in the lives of others
bull Through our Operation Magi Project 150 individuals received Christmas gifts St Vincent de Paul Society received $20000 in cash gifts The Menrsquos Shelter hosted 520 men fed them dinner breakfast and lunch and provided personal toiletries St Francis House received 108 dozen hard boiled eggs and many hand made sandwiches this past year
bull We were able to provide 33 students with scholarships for Catholic education
bull 12 Faith Team volunteers were able to begin a Middle School Youth Ministry Program
bull New Hymnals were purchased including the updates of the Roman Missal bull Our parish celebrated joyfully the centennial of our Ladyrsquos apparition at
Fatima through monthly events a Parish Mission the blessing of a new Fatima statue and much more
Your giving is helping to make our parish and our community a better place

SCHOOL MINISTRY NEWS
Last weekend the OLF middle school
speech team participated at the Bishop
Blanchet Speech Tournament We sent 25
7th and 8th grade students to compete with almost
400 other contestants from many other schools in the
area Several students placed as finalists including
Jessica McDowall who placed 1st in Junior
Impromptu and Cosette Fleury who placed 1st in
Senior Oratory
Our robotics team hosted the final event which
included teams from St Matthews Seattle Nativity
Lake Stevens St Joes and OLF All eight of OLFs
teams played in the final rounds with one team
earning the highest score in an alliance with a team
from St Matthews With this top score the team of
Ethan Berg Gavin Legere and Alex Wathen will
head to the State Finals in February Next up for the
team Fatima is hosting a regional tournament on
January 13 with teams coming from all over
Washington State We are proud of both these teams
their participants and the coaches who support these
programs
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and look
forward to seeing you in the New Year

starting at OLF This group will study
direct and facilitate RTL activities in
our Parish and may coordinate with other similar
groups in our area We have a beginning nucleus of

Parish Center for a Pizza Party amp Service Project
Its a busy afternoon for CYO basketball and our
meeting time has been adjusted so all can attend
Arrive hungry - well have pizza for dinner Were
also doing our end-of-the-year service project -
Making sack lunches for our neighbors at Tent City
5 Plus well have games and activities - a great
gathering to end our semester in service and fun
Edge will resume after Christmas Break on Jan 7th

bull Through our Operation Magi Project 150 individuals received Christmas gifts St Vincent de Paul Society received $20000 in cash gifts The Menrsquos Shelter hosted 520 men fed them dinner breakfast and lunch and provided personal toiletries St Francis House received 108 dozen hard boiled eggs and many hand made sandwiches this past year
bull We were able to provide 33 students with scholarships for Catholic education
bull 12 Faith Team volunteers were able to begin a Middle School Youth Ministry Program
bull New Hymnals were purchased including the updates of the Roman Missal bull Our parish celebrated joyfully the centennial of our Ladyrsquos apparition at
Fatima through monthly events a Parish Mission the blessing of a new Fatima statue and much more
