PROCESS STEPS – STEP 1

Step 1 (Refer point 1 in map): Note your interview time. Do not reach more

than 20 minutes in advance. There are no waiting rooms. You will have to stand unnecessarily outside in open.

Around the time of your interview slot, you will be asked to stand in the queue outside the consulate building. There will be consulate supervisors asking your interview time & make you either stand in the queue or ask you to wait away. Your passport & interview invitation letter will be verified at this place.


Step 2: Keep your interview letter & Passport ready in

your hands. No mobiles, backpacks, bags, electronic devices

allowed at any time inside consulate. Edibles allowed in small quantity. But, security

have all rights to deny any of it inside. Only plastic/paper bag to keep your documents

is allowed.


Step 3 (Refer point 3 in map): You will be given a token number with bar-code

glued to your passport after verifying your passport and interview letter.

You will also receive a brochure about the complete visa process there.

Proceed for security check after you receive your token number. You will require to take off belt, valet, watch or anything available in your pocket.

You will be asked to put everything in a plastic basket and get it scanned through security machine.

After passing through security you will be asked to proceed to shaded waiting area.

PROCESS STEPS – STEP 4, 5 & 6

Step 4 (Refer point 4 in map): There is a shaded waiting area provided with

adequate sitting arrangement in this area to wait for your turn. Security In change will allow people to enter consulate in a small number. (Preference given to application with family with infant child)

Step 5 (Refer point 5 in map): Enter through main entrance which opens to Help

Desk. Step 6 (Refer point 6 in map):

This help desk is to get any additional information required for your visa process and brochure of procedure explaining visa process

PROCESS STEPS – STEP 7 & 8

Step 7 (Refer point 7 in map): Join the queue for biometric registration. You will be called as per your stand in the queue. Office

available on any of these windows will scan the token number bar-code and collect your finger impressions.

All 10 fingers will be scanned in following order Left hand 4 fingers – Right hand 4 fingers – Both thumbs

together Step 8 (Refer point 8 in map):

After biometric registration you will be asked to wait in the waiting area.

There are many LCD displays provided which shows token number along with respective windows.

Also above every window, a small LCD display provided which shows order of the token number to be processed in that particular window. Please keep an eye on your token number and keep yourself ready in front of respective window in same order as displayed on screen of that window.


Step 9 (Refer point 9 in map): These are your main interview counters. They look like railway

booking counter (no more cabins in new consulate). As your number comes, attend your visa interview.

You may greet the interviewer with a smile and “Good Morning” or “Good afternoon”

Please listen carefully for the questions and be attentive all the time.

After your interview is over, you will be informed on the same window if you are granted a Visa and your passport will be taken for Visa stamping. If your Visa is not granted, your passport will be returned immediately along with a reason sheet marked with brief explanation. (In some cases they may keep the passport and still ask for some additional documents to be submitted personally, by fax or mail)

Proceed to exit after you keep all your documents securely in your carry bag


Step 10 (Refer point 10 in map): This is your exit route. Please follow the signs for exit Do not sit/stand inside consulate for long time.
