• No. Your contribution in support of the football team chaplain program is made through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

• All gifts to the FCA are “tax deductible” under charitable giving, but they cannot be counted toward your giving to Virginia Tech.

• The team chaplain project cannot be supported by University funds to respect each person’s freedom and right to choose a spiritual direction.

• Our committee fully supports this important organizational design. We ask that you consider becoming that “somebody else”, turning a great idea into a great action.

Why is this great programlimited to the football team?

• Our committee agrees… it doesn’t have to be. The sky’s the limit!

• Our committee has a vision of extending the chaplain program to the other NCAA sports, including women’s sports. But we must establish a sustainable program first.
