Windows 7 – Using Windows Media PlayerTo Create a Music Playlist

Windows 7 allows you to create a personal music playlist using a free program called Windows Media Player. You can also do this for your photos and for videos.WHAT IS A PLAYLIST?

A playlist of music is a selection of your favorite music from different music artists.OPENING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

1. Click the Start button.2. Type Windows Media Player into the Search box and hit Enter.

CREATING A PLAYLIST FROM THE LIBRARY

1. Click on Music when the Library window opens. 2. Click Create Playlist. Notice – A box opens under Playlists that says

“Untitled playlist”

Your new playlist will appear under the Playlist heading. In the example below, the new playlist title is My Favorite Music.

ADDING MUSIC TO YOUR PERSONAL PLAYLIST

1. Go to the Music Library. 2. Click on either Artist, Album or Genre to display all your music in the

Library.3. Point and double click on the album to open and view the songs

(tracks).4. Click, hold, drag and drop the song into your new Playlist.5. Repeat steps 2-4 until you have added all the music to your Playlist.

EXAMPLE: In the picture below, we are adding the song titled “Heat of the Sun” to the Playlist titled “My Favorite Music”.

PLAYING MUSIC INSIDE YOUR PLAYLIST1. Double click on the Playlist name. This will open and begin to play

the music.
