Creative Climate Leadership in Action Grants and MentoringAs part of the Creative Climate Leadership programme, we are pleased to be able to offer up to five CCL in Action grants of €1,200 each to support you to develop your own CCL project and put into practice your learning from the training course. Each financial grant will also include 4-6 mentoring sessions with an expert in the culture / climate space matched to the specific needs of your activity (the exact number of sessions will depend on the mentor).

All CCL alumni are eligible to apply.

Assessment Principles: CCL in Action Grants and Mentorship

Create Climate Leadership aims to build the capacity for cultural action on the environment. We want to support a range of ideas that demonstrate the diversity and range of cultural responses to environmental challenges, and the vibrancy and creativity of the CCL community.

We invite you to submit applications for activities that:

Identify a specific need in your community Can demonstrate impact Continue to build capacity in your broader networks Involve high quality partnerships Are working towards a clear legacy and next steps

Crucially, we want to understand why this activity, and why now. We want to support alumni to undertake projects that fit into their personal Creative Climate Leadership journey and will enable you to unlock future projects, resources, and work in this field.

We want to support your personal approach and capacity to drive change. Your proposed activity may take any shape – it could be an event, artwork, exhibition, publication, research, or any other format you can think of – as long as you can explain why this approach is the best way to achieve your aims.

Terms and Conditions

The proposed activity may develop a new project, significantly develop an existing project in a way that would be impossible without a grant,, or a further activity that builds on your dissemination event. Activities must be delivered between the 1 June 2017 and the 28 February 2018. Grant recipients will need to provide a full evaluation (‘final report’) in English at the latest 30 days after the completion of the activity and mentoring.

The grants can be used to cover the costs of: working time/salary (within limits), event costs, publication costs, materials, PR, travel, accommodation, or similar.

They cannot be used towards the cost of alcohol, private taxis, or equipment or depreciation costs. We expect the final budget for any activity to be signed off with the CCL team. Costs will need to be evidenced through receipts, invoices, and payslips as requested.

Mentors will be appointed by the CCL team based on consultation with the grant recipient on their needs and activity focus.

Applications must be submitted to the CCL team by 9 AM GMT on the 18 May 2017.Those who are successful will be notified by the 26 May 2017.

The grants will be made in two instalments. €800 of the grant will be paid upon successful application as a ‘pre-financing’ payment, and the remaining €400 will be paid upon submission of the final report after the end of the activity You will need to sign a grant agreement with Julie’s Bicycle and PiNA.

If you are already a recipient of a CCL training course grant, you may still apply for one of the CCL in Action grants.

To apply for a grant please submit the following information by 9 AM GMT on the 18 May 2017 as attached document(s) to ccl@juliesbicycle.com. Try and keep your answers focused and concise. If your responses are shorter than the suggested word limit, don’t worry!

7. How does this activity fit into the development and growth of your creative climate work? Why is this grant and mentoring important at this stage? (max 200 words)

8. List any partners for the activity and whether their participation has already been confirmed. (max 100 words)

9. Please provide a brief activity plan, including start and end dates of your activity, project stages, and dates of key milestones.

10. List any key risks you have identified in relation to the delivery of your proposed activity (max 100 words)

11. Please attach a draft budget for the activity, or include a brief breakdown of costs below, including any additional sources of income or in-kind support and whether these have been confirmed or not.
