Areas of Interest: Nano photonics and Microelectronics: The topic of his Ph.D. work pertains to the demonstration of a colorimetric label-free refractive index and thickness sensor using hybrid mode plasmon imaging on engineered nanostructures. The proposed imaging sensing technique with engineered plasmonic nanostructures is found to be a promising tool to distinguish refractive index and thickness induced surface modifications for both thin and thick analytes. The purpose of the work is to establish the foundation of stain-free, on-chip, color-contrast imaging sensor, where the optical image read-out of the sensor could be visually interpreted for surface modifications.
