DESCRIPTION:Commission
Along with HWKN, Diller Scofido + Renfro, LOT-EK, Jurgen Mayer H Architects, Joel Sanders Architect
Clusters of flowers were used both as a spatial and formal prototype to generate social porosity. A less defined boundary between individuals and the homes they occupy will activate social interactions. An individual occupies a series of volumes and ambiances, identifying themselves within a cluster of diverse individuals. Various levels of Private and Public, Indoor, Outdoor, and Covered Spaces run through this porous cluster of houses. Within the larger LGBT Resort one can easily identify themselves as living within this grove of flowering homes. At the micro level, the boundaries of any one individual unit is blurred to increase the awareness of community and to stress the importance of neighborly interactions. Being one of the first neighborhoods of the LGBT Resort to be seen from Da Vall Drive, an iconic and unforgettable form was needed to serve as an anchor point for the community. A series of repeatable elements were created that read both as individual objects and as a uniform whole. This composition of perpendicular elements creates a soft, deep facade that invites people to visit not only the neighborhood Sadar+Vuga designed, but the entire LGBT Resort Community. Homes flower upward and bloom outward within this grove to create, and exist within a space that blurs the boundaries of public and private. All homes are comprised of two halfs, an Indoor Home and an Outdoor Home. Each Outdoor Home blends into the surrounding public space, making impromptu meeting between neighbors the norm. Allowing each home to collectively Own the meandering in-between public space dramatically increases the possibility for unplanned and community wide events to take place.

DESCRIPTION: Invited Competition
The K66 site is the first development of the martinska masterplan and its design approach should be a catalyst for the future growth of the entire area. Set in a time of crisis, opportunistic speculative development is unsuitable. Instead our proposal is to provide added value and meaning to the community.
The main feature of the masterplan is a large conic shaped park, designed to function as the armature of the district. The Window to the park complex acts as a terminating focal point for this park and stands as a connector between the new masterplan and the existing residential urban fabric. To reflect this condition, the development functions as a landmark when viewed from the park but is fragmented on the residential side to resemble the scale and forms of the surrounding buildings.
The massing of the Residential Ribbon is a result of the application of strict environmental parameters such as solar gain, light gain, access to prevailing winds, views and privacy. The Ribbon is primarily residential but in the Western, part includes a 150-room hotel. At least six types of apartments could be found in the residential complex all categorized according to their position and orientation, as well as their size.

DESCRIPTION:Product Design and Research
Hoja is Slovenias leading manufacturer of Laminated Veneer Lumber structures. Recently purchased by our client, he sought to find new ways to expand the companies market and to develop new, innovative ways to use the products they already produce. In Slovenia there is a growing market for quickly and easily constructed garages, sheds, and event shelters, Hoja sought to find ways to enter this market specifically.
Hoja currently stock manufactures 6 types of LVL structures, Beam with Curved Axle, Framework Style, Beam with Bond, Curved Beam with Bond, Parallel Bond Beam, and Beam with Slope. Our task became to utilize these 6 types of beams in developing a contemporary structure that would have to fit into the many contexts of Slovenia, from rural village to suburban villa.
Inspiration came from the traditional Slovenian Kozolec, or Hayrack, that one can see all over the countryside. Slovenians grow up learning about the unique way in which these structures are built, it seemed the best place to start in making a structure that had to appeal to a large audience. Through further analysis, and visits to many Hayracks, what became more interesting than the kozolec itself was the state of disrepair many were in. Soon, the decaying structures we all normally seek to replace became the key inspiration for our development of this new Hoja Structure. We sought to replicate the unique shapes these sheds and coverings take as they grow old and settle. A new Hoja structure could now comfortably sit within a field next to a one-hundred year old structure, in the driveway of a suburban household, or shelter groups of people in an urban park,

4DESCRIPTION:Invited Competition
The Intercity project is located at large area within the development area next to the new main railway station (Houptbahnhof) in Vienna. Because of its location, the Intercity Project will become the first contact a visitor will have with the city of Vienna.
The Intercity should be an attractive and interesting city district with high quality living and working conditions. The Intercity should be a hybrid district, where high-profitability business facilities are in tune with the hotels of a new quality and with public inner and exterior areas with memorable ambient and experience atmosphere.
The proposal is to build six hexagonal buildings (baukoerper) that would be sitting on four islands (insel). The islands mark the podium for the buildings. The size, the shape and the space between the four islands determines the character of the external space for the city level
All buildings have two layers to the facade: the simple internal glass is surrounded with environmental membrane. A narrow service hall separates the glass from the membrane. The membrane is made from fixed modular elements from ceramics and their size varies according to the position on the faced.

DESCRIPTIONCommission
MAKS will be erected on the site of the existing and vacated industrial building of Merinka spinning and weaving factory, located on top of the 25m high left bank of the river Drava in Maribor. As the first public-programme building within the degraded post-industrial area of Studenci, MAKS will become the catalyst of urban regeneration of the entire area both due to its distinctive appearance within the wider urban space and the activities it will host throughout the day. It will act as an attractor, bringing people in its part of the city both to visit an exhibition or to shop, eat at a restaurant, or relax high above the riverfront. From here, an image reveals itself like a postcard of the entire city, complete with hill Piramida in the background. From here, the city seems like a spectacle.
MAKS integrates the generic character of the industrial environment in which it is placed with the buildings specific visibility from the city centre and the wonderful view of the city. It is precisely this duality, the interplay between the neutrality of the black boxes, whose space can be adapted
to host any event or activity and where performances for up to 650 spectators take place in a soundstage-like space, and the (pro)scenic attractiveness of the location, where each event in the Centre becomes an event for the city.
The width of MAKSs raised platform extending over the riverfront becomes an identifying feature of the entire city, its landmark. While the Grand Foyer unfolds under the raised platform, above it, the Garden occupies what is essentially the roof of MAKS, the great city
belvedere. Inside the platform, the Salon, Maribors big urban living room, is created.
