Have you ever been to Seville?

MapsSeville is in southern Spain. It is the capital city of the autonomus community of Andalusia.

Seville is more than 2,000 years old. The passage of the various civilizations instrumental in its growth has left the city a distinct personality, and a large and well-preserved historical center. Although it has a strong medieval, renaissance and baroque heritage, the city was greatly influenced by Arabic culture. The number of inhabitants is 704.198.

Climate

The climate of Seville is a Mediterranean climate - continental, but is also influenced by ocean climate.

Excellent climate all year round, with plenty of sunny days. The annual average is 18 , it shows that it is one of the hottest European cities.

In winter, enjoy mild temperatures in the summer heat can be stifling at times, exceeding 45 degrees at times

- Seville is also known for its many tapa bars (bars which serves a small snack). Among the more popular tapas in Sevilla are 'Jamon y Queso' (Spanish ham and cheese), 'Pinchos Morunos' (spicy meat ala shish kebab) and 'Boquerones in Vinagre' (small fish which has been marinated in vinegar for day).

- Gaspacho Recipe- Ingredients: 8 Tomatoes- 2 Small Cucumbers- 1 Clove of Garlic- 1/2 Onion- 2 Green Peppers- 3 Spoons Olive Oil Vinegar, salt, pepper and water.- Apart from the above ingredients you need a blender.

- To prepare a good Gaspacho is a simple and quick job. First Clean and part the vegetables. Then puree all ingredients in a blender for about 5-10 minutes. Strain, discarding any vegetable pieces that did not puree fully. The Gaspacho is served best cold.

Just set it apart from the last two weeks, and although its beginnings were commercial and livestock, the April Fair of Seville has become the epitome of singing and dancing in Seville.

Easter is one of the most important cultural events of a religious nature, that occurs every year in the municipalities of the province of Seville, with its peak in the city.

EconomySeville is a city that has maintained much of its heritage.

That is why cultural tourism and leisure, are prominent as the sources of income for the city, although industry is the most important economic engine of this city.

La Torre del Oro (English: "Gold Tower") is a dodecagonal military watchtower in Seville, southern Spain, built by the Almohad dynasty in order to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir river.

Constructed in the first third of the 13th century, the tower served as a prison during the Middle Ages and as a secure enclosure for the protection of precious metals periodically brought by the fleet of the Indies, another possible origin for the tower's name.

La Giralda is a former minaret that was converted to a bell tower for the Cathedral of Seville in Seville. The tower is 104.5 m (343 ft) in height and it was one of the most important symbols in the medieval city.

Santa Mara Magdalena is a Baroque church in Seville, southern Spain.

It was built in 1691-1709 under design of architect Leonardo de Figueroa, above a medieval church built after the Christian conquest of the city in 1248.

The faade has three portals, one featuring a sculpture of "St. Dominic" by Pedro Roldn. Above the portals are an oculus, sided by two blue spheres symbolizing the mystery of the rosary, and a bell-gable (1697). All the exterior of the church is characterized by a large use of blue and red decorative motifs.

Reales Alczares de Sevilla (English: The Alczar or "Royal Alcazars of Seville") is a royal palace in Seville, Spain, originally a Moorish fort.

The Almohades were the first to build a palace, which was called Al-Muwarak, on the site of the modern day Alczar. The palace is one of the best remaining examples of mudjar architecture. Subsequent monarchs have added their own additions to the Alczar. The upper levels of the Alczar are still used by the royal family as the official Seville residence and are administered by the Patrimonio Nacional.

La Plaza de Espaa ("Spain Square", in English) is a plaza located in the Parque de Mara Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of the Renaissance Revival style in Spanish architecture.
