ATHLETIC NEWS

Please use our TPA School Calendar to find updates on TPA Athletics games, dates, and locations. Titan Top Ten Wrestlers The Knights Varsity wrestling team competed in their first invitational of the season and had 5 wrestlers finish in the top ten out of a 33 team tournament. Congratulations to 6th place finishers, Louis Ternyik, Nick Murray and Michael Louton as well as top ten finishers Gabriel Ross and Texas Perez. With almost every weight class filled this winter the Knights will be looking to make a strong push as a team in Division IV wrestling sectionals at the end of the season with a chance to represent TPA at the State Championships in Prescott. Winter Sports Guide in your hands Our colorful, personal, and professional winter sports guide, created by Mr. Bob Schuster working with the Athletic Office, was distributed two weeks ago. The eldest (or only) student from each family at TPA was given a copy. Please look for yours from your student. Extra copies are available in the Athletic Office for $10.00 per copy. Here is a letter from AD Brittain regarding the essence of true victory as a TPA Knight. Need Help Paying for Your Child’s TPA Fees? 50/50 Tax Credit Voucher Program Tempe Prep offers a way to make more funding available for extra-curriculars called the 50/50 Tax Credit Voucher Program. When a student’s neighbor, relative, or friend makes a donation to our Tax Credit Program, 50% can go directly to the student to pay for any of that student’s fees. This at no cost to the donor. To qualify, these donations must be from a first-time donor, the donation must be unrestricted, the donor may not be a parent of a TPA student, and when you fill out the form, the donor must list the name of the student who will receive the voucher. Click HERE to view a printable list of program details with participation form or click HERE to donate online. And thanks so much for your support of TPA’s extra-curriculars. A true WIN-WIN: $25.00 Big 5 Gift Card for each winner! There are many victories that happen in the sphere of athletics at TPA that go far beyond a reported score to the Arizona Interscholastic Association. These can be captured and recognized through the Win-word ® drop-box found outside the Athletic Office. You as a parent or as a student-athlete can drop your entry in writing at any time between today and the end of the semester. These are commendations of the team, the coach, a particular student-athlete from TPA or even an “outside the lines” event of admirable service and excellence described in 25 - 50 words. Winners will be announced on the last day of finals so please make sure to write your complete name on your words of encouragement in the Win-Word ® drop box. All commended individuals will be notified in writing by A.D. Brittain of your words of encouragement.
