MapDraw accesses Google Maps to let you view

For companies that fabricate their ownvinyl we have developed the VinylFabricator. Vinyl Fabricator figures Flat,

each estimate or not, and editable by the

user or not.

You can create Labor Categories, displayed

in the left hand column and have multiple

Sub-Categories, displayed as tabs across

the top of the calculation dashboard. The

program will default to either Margin or

Markup, whichever way you currently have

CFS set up. Custom labor items can be

added 'on the fly' while you are working in

the program.

A Minimum Labor Charge can be setup as

an always recurring amount or as a dynamic

amount where values for other items se-

lected are deducted from the minimum labor charge until the minimum labor charge has been

reached. It comes with a functional sample configuration.

Specifications and Fab Drawings

Arched, Scalloped, Double Arched, DoubleScalloped, Down Sloped Ends, Up Sloped Ends,Alternate Picket Height, Peak, Valley, and Cus-tom fence styles.

It produces a Shop Drawing on screen, includ-ing dimensions and specifications as youdesign the fence from the profiles in your datafile.

You can combine up to 5 different pickets intoa pattern, each with an optional cap. Picketscan insert into or attach to rails. Differentpickets can have different spacing.

The program calculates picket lengths andspacing for unlimited variations of designs. Thecost of any waste (less than three feet in length)is calculated into the parts that are produced. Itcontrols vinyl inventory. We have plug in profilemodules available for most extruders andseveral accessory suppliers.

Vinyl Fabricator produces cut sheets for allmaterial on the job for both standard andcustom designs. It even calculates picket lengthsto create perfect arches and scallops, in anydegree of arc.

The Vinyl Fabricator can calculate each stretch offence in any of five different post spacing op-tions: Proportional, Field Fit Proportional, Re-mainder, Round to Full Section, and Featherspacing.

Proportional Spacing is figured with all sec-tions in each stretch being of equal length. Railswill be cut exactly and the post & picket spacingcan vary stretch to stretch. This option worksbetter with narrow picket patterns or large gapsbetween pickets.

Field Fit Proportional Spacing calculates all ofthe sections in the stretch proportionally butkeeps the picket spacing the same as the origi-nal design to preserve exact picket spacing.

Remainder Spacing calculates all full lengthsections with the last section in the stretch fabri-cated to fill in the remainder.

Round to Full Section Spacing calculates allfull length sections. There will be some left overmaterial with this setting.

Feather Spacing is like remainder spacing witha twist. On stretches of three or more sections,the two end sections will be the same and themiddle of the stretch will be full sections. Theends will never be less than half a section.

The Vinyl Fabricator can calculate in fractions orin decimals. It also takes into account all of thecuts, routes, waste, notches and rotation chargesand optional assembly costs.

You design a Standard Spec and the Vinyl Fabri-cator produces drawings, an exact list of materi-als, as either sections, posts, and gates or item-ized individually. It will talk directly to both SSDand CMM computerized routers.

Wood ScratchBuilderWood Scratch Builder has the versatility toadapt itself to any type or style of woodfencing. It operates in three distinctmodes: Pre-Built for companies that installwood panels and/or pre-fab those in theshop, Scratch Built for those that stick buildon site, and the new Wood Fabricatormode which can do both and much more.

Since wood fence varies so much fromregion to region and even company tocompany, this program requires somecustomization. We send out the softwarewith a generic setup. You adapt it to yourexact method of producing wood fence bycustomizing the inventory and running the WoodScratch Builder Setup program. This programcan estimate unlimited combinations of verticaland horizontal board fences. The program ac-commodates custom cut pickets and can esti-mate trim pieces like lattice toppers, trim boards,and post caps. You determine the hardware and

framing method for wood gates. It will store up toninety nine standard specifications for eachheight of fence.

Wood Scratch Builder will produce an exactitemized bill of materials. It will generate a fabri-

cation drawing with dimensions and specifica-tions. It will list exact quantities and prices andprint an exact Packing List with a computergenerated Job Sketch as a worksheet for yourinstallers. It will also produce a Contract, anitemized cost, update inventory, add salestaxes, and has a labor calculation module. Itcan discount down from a retail price or workfrom a cost plus percentage.

If you produce your boards or panels fromstock lumber, the Assemblies (an assemblyroutine that is part of the system) can convertprices per thousand into prices per piece andassemble those pieces into constructed pan-els. When the price of material or laborchanges, entering the new costs into the Mas-ter File will automatically recalculate and up-date all of your board or panel prices.

Welded wire mesh panel fencing hasbecome a growing market segment inthe fence industry throughout NorthAmerica, especially due to increasingsecurity concerns. Wire mesh panels, along time fencing standard throughoutmuch of the world, are highly secure andcan even resist intrusion from bolt cut-ters.

We developed the new Wire PanelScratch Builder estimating program toaddress this increasingly popular prod-

uct.

The Wire Panel Scratch Builder can addeither barbed wire or a fence sectiontype topper to an estimate using either a bent post or a barb wire arm for additional security.

It can calculate the material needed with panels figured between posts or as continuous fence wherethe panels have connectors to hook them together. The Wire Panel Scratch Builder uses brackets to

attach panels to posts – most commonlya tamper resistant U-Bolt assembly or abracket similar to a tension band (de-pending on the different styles of wirepanel).

Because most of the brackets for WirePanel fencing allow a certain amount of‘play’ where they can be adjusted tomake the section fit correctly, the pro-gram has a fudge factor built in to ac-commodate ‘play’.

The Chainlink, Vinyl and Ornamental ShopDrawing program generates billions of differentfence configurations on command. It is menudriven and requires absolutely no drawing skill.

Shop Drawing producesscalable vector graphic(SVG) images for Line ofFence, Single Gates,Double Gates, RollingGates, and CantileverGates for Chainlink andPanels, Single andDouble Swing gate forVinyl and Ornamental. Thedrawings are infinitelyscalable and automaticallyscale to the optimum sizefor the document whilemaintaining a high qualityimage. SVG can easily beconverted to other formatsthat can even be openedin CAD.

The output includesdetailed descriptions ofthe fence material specsprinted on the drawing,and separate coloroptions for chainlink fencefabric and framework andvinyl or ornamental colors.In Vinyl and OrnamentalShop Drawing also produces a cut list for everycomponent in the drawing.

The landscape orientation of the output displaysboth sides of a double gate on drawings. It canalso generate pictures for non-typical fenceheights and gate openings. In Chainlink you canuse different sizes of pipe for framing andbracing, set the vertical, horizontal and diagonalbracing parameters, break the braces on thehorizontal or vertical, and add single or double

truss rod systems. All bracing and trussingoptions are available per gate or per bay.

Independent control over post embedment andconcrete depth and diameter for both terminaland line posts enables you to produce drawingsexactly the way you build fence without having toedit the drawing. The program also offers oneclick razor wire, colored vertical slats that can bearranged into patterns, hedge inserts and

expanded latch options. Chainlink ScratchBuilder generates the applicable shop drawingsneeded for the job just estimated.

QwikFab is a feature first requested by vinyl whole-

salers for improved ease of entry of counter sales.

QwikFab enables you to enter quantities of panels

and posts without creating a ‘model job sketch’ to

get a breakdown. If you fabricate vinyl or other types

of panels and sell over the counter, QwikFab will

streamline your workflow.

QwikFab accesses the Standard Specifications in

the CFS Vinyl, Wood, or Ornamental Fabricator pro-

grams and enables them to be estimated as a num-

ber of sections and posts. It can estimate or invoice

complete sections while retaining the quantities of

component parts for inventory purposes. Gate as-

semblies, gate kits, hinges, latches, post stiffeners

and other items can be appended onto reports.

It can calculate and display inventory totals, labor,and taxes for all files searched. It can even listitemized totals of inventory for the entire range offiles searched. Data Miner can also calculate total sales, totalnumber of bids, and itemized material totals for aparticular customer. Job Schedule is designed to solve one of thebiggest headaches in the fence business,scheduling your installation crews effectively.The dynamic logic in Job Schedule reacts toevery change and addition and adapts itselfcontinuously.

Job Schedule automatically assigns up to 49crews, can schedule up to 10 weeks out onscreen, allows manual overrides, and reportson the status of utility locates, building permits,signed contracts. It offers programmable fencetypes and special equipment lists.

It also addresses priority jobs, levels of jobdifficulty, crew specialties, custom hours, over-time, languages spoken, and job location.Holidays and ‘special’ days off are taken into

When you enter a quantity and the Part, Record,or Source number, (right out of the handy PartsCatalog or now with a bar code reader), CashRegister will access your Master File and list theitem, unit price, and extended price on the screenand on the Invoice.

Naturally you can also import whole estimatesfrom any of the Scratch Builder programs intoCash Register. Non-stock items, customerinformation, labor and freight charges, mes-sages, terms, etc..., also can be entered.

Many suppliers including Merchants Metals,Master Halco, Stephens Pipe, Buffftech andAmeristar can provide real time cost updates inan electronic file. This will update CFS pricing inseconds. CFS can also read CSV files (Excelformat files) which are commonly used by othermanufacturers and wholesalers. Ask your sup-plier for a CFS pricing file or an Excel spread-sheet containing their part numbers and yourcosts. QuickBooks Accounting IntegrationThe CFS to QuickBooks Premier or Enterprise Solutions Interface (QBI) provides an efficient anduser friendly means to export jobs created in CFS into QuickBooks. You only need to figure the jobonce to get the benefits of each program.

There are two ways for CFS to interact with QuickBooks. We call them Level 1 and Level 2. With aLevel 1 interface, the transaction contains item descriptions and sales amounts, employs reusableNon-inventory Parts in QB, and is quickly implemented.

A Level 2 interface does the above, but also makes use of Inventory Parts in QB in order to have theoption to track inventory. The resulting QB invoice can list the items individually or can be a summaryof the job transferred from CFS.

With Level 2, QB becomes the primary location for tracking and valuing inventory. The commonly solditems in CFS can be exported and used to populate the list of items in QB. The interface can recog-nize if an item is not already in QB and add it as part of the job transfer procedure.

With a Level 2 setup, there is also an option to transfer the average or last purchase price from QBinto CFS. An alternative is to have the replacement cost in CFS, setup your selling price based onthat number, and then transfer the selling price into QuickBooks. This does not touch the cost in QBsince the cost needs to stay based on what you paid for it. This and other issues make the Level 2setup more involved.
