Jyothy Institute of Technology abbreviated as JIT, is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological
University and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. JIT was established in the year 2011 under the
leadership of Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee, Dharmika Pravara, Dr. B.N.V. Subrahmanya, a
visionary par excellence and philanthropist. Since inception JIT has grown to be one of the reputed
technical institutions in the city of Bengaluru and Located in Thataguni, (12°50'38.21N
77°30'42.43E) off Kanakapura road (NH 948( Previously 209)) , near Art of Living. Jyothy institute of
Technology is located on a 12 acre campus and has all the infrastructure expected of a modern
engineering institution & on the path of progress through addition of new infrastructure and
adoption of ISO practices.
The institution offers Undergraduate programmes in Five disciplines namely: Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Science Engineering,
Electronics & Communication Engineering and is accredited by NBA for the period 2018 – 2021.
Besides this the Institution also offers Post Graduate programmes in CSE, ME, Food Technology and
Doctoral programmes in the disciplines of CSE/ISE, Mech Engg., E&C, Civil Engg., Nanotechnology,
Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Polymer Science & Technology, Material Science
& Engg. and is a recognized R&D Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) with
significant number of doctoral scholars. The institution has a dedicated team of teaching and
research staff with 40 doctorates and 70 masters who are alumini of premier institutes such as IISc,
IIT, NIT, Central, State and Foreign Universities. In terms of its outreach activities the institute has
adopted the local village Thataguni and helps to serve the village through various means. The
institution has been enlisted for the Unnat Bharath Abyaan (UBA) initiative and is also actively
involved in the Swacch Bharath Abhyaan initiatives of GoI besides being a green campus generating
350 KW of Solar Power.

The institution has also established an exclusive Multidisciplinary R&D Centre CIIRC with research
and innovation labs spread over 50000 Sq.ft. supported by Sri Sharadha Peetham Sringeri in the
areas of Affordable Medical Devices & Sensors, Ancient Indian S&T, Autonomous Systems,
Biocomposites & Bioploymers, Cell & Molecular Biology, Computational Engg., Energy,
Environment, Food Technology, Nanobiotechnology, Nanoscience & Engg., Plant & Microbial
Technology, Remote Sensing & VLSI, Surfaces & Interfaces, Thermal Engg., Tribiology, Water, Ink
alongside a dedicated Sophisticated Instrument Facility housing instruments such as SEM, XRD,
GC, FT-IR, DSC, TGA and a host of other equipment. Students in house and from outside have the
benefit of utilizing these facilities for carrying out their projects and internships.The institution also currently has projects funded by DST, DRDO, DBT, MOES, DOS, VGST, KCTU,
BIRAC, UGC-DAE etc. besides publications in peer reviewed national and international journals
indexed in Scopus/Web of Science and Thomson Reuters alongside books and book chapters. The institute has large number of industrial, research and academic collaborations and also offers
consultancy and testing services to various organizations. The faculty of the institute have been
conferred with awards such as Commonwealth Fellowship, BRICS Young Scientist, DBT Women
Fellowship, DBT Ramalingaswamy, CSIR, Raman Charpak Fellowship, WOSA, WOSB from DST,
BIRAC-Shrishti award, DST Young Scientist, Member Executive Council of VTU and others.
The Institution also hosts an Atal Incubation Centre, AIC-JIT Foundation funded by Niti Aayog, GoI
spread over an area of 30,000 sq.ft. The institution has supported incubation activities and has
currently 17 incubated companies and developed close to 25 products of relevance to society. The
major sector specific focus areas of incubation being Food Technology, Sensors & Devices and
Materials.

Robo-KabaddiObjective: Fusing of a popular Indian sport in modern day
robotics. It will be played by the robots inside the arena with rules analogous to that of kabaddi but with a twist
Death Race Objective: Design a manually controlled robot to overcome
the opponent in a one on one race
Robo-SoccerObjective: Fusing of the world’s most popular sport to
the most upcoming technology of robotics, wherein robots will play soccer in the arena
Robo-SumoObjective: A robot wrestling event where two robots will wrestle against each
other to stay in the arena
