Lighting Costs - The True FactsTo illuminate a large area (warehouse, production, retail “sheds”) the traditional light source would have been a Metal Halide lamp (low bayor High bay) due to its efficiencies and colour rendering. Using the latest technology in Controls and Reflector Materials we haveseen this traditional light source switching from Metal halide to various fluorescent options.

Enhanced SavingsDue to the V5 technology allowing the use of both presence detection sensorsand/ or photocells (daylight detection) further savings are easily obtainable.

Presence Detection (PIR)A PIR allows the lights to be dimmed during times when they are not required, inthis instance the lights can be dimmed up to 65% (44hrs) of the time during nonoperational hours giving a potential saving of £1219.

PhotocellsOn average the U.K has 4 hours of sunlight/day. The introduction of a photocellwould allow the V5 system to reduce the lighting levels accordingly whilst the sunis providing natural day light. By reducing the power by 50% for 4hrs per day couldsave an additional £428
