By the Time – 1
El-Fatihâ together with the Blessings
I take refuge with Allah from Satanthe Accursed.
In the Name of Allah the All-Merciful,the All-Compassionate.
Dear readers! We offer endless
praise and thanks to Allah that we are
together once again. Allahû Tealâ has
gathered us together once more in order
that we can converse on Allah’s zikir. Our
topic is Ve’l Asr Sura. This topic will be
composed of four chapters, God willing.
We, wish to relate to you the first chapter
of Ve’l Asr Sura, God willing. We offer
never-ending praise and thanks to Allah
that we are together again in a
conversation of zikir, in order to speak of
Allah, of happiness.
My dear brothers and sisters, my inti-
mate friends, my empathetic friends!
Imam-ı Şâfi Hz. Says so: “The Glorious
Qur’ân cannot be lost. Such a thing is not
possible any more. But supposing the
impossible that it might have been lost,
then Ve’l Asr Sura on its own would have
been sufficient to relate the whole content
of the Glorious Qur’ân. If so, we are
speaking of a very special Sura: Ve’l Asr.
We are going back to the time 14
centuries ago and looking at the lives of
the Companions. Whenever and wherever
the Companions are meeting each other,
one of them is saying to the other: “Peace
be upon you and Allah’s mercy”. The latter
is saying to him: “Peace be upon you and
Allah’s mercy and His blessings”. Then,
one of them is absolutely reciting Ve’l Asr
Sura to the other:
Vel asr(asri).
“I swear by the Time.”
İnnel insâne le fî husr(husrin).
1 2 3
“Most surely man is in utter loss.”
İllellezîne âmenû.
“Except those who are âmenû (who have
wished to reach Allah spiritually before
death and to surrender to Him). They are
not those who are in loss.”
Ve amilûs sâlihâti.
“and (except) those who do improving
deeds, those who have begun the soul’s
purification.”
Ve tevâsav bil hakk(hakkı).
“and (except) those who recommend the
Truth (Hakk, Allah) (to others).”
Ve tevâsav bis sabr(sabrı).
“and (except) those who recommend
Patience (to others)”.
Ve’l Asr Sura displays the scale,
the spectrum, the deployment formed of
28 steps of this unique Religion of Allah
and whose Arabic name is Islâm. A
spectrum, a whole composed of 28 steps
of four times seven steps.
Dear readers, my intimate friends,
my empathetic friends! Why had one of
the Companions said to the other:
“Peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy
and His blessings” when this one had
greeted him? Why had one of them
absolutely recited Ve’l Asr Sura to the
other? Because Ve’l Asr Sura
encompasses the whole of the Glorious
Qur’ân. It has gathered all the surrenders
in it.
What does Ve’l Asr Sura say then?
It says:
Vel asr(asri).
“I swear by the Time.”
İnnel insâne le fî husr(husrin).
“Most surely man is in utter loss.”
İllellezîne âmenû.
“Except those who are âmenû, those
who have wished to reach Allah.”
What does Allah mean by this?
What does “being in loss” mean?
Whoever has more sins than his merits,
he is the one who is in loss. Allahû Tealâ
says in the 103th verse of Al-Mu'minûn
Sura:
“And as for him whose scales (of
good deeds) are light, these are they
4 5 6
9
who shall have lost their souls, abid-
ing in Hell (forever)”.
If so, dear readers, my intimate
friends, my cordial friends! The place
where those who are in loss will go is
Hell. Well, what does Allah say in Ve’l
Asr Sura? The men are in loss. That is to
say, the place where all of the mankind
will go is Hell. But “illellezîne âmenû”
“except those who are âmenû, those who
have wished to reach Allah spiritually
before death and to surrender to Him”.
They are not in loss. To be âmenû
means to wish to reach Allah. Now, with-
in such a
content, Allahû Tealâ wants the human
beings to surrender to Him through the
seven different phases, to reach
guidance:
A religion composed of seven
phases and four surrenders and resulting
in the surrender to Allah of the spirit, the
physical body, the soul and the free will.
The Religion of Islâm in its Arabic name,
the religion of Hanîf of Hz. İbrâhîm
(Abraham), the religion of Hz. Mûsâ
(Moses), the religion of Hz. ‘Îsâ (Jesus),
the religion of all the prophets. Dear
readers! This is the unique religion of the
universe. So, men are in loss but those
who are “âmenû” are not in loss. The
place where they will go is not Hell, but
Paradise.
This expresses the first 7 stages.
“ve ‘amilûssâlihâti” “and (except) those
who do improving deeds”. They also will
not go to Hell, says Allahû Tealâ. This is
a process comprising the second 7
stages. “ve tevâsav bil hakk(ı)” “and
(except) those who recommend the
Truth (Hakk, Allah) (to others)”, those
w h o
recommend the Truth by reaching It. And
finally, “ve tevâsav bis sabr(ı)” “and
(except) those who recommend Patience
(to others)”, that is to say, after having
their spirits reach Allah, those who have
surrendered their physical bodies to
Allah by rendering them “muhsin” (good-
doers), those who have surrendered
their souls to Allah by rendering them
“ahsen” (the Best, the Most Beautiful),
those who have reached “irshad” (the 4th
rank of the 28 stages, immaterial
maturity) and have surrendered their free
wills to Allah: all of these are included
into this fourth chapter. In which case,
7 8
Ve’l Asr Sura is a whole:
Let us consider together the
content of this whole: We live some
events at the 1st stage. We compare and
evaluate them at the 2nd stage. If a per-
son has turned against Allah, if he does
not wish to reach Allah (spiritually before
death), if he tries to cause others to
deviate from the Way of Allah, to prevent
them from wishing to reach Allah, he
reveals himself involuntarily at this sec-
ond stage. Allahû Tealâ does not choose
such persons as they will not wish to
reach Allah. But all the others are
chosen. That is, whoever does not wish
to reach Allah but is contented only
himself with not wishing to reach Allah,
he is chosen (by Allah). Whoever from
among those who do not wish to reach
Allah prevents other people from wishing
to reach Him, from reaching His Way, he
is not chosen. More than 90% of the
human beings are chosen. Less than
10% of the people from among those
who have been chosen wish to reach
Allah. Whoever has wished to reach
Allah is at the third stage. Allah begins to
manifest Himself over him with his Name
of All-Compassionate: He is at the fourth
stage. With this manifestation of His, He
takes out the hidden barrier (invisible
veil, “hicâb-ı mestûre”) on our eyes, the
heaviness (vakrâ, invisible weight) in our
ears, the coverings (ekinnet) on our
hearts, puts “ihbat” in place of “ekinnet”
[“Ekinnet”: the Divine Computerized
System that prevents a person from
comprehending the words uttered by the
murshid. “İhbat”: The Divine
Computerized System that enables him
to comprehend the words of the
murshid]. Thus, the person attains to the
5th, 6th and 7th stages.
These events manifest themselves
over the person within a few minutes.
Allah reaches the (soul’s) heart of this
person at the 8th stage. He turns the light
way of his (soul’s) heart to Himself. He
slits (opens up) a light way from his
breast to his heart so that Allah’s lights
can enter it at the 10th stage. The person
begins to do zikir at the 11th stage. The
mercy and virtue that come with zikir
attain from the breast to the (soul’s)
heart. But the heart is sealed. Out of the
two lights named mercy and virtue, only
the light of mercy can leak into the
(soul’s) heart that is sealed. Both lights
10 11 12
cannot enter the (soul’s) heart. But (the
light of) mercy can leak therein only a
little.
When this leakage amounts to 2%,
the person is at the 12th stage. He has
become the owner of hushu’ (a feeling of
awe). Later, Allahû Tealâ shows him his
murshid (in his dream). The person sees
the post of irshad and reaches the
murshid whom Allah has showed him at
the 14th stage. Up to here, they are the
second 7 stages. Thereafter, the person
begins the soul’s purification. With each
accumulation of 2% of light in his soul’s
heart around the word of Belief (Faith),
the spirit makes an ascent of one
heavenly floor. An accumulation of virtue
that will ensure a continuous purification
in the soul’s heart begins.
The person’s spirit surpasses the
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th
heavenly floors (layers) with an
accumulation of virtue at the rate of 7%
at each floor and reaches the Essence
(Zât) of Allah with a vertical journey he
has made towards Him from the final
point of the 7th heavenly floor, from the
Lote-tree of the farthest limit.
This person is henceforth a
personage who recommends the Truth.
He has experienced this exceptional
beauty. He begins to act in order to
ensure that the others also can
experience it and tries to cause them to
attain to this aim. Whose spirit has
reached Allah at the 21th stage, his
spirit is annihilated in the Essence of
Allah at the 22th stage and the fact that
his spirit has been annihilated in the
Essence of Allah forms the foundation of
his being a saint (a Friend) of Allah. His
spirit has attained to Allah and has been
annihilated (in Him).
The person is at the stage of “Fenâfillâh”
(Annihilation in Allah). This is the 22th
stage. So, the spirit’s reaching Allah is
realized at the 21th stage. There have
been three 7 stages up to now and the
Command of Allah has been thus
fulfilled:
Ve enîbû ilâ rabbikum ve eslimû lehu
min kabli en ye’tiyekumul ‘azâbe.
“And head for (turn to) your Lord
(repentant) and surrender to Him before
there comes to you the (grave) torment
(before death).”
13 14 15
So, dear readers! The spirit
reaching Allah at the 21th stage is
annihilated in the Essence (Zât) of Allah
at the 22th stage. A (golden) throne is
granted to that person at the 23th stage.
The person becomes an ascetic
(zâhid) at the 24th stage. He begins to do
zikir (during more than half of a day, and
this person whose spirit has set off for
Allah and has been annihilated in the
Essence of Allah becomes a ascetic,
becomes the owner of the asceticism
when he does zikir during more than half
of the day. Thereafter? Thereafter, more
than 81% of light accumulates in the
(soul’s) heart of this person. This person
surrenders his physical body to Allah.
Here is the 25th stage.
And after this, after the surrender of
the physical body, the person will
surrender his soul to Allah. Before this
the post of Ûlû’l elbâb (the owners of the
continuous zikir, of the treasuries of the
Divine Secrets) comes true. The person
becomes the owner of continuous zikir at
the 26th stage.
At the following stage, he
surrenders his soul also to Allah as a
hanîf (upright by disposition). Here is the
27th stage. The personage has become
“muhlis” (utterly pure), his soul’s heart
has been completely cleansed.
After this, the person’s zikir will
increase more and more. Allahû Tealâ
will invite him one day to the Irrevocable
Repentance (Tövbe-i Nasûh).
Afterwards, that personage will
wish to attain to irshad (immaterial
maturity obtainable at the 4th rank of the
28th stage) and firstly the sins of that
personage will be changed into merits
(good deeds).
These sins of him committed after
his having reached his murshid will be
firstly blotted out. Later, the Light of
Improvement will be bestowed on him.
Thereafter, his sins will be transformed
into merits. He is at the first rank of the
stage of the Improvement. Allahû Tealâ
will invite that personage to the
Irrevocable Repentance and he will
attain to irshad when his sins committed
after having reached his murshid will be
blotted out. And after this, he will wish to
16 17 18
surrender his free will to Allah. Allahû
Tealâ will absolutely accept it, the
personage will surrender his free will to
Allah. Here is the end of the Way:
The surrender of your free will also
to Allah. So, such a design, my dear
brothers and sisters, forms 28 stages, is
the point where you have surrendered
your free will to Allah. At this level, the
personage is appointed for irshad, he
becomes the owner of the post of irshad.
Above him, there are messengers in all
the nations. Above them, there is the
Imam of the Era: The 6th and 7th ranks
of the stage of the Improvement.
Thus, Ve’l Asr Sura consists of
these with such a succinct narration: You
surrender to Allah with a total surrender
(teslim-i kullî) by surrendering your spirit
at the 21th stage, your physical body at
the 25th stage, your soul at the 27th
stage, your free will at the 5th rank of the
28th stage.
Dear readers! My beloved brothers
and sisters, my intimate friends, my
cordial friends! This evening, we will
relate the first 7 stages of Islâm com-
posed of 28 stages. After this panoramic
view, this first glance over the whole of
the stages, we come to the first stage. At
the 1st stage, we experience the events.
Everyone experiences them. At the 2nd
stage, we compare and evaluate the
events. When we experience the events
at the 1st stage, we experience them in
fact without knowing their content. Allahû
Tealâ says so in this matter: “There are
such things that you love them, you think
that they are good for you, but they are
evil for you. There are also such things
that you do not like them and you think
that they are evil for you whereas they
are good for you.” Consider a thief. He
has stolen something. There are two
persons now:
1) A person something of whom
has been stolen, that is, a person to
whom a wrong has been done.
2) a person who has stolen some-
thing, the wrong-doer.
The wrong-doer loses degrees. He
has stolen for example a car. He will sell
it. He will spend the money. And his
world is such a world. He takes pleasure
in this. In that case, what he has done is
an evil. He has committed an action
forbidden by Allah. He will lose degrees.
19 20 21
All kinds of evils are the events that
make lose degrees. As can be seen, the
person rejoices at the events, the evils
that make him lose (positive) degrees.
And what about the other party? His
property has been stolen, he will obtain
the degrees of the other party and thanks
to those (positive) degrees, he will have
attained goodness. But the person feels
grief.
So, men may be sad at goodness
and pleased with evil. In which case,
while we have been experiencing the
events, our manners of evaluating them
are always erroneous. We are tested by
Allah once or twice in a year through dis-
asters (misfortunes) in our evaluation of
the events. The second stage is the
evaluation of the events. Everyone
evaluates the events within one’s own
standards at the level of the abilities one
possesses.
There are two categories of people
among those who evaluate the events.
The first category do not wish to
reach Allah. But they do not wish for it
because they are unaware of it. They are
not informed of such a thing or they have
not attached due importance to it.
The second category also do not
wish to reach Allah. They try to prevent
other people from reaching Allah by
distorting the verses, contradicting them,
seeking to give them their own
interpretation (by interpreting them in the
direction he pleases).
1) The verses being denied,
2) Their being negated,
3) Their being concealed.
Especially the fact that the verses
related to the human spirit’s reaching
Allah before death have been concealed,
negated, denied forms a series of
contents coming one after another.
So, whosoever prevents other
people from reaching guidance by
concealing, covering, negating, denying
Allah’s verses, he is not chosen (by
Allah). These are those in whose (souls’)
hearts there is a swerving. These are
those in whose hearts there is a disease.
These are the persons in the (souls’)
hearts of whom Allah does not see any
good(ness). These are not chosen.
22 23 24
Those who have been chosen are more
than 90% of the humankind. Only those
who are ill-intentioned, especially those
who try to keep people away from Allah’s
Way are not chosen. The 2th stage is
that of being chosen. The great part of
the human beings are chosen there.
Those who have wished to reach Allah
are absolutely among these chosen
ones. Whoever among them wishes to
reach Allah, then that person comes to
the 3th stage. To wish to reach Allah is
the most important decision of your life.
Allahû Tealâ writes in His Glorious
Qur’ân that the salvation of the one who
does not wish to reach Allah is not
possible. Allahû Tealâ decrees:
“The place where the person who
does not wish to reach Allah is Hell.”
If so, dear readers, my dear broth-
ers and sisters! What Allahû Tealâ
declares in the 7 and 8th verses of
Yûnus Sura is exactly as follows:
İnnellezîne lâ yercûne likâenâ ve radû
bil hayâtid dunyâ vatme’ennû bihâ
vellezîne hum an âyâtinâ
gâfilûn(gâfilûne). Ulâike me’vâhumun
nâru bimâ kânû yeksibûn(yeksibûne).
Most surely, they do not wish (hope) for
reaching us (they do not wish to make
their spirits reach US before death) and
they are pleased with this world’s life and
satisfied with it; they are heedless of our
Verses. (As for) those, their Abode is the
Fire because of what (the negative
degrees) they earned.
The men who are not conscious of
Allah’s verses, who are heedless of
them. The men who will go to Hell for this
reason. Whoever does not wish to reach
Allah, his salvation is not possible. If so,
you will make here the most important
decision of your life. Either you will wish
to reach Allah or you will not. My dear
brothers and sisters, what did we see?
The person who does not wish to
reach Allah. 1) is heedless of Allah’s
verses. That is to say, he could not
comprehend the meaning of Allah’s
verses that Allah wants to communicate
to them. These people who are heedless
of Allah’s verses are the ones who can-
not perceive where Allah’s verses will
lead them in Allah’s design within all this
content. Some of them prevent other
25 26 27
people too from Allah’s Way knowingly
and willingly, remaining under the
influence of Satan within a manner of
behavior into which their pride and
arrogance have dragged them. They
also never enter Allah’s Way. Allahû
Tealâ addresses this part from among
those who do not wish to reach Allah in
the 167, 168 and 169th verse of An-Nisâ'
Sura:
İnnellezîne keferû ve saddû an sebîlil-
lâhi kad dallû dalâlen baîdâ(baîden).
İnnellezîne keferû ve zalemû lem
yekunillâhu li yagfire lehum ve lâ li
yehdiyehum tarîkâ(tarîkan). İllâ tarîka
cehenneme hâlidîne fîhâ ebedâ(ebe-
den), ve kâne zâlike alâllâhi
yesîrâ(yesîren).
Surely, they are disbelievers and hinder
(men) from Allah’s Way. That is, they are
not in Allah’s Way. They hinder other
men also from Allah’s Way. They prevent
other men from reaching Allah,
consequently from making their spirits
reach Allah by making a journey on the
Straight Path, “they are in a remote
Misguidance”, says Allahû Tealâ. Now,
whoever hinders (men) from Allah’s
Way, they are not in Allah’s Way anyway,
they are not on the Straight Path, on the
Way to “rushd”, “irshad” (immaterial
maturity). They are on the Way to Gayy
(to Satan, to Hell). And as they hinder
other men from Allah’s Way, they are in
Misguidance. Allahû Tealâ continues:
“They are both disbelievers and wrong-
doers.”
Why are they the wrong-doers?
“Because they separate other people
from Allah’s Way and they are not in
Allah’s Way, either. They cause other
people to remain in Misguidance just like
themselves. As they have hindered other
men from Allah’s Way, they have been
doing wrong to them. For this reason,
they are wrong-doers. As they have lost
degrees because of this at the same
time, they have also been doing wrong to
themselves. Allah never forgives them,
decrees Allahû Tealâ. If they had wished
to reach Allah, they would have
absolutely reached their murshids. The
instant they had depended (on them), all
their sins would have been changed into
merits (good deeds), according to the
70th verse of Furkan Sura. But Allahû
Tealâ says: “Allah never forgives them”.
What does He say thereafter? “He does
28 29 30
not make them reach the Straight Road,
He makes them reach only the Road to
Hell. They will dwell therein forever.”
So, these men who do not wish to
reach Allah, who hinder also other
people from reaching Allah, from wishing
to reach Allah, consequently from
reaching Allah: They are those who have
not been chosen. What did we see? We
saw that the place where any person
who has not wished to reach Allah will go
is absolutely Hell. And if the person
wishes to reach Allah? If he wishes to
reach Allah, that person will absolutely
be saved. In this respect, Ve’l Asr Sura
has cast a clear light on the subject to the
utmost degree.
Allahû Tealâ says:
Vel asr(asri).
“I swear by the Time.”
İnnel insâne le fî husr(husrin)
“Most surely man is in utter loss.”
İllellezîne âmenû
“Except those who are âmenû, those
who have wished to reach Allah spiritual-
ly before death.”
That is to say, they are not in loss.
The 103th verse of Mu’minûn Sura gives
those who are in utter loss (husrân).
Ve men haffet mevâzînuhu fe
ulâikellezîne hasirû enfusehum fî
cehenneme hâlidûn(hâlidûne).
”And as for him whose scales (of good
deeds) are light, these are they who shall
have lost their souls, abiding in Hell
(forever).”
The 178th verse of Al-A'râf Sura
says that those who are in Misguidance
are in utter loss.
Men yehdillâhu fehuvel muhtedî ve
men yudlil fe ulâike humul
hâsirûn(hâsirûne).
“and whomsoever He leaves in
Misguidance, these are the losers”.
And we are looking at the losers (at
those who are in utter loss): These are
they whose scales (of good deeds) are
light, the place where they will go is Hell.
They will abide therein forever. Now,
when we look at the 8th verse of Yunûs
31 32 33
Sura, Allahû Tealâ says that those who
will go to Hell will go there because of the
degrees they earned.
Who are these men?
Those who do not wish to reach
Allah. The place where the men who do
not wish to reach Allah will go is Hell
because of the degrees they earned.
That is to say, the degrees they lost are
more than they earned. For this reason,
the place where the person will go is Hell.
But as for those who are âmenû:
It is declared that they remain
outside of those who are in loss. In which
case, the place where those who have
wished to reach Allah will go is
absolutely Allah’s Paradise. The fact that
they will go to Allah’s Paradise, reach the
Salvation is evident because Allah
makes them reach that goal. Allahû
Tealâ says in the 13th verse of Ash-
Shûra Sura:
“Allah chooses for Himself whomever He
will, and makes reach Himself him who
heads for Him (turns to Him), him who
has wished to reach Him.”
Allahû Tealâ decrees in the 5th
verse of Al-‘Ankabût Sura:
Men kâne yercû likâallâhi fe inne ece-
lallâhi leât(leâtin), ve huves semîul
alîm(alîmu).
“Whoever hopes (wishes) to meet
(reach) Allah (Whoever wishes to make
his spirit reach Allah before death), the
term appointed by Allah will then most
surely come.”
That is to say, Allahû Tealâ will
absolutely make that person reach
Himself. As for this: it expresses the 3th
layer of the Paradise. Thus, the person
who has wished to reach Allah is a per-
son who has absolutely attained the
Salvation according to the 5th verse of
Al-‘Ankabût Sura. He is also a person
who has reached the Salvation
according to the 1st and 2nd verses of
Ve’l Asr Sura. Besides, according to the
8, 9 and 10th verses of Al-Mulk Sura, the
place where he will go is Allah’s
Paradise.
Here is what the 8, 9 and 10th vers-
es of Al-Mulk Sura says:
Tekâdu temeyyezu minel gayz(gayzi),
34 35 36
kullemâ ulkıye fîhâ fevcun seelehum
hazenetuhâ e lem ye’tikum
nezîr(nezîrun). Kâlû belâ kad câenâ
nezîrun fe kezzebnâ ve kulnâ mâ
nezzelallâhu min şey'in entum illâ fî
dalâlin kebîr(kebîrin).
“Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a
(fresh) host is flung into it, its keeper(s)
shall ask them: Did there not come to you
a warner? They (shall) say: “Yes, verily,
a warner came to us; but we denied and
said: “Allah has sent down nothing: You
are in a great Misguidance (Error). And
they (shall) say: “If we had heard [what
the warner had said to us, that is, if the
heaviness (vakra) had been taken out of
our ears] or comprehended (his words,
that is, if “ekinnet” had been taken away
from our heart and “ihbat” had been put
therein in place of it), we should not now
be among the inmates of the Burning
Fire.”
It has been seen that Allah’s
Paradise is certain for the one who has
wished to reach Allah. But it is not
permitted for others. They are those who
have not wished to reach Allah. Hell is
destined for them.
So, know that when we wish to
reach Allah, He hears, knows and sees it
in that instant. What does He do if He
sees it? He manifests Himself over that
person with His Name of All-
Compassionate. Here, you are at the 4th
stage.
Allahû Tealâ causes to speak Hz.
Yûsuf (Joseph) so in the 53th verse of
Yûsuf Sura:
Ve mâ uberriu nefsî, innen nefse le
emmâretun bis sûı illâ mâ rahime
rabbî, inne rabbî gafûrun rahîm(rahî-
mun).
“And I do not exonerate my soul, most
surely the soul is wont to command (him
to do) evil, except those over whom my
Lord manifests Himself with His Name of
All-Compassionate.”
So, dear readers, my beloved
brothers and sisters! What happens if
Allahû Tealâ manifests Himself with His
Name of All-Compassionate?
1) This manifestation takes out the
hidden barrier (hicâb-ı mestûre, invisible
veil) on your eyes.
2) It takes out the heaviness (vakrâ)
in your ears.
37 38 39
3) It takes away “ekinnet”
(coverings) from your heart and puts
“ihbat” therein in place of it. (“Ekinnet”:
the Divine Computerized System
preventing men from comprehending
what the murshid says to them; “ihbât” =
The Divine Computerized System
ensuring their comprehending)
And thus the first 7 stages have
been completed. Allahû Tealâ decrees
so in the 45 and 46th verses of Al-Isrâ'
Sura:
Ve izâ kara’tel kur’âne cealnâ beyneke
ve beynellezîne lâ yu’minûne bil
âhıreti hicâben mestûrâ(mestûren). Ve
cealnâ alâ kulûbihim ekinneten en
yefkahûhu ve fî âzânihim
vakrâ(vakran), ve izâ zekerte rabbeke
fîl kur’âni vahdehu vellev alâ edbâri-
him nufûrâ(nufûren).
“And when you recite the Qur’ân, We
place between you and those who do not
believe in the Hereafter (the spirit’s
reaching Allah while living in this world) a
hidden barrier (an invisible veil). And We
have placed “ekinnet” (coverings) on
their hearts and a heaviness (vakrâ) in
their ears lest they comprehend it, and
when you mention your Lord Alone in the
Qur’ân they turn their backs in aversion.”
They are dead, deaf and dumb.
The same things (standards) have been
expressed in the 179th verse of Al-A'râf
Sura, too. Allahû Tealâ says in the 178th
verse of Al-A'râf Sura that those who are
in Misguidance are those who are in loss
and enumerates in the 179th verse the
standards of those who are in
Misguidance:
Ve lekad zere’nâ li cehenneme kesîren
minel cinni vel insi lehum kulûbun lâ
yefkahûne bihâ ve lehum a’yunun lâ
yubsırûne bihâ ve lehum âzânun lâ
yesmeûne bihâ, ulâike kel en’âmi bel
hum edallu, ulâike humul
gâfilûn(gâfilûne).
“And certainly We have created for Hell
many of the jinn and the men; they have
hearts with which they do not
comprehend, and they have eyes with
which they do not see, and they have
ears with which they do not hear; they
are as cattle, nay, they are more
misguided (than them); these are the
heedless ones.”
These are the men who do not wish
40 41 42
to reach Allah. They are dead, You
cannot make the dead in the graves hear
(the message). They do not hear you,
those dumb ones do not hear you, says
Allahû Tealâ. Only those who hear
respond to the Invitation, says Allahû
Tealâ. “If we had seen any good(ness) in
their (souls’) hearts, we would have
caused them to hear (the Call). Those in
the hearts of whom there is no
good(ness) would have returned to
Unbelief after their having reached
guidance once again.
So, although all these human
beings are living, are alive, Allahû Tealâ
says that all of them are dead if they do
not wish to reach Him. You see them
looking at you. You think that they see.
But they look at you, however they do not
see you, He says. Now, the
manifestation of Allah with His Name of
All-Compassionate takes out the hidden
barrier on the eyes of those who have
wished to reach Allah. They begin to
“see”. They begin to see the post of
irshad (murshid). He takes out the
heaviness (vakrâ) in their ears, they
begin to hear what the post of irshad
(murshid) says to them. He takes away
“ekinnet” on their hearts and puts “ihbat”
therein in place of it. Then, their (souls’)
hearts begin to comprehend (messages).
Allahû Tealâ speaks of those men
in the 54th verse of Al-Hajj Sura:
Ve li ya’lemellezîne ûtul ılme ennehul
hakku min rabbike fe yu’minû bihî fe
tuhbite lehu kulûbuhum, ve innallâhe
le hâdillezîne âmenû ilâ sırâtın mus-
takîm(mustakîmin).
“And that those who have been given the
knowledge may know that it (what the
post of irshad says to them) is the truth
from your Lord, so they may believe in it
and their hearts may be lowly before it
[“ihbat” may be put into their (souls’)
hearts].”
There are “ekinnet” on their hearts.
They hinder the comprehension. Why
are those men the ones who have been
given the knowledge? Previously, they
were not in a position to comprehend the
knowledge. Only, they advance step by
step towards the Divine Knowledge after
their having wished to reach Allah in
order to assume a quality suitable to be
able to grasp it. The fact that Allahû
43 44 45
Tealâ takes out the hidden barrier on
men’s eyes, the heaviness in their ears,
the coverings (ekinnet) on their hearts is
realized within a few minutes. And when
Allahû Tealâ produces each of them, He
gives them some degrees. When He
takes out the hidden barrier on the eyes,
He grants some degrees to them. When
He takes away the coverings (ekinnet)
on the hearts, He again grants them
some degrees. When He puts ihbat
therein, He grants them some degrees,
too. He makes such a thing that the
merits (good deeds) of that person
become more than his sins (evil deeds).
It is certain that the one whose sins are
numerous is in a state worse than the
one whose sins are few.
If Allahû Tealâ were to remove
completely this person’s faults, the
wrongs he has done to himself, then He
would do wrong to those who have done
less wrong to themselves. He does not
do thus. He grants to anyone as many
merits as to cover his sins (evil deeds).
Then, the merits of the one whose
sins are numerous remain few and when
Allah changes his sins into merits in the
future, as the sins, degrees of the one
whose sins are numerous, his amount of
sins changed into merits are few, which
expresses the Justice of Allahû Tealâ.
You know thus that Allahû Tealâ
discloses the content gradually at the
beginning, we knew that all the sins were
changed into merits. Allahû Tealâ had
taught us that much. Now, He makes
known to us that the sins are blotted out.
That is to say, the fact that the
merits are more than the sins is at issue.
When we take this into consideration, we
see that the justice manifests itself in a
more manifest fashion.
Dear readers! The 7th stage is the
end of the first 7 stages. As the merits of
the person exceed his sins, it absolutely
leads him to Allah’s Paradise. If the
person is to die immediately after he has
wished to reach Allah, the place where
the person will absolutely go is Allah’s
Paradise. In that case, the most
important step of your life is to wish to
reach Allah. We want to complete our
words here, God willing, dear readers,
with our prayers that Allahû Tealâ makes
you reach both the Bliss of Paradise and
46 47 48
this world’s happiness.
Al-Fâtihâ together with blessings upon
our Master the Prophet.
Peace be upon you and His Mercy and
His blessings.
By the Time – 2
El-Fatihâ together with the Blessings
I take refuge with Allah from Satanthe Accursed.
In the Name of Allah the All-Merciful,the All-Compassionate.
49 50 51
Dear readers, my intimate friends,
my cordial friends! We offer endless thanks
and praises to Allah that we live once
again in a conversation on Allah, in the
realm of Allah, in a triangle of happiness.
Because we speak of Allah, of the Qur’ân
and of the happiness that Allah and the
Qur’ân show us as a goal. Our topic is Ve’l
Asr Sura.
Our subject is now the second 7
stages of Ve’l Asr Sura. That is, the stages
from the 8th stage to the 14th stage: 8, 9,
10, 11, 12, 13 and 14th stages. What had
happened throughout the first 7 stages? At
the 1st stage, we had experienced the
events. At the 2nd stage, we had compared
and evaluated the events. More than 90%
of the men are chosen by Allahû Tealâ.
Whoever among them wishes to reach
Allah at the 3th stage, they are those who
attain to the Salvation (Felâh). If this per-
son wishes to reach Allah at the 3th stage,
this wish in his (soul’s) heart is heard,
known and seen in that instant. What
results if it is heard, known and seen by
Allahû Tealâ?
Allahû Tealâ begins to manifest
Himself over that person with His Name of
All-Compassionate (er-Rahîm) at the 4th
stage. What is the outcome of this
Manifestation? At the end of this manifes-
tation, the hidden barrier (hicâb-ı mestûre,
invisible veil), invisible “spectacles”, on the
eyes of that person preventing him from
seeing the post of irshad (murshid) is taken
out. He is at the 5th stage. The heaviness
(vakrâ) in the ears of that person is taken
out. He is at the 6th stage. The coverings
(ekinnet) on the (soul’s) heart of that
person are taken away and “ihbat”
(lowliness before Allah) is put therein in
place of “ekinnet”. He is at the 7th stage.
And this occurs within a few minutes.
Thanks to the operations executed by
Allahû Tealâ, one part of his sins are
blotted out in such a manner that the
degrees in his merits will be more than
those in his sins. At the end, as a result of
these four operations, that person is
absolutely the one who will go into Allah’s
Paradise. According to the 8, 9 and 10th
verses of Al-Mulk Sura, that person will
absolutely enter Allah’s Paradise. Allah
says in the 10th verse: “If we had heard the
words of the warner who had come to us,
that is, if the heaviness (vakrâ) in our ears
52 53 54
had been taken out, if we had seen him,
that is, if the hidden barrier on our eyes
had been taken out, and if we had
comprehended his words, that is, if
“ekinnet” had been taken away from our
(soul’s) heart and ihbat had been put
therein in place of it, should we now be
among the inmates of the Burning Fire?”
There is a hidden barrier (hicâb-ı
mestûre) on the eyes of those who will go
to Hell. There is a heaviness (vakrâ) in the
ears of those who will go to Hell. There are
coverings (“ekinnet”) on their hearts and
on account of these obstacles, they cannot
hear, see and comprehend (the words of
their murshids). All the human beings are
blind, deaf, dumb from their births. But we
saw that whoever wishes to reach Allah, all
His doors closed previously to all the men
open then one by one. The person begins
to see whereas he was blind. He begins to
hear whereas he was dumb. He begins to
comprehend whereas he was deprived of
understanding.
Dear readers! What happens after
this? A way of light will be opened up from
the breast of that person to his (soul’s)
heart. Firstly, Allahû Tealâ reaches the
(soul’s) heart of that person for whom the
operations we have enumerated have been
completed, that is to say, the hidden
barrier on his eyes had been taken out, the
heaviness (vakrâ) in his ears had been
taken out, the coverings (“ekinnet”) on his
(soul’s) heart had been taken away and
ihbat (lowliness before Allah) had been put
therein in place of “ekinnet” and so he had
begun to comprehend (the words of his
murshid). Allahû Tealâ says in the 11th
verse of At-Taghâbun Sura:
Mâ esâbe min musîbetin illâ bi iznil-
lâh(bi iznillâhi), ve men yu’min billâhi
yehdi kalbeh(kalbehu), vallâhu bikulli
şey’in alîm(alîmun).
“And whoever becomes amenû to Allah (a
believer in Allah) He reaches his (soul’s)
heart (He puts guidance into his heart).”
Why does Allahû Tealâ reach our
(soul’s) heart? We find (see) the answer in
the 33th verse of Qâf Sura. Allahû Tealâ
decrees so therein:
Men haşiyer rahmâne bil gaybi ve câe bi
kalbin munîb(munîbin).
“Who has awe of the All-Merciful (Allah) in
the Unseen and comes with a (soul’s) heart
turned (to Allah).”
55 56 57
We speak of having a feeling of awe
towards the All-Merciful (Allah) in the
Unseen (without seeing him yet), of the
human beings shuddering with awe
(hushu’).
Allahû Tealâ says in the 22th verse
of Az-Zumar Sura:
E fe men şerehallâhu sadrehu lil islâmi
fe huve alâ nûrin min rabbih(rabbihi), fe
veylun lil kâsiyeti kulûbuhum min zikril-
lâh(zikrillâhi), ulâike fî dalâlin
mubîn(mubînin).
“What! is he whose (soul’s) heart Allah has
opened (slit) for Islâm (Surrenders) so that
he is in (upon) a light from his Lord [like
the hard (dark, sick) hearted]?”
Allah’s l ight can reach only the
(souls’) hearts of those whose breasts are
slit and thus a way (of light) has been
opened up from there to their (souls’)
hearts. As for the 23th verse of Az-Zumar
Sura, Allahû Tealâ decrees so therein:
Allahu nezzele ahsenel hadîsi kitâben
muteşâbihen mesâniye
“Allah has sent down the Best (the most
Beautiful) Statement (the Best Lights He
produces) similar to a Book (to the Qur’ân
and its contents) in pairs: Mercy-Virtue,
Mercy-Blessings.”
takşaırru minhu culûdullezîne yahşevne
rabbehum
“The skins of those who have awe of their
Lord shiver from it (these lights).”
Summe telînu culûduhum ve kulûbuhum
ilâ zikrillâh(zikrillâhi)
“Then their skins and their hearts soften to
(with) the remembrance (zikir) of Allah.”
zâlike hudallâhi
“That is the Guidance of Allah.”
yehdî bihî men yeşâu
“He makes reach therewith whom He wills.”
ve men yudlilillâhu fe mâ lehu min
hâd(hâdin).
“and whomever He leaves in Misguidance,
for him there is no Guide (hidâyetchi, the
one who makes his spirit reach Allah).”
Allahû Tealâ says that the two lights
of Allah named “mercy” and “virtue” come
into the (souls’) hearts of those persons
and that they reach guidance thanks to
those lights. When the soul’s heart is
purified at the rate of 51%, the person
reaches guidance and when the spirit
reaches Allah, the person reaches also
guidance. The guidance of the spirit is
58 59 60
realized at the 21th stage. The spirit
reaches Allah.
Now, we are at the beginning of our
subject. Allah had taken out the hidden
barrier on the eyes of the person, the
heaviness on his (soul’s) heart, the cover-
ings in his (soul’s) heart and put “ihbat”
therein in place of the coverings. Now, He
reaches the (soul’s) heart of that person
and turns his heart to Himself. Here is the
9th stage. What is there at the 10th stage?
At the 10th stage, Allah opens up (slits) a
light way from the breast of that person to
his heart. Now let us remember the 22th
verse of Az-Zumar Sura:
“Allah’s light can reach only the heart of
the person whose breast Allah has slit and
He opened up a (light) way from his breast
to his heart.”
Allah asks: Are the hearts of these
persons and those of the others equal?
When we consider the content in such a
design, we see this, dear readers, my dear
brothers and sisters: Allahû Tealâ slits the
breast of that person and opens up a light
way from his breast to his heart. Here is
the 125th verse of Al-An’âm Sura:
Fe men yuridillâhu en yehdiyehu yeşrah
sadrehu lil islâm(islâmi)...
“And whomsoever Allah wills to make
reach guidance He slits his breast to İslâm
(Surrenders)”.
That is, He opens up a light way from
his breast to his heart.
Why? “li’l islâmi”, for İslâm, in order
that He should surrender them to Himself,
He should make them muslim (İslâm), that
they make become servants surrendered to
Allah. He slits it so that they may become
muslim (İslâm), that they may surrender
their spirits, physical bodies, souls and
free wills to Allah. Now, Allahû Tealâ
opens up a light way from the breast of the
person to his heart. Why?
Allahû Tealâ was saying the reason
for it in the 22th verse of Az-Zumar Sura.
Allah’s lights can reach only the (souls’)
hearts of the persons whose breasts Allahû
Tealâ slits in order to open up a light way
from their breasts to their hearts. Thus,
there is a (soul’s) heart into which Allah’s
lights come. Allah’s lights –mercy and
virtue– will reach that heart. Allahû Tealâ
says in the above mentioned 23th verse of
Zumer Sura that those lights will come
61 62 63
therein in pairs: mercy-virtue and mercy-
blessings. Now, at this level, Allahû Tealâ
opens up a light way from the breast of that
person to his heart according to the 125th
verse of Al-An’âm Sura.
We look at this light way that Allah
has opened up, dear readers! When is this
way opened by Allah of use? When a
person does zikir (when a person repeats
the Name of Allah, as Al-lâh, Al-lâh, Al-
lâh…), do the lights of mercy and virtue
come from the Presence of Allah to the
breast of that person? If that person has
wished to reach Allah, they come therein.
Why? Because Allahû Tealâ manifests
Himself with His Name of All-
Compassionate only over those who wish
to reach Allah. Allah’s lights can have a
function only in the bodies over which the
Name of All-Compassionate manifests
itself. Otherwise, they can not have it.
Because of the manifestation of the Name
of All-Compassionate, the hidden barrier
on the eyes, the heaviness in the ears, the
coverings (ekinnet) on the (souls’) hearts
were taken away. The light door of the
heart has turned to Allahû Tealâ. “İhbat”
was put into the (soul’s) heart in place of
“ekinnet”. Allah opened the light way from
the breast of that person to his heart. What
happens if the person does zikir after the
light way has been opened up? The two
lights named “mercy” and “virtue” that
come from (the Presence of) Allah reach
the breast of that person. If that person
were to do zikir before wishing to reach
Allah, what would happen? Nothing at all
would happen. In case he did not zikir,
neither Mercy nor Virtue would come to the
breast of that person from (the Presence
of) Allah, because there is not the
manifestation of the Name of All-
Compassionate over that person. Unless
that person does not wish to reach Allah,
the Name of All-Compassionate does not
manifest itself over him. If he does not, the
mercy and virtue of Allah do not come to
the breast of that person when he does
zikir. But now, the situation has changed.
Allahû Tealâ has made some changes in
this person. He has opened the doors
closed to Him. His eyes were closed, blind.
Henceforth, he is seeing. His ears were
deaf, he is hearing now. His (soul’s) heart
was deprived of comprehension, he is
understanding now. The light door of his
(soul’s) heart has now turned to Allah and
a light way has been opened up from his
breast to his heart. It is at this point that a
64 65 66
pair of lights named “mercy” and “virtue”
come from (the Presence of) Allah to the
breast of that person. As the Name of All-
Compassionate manifests itself now over
him, when he does zikir, the mercy and
virtue will absolutely come down on the
breast of that person. Allah’s lights named
“mercy” and “virtue” arrive at the (soul’s)
heart of that person passing through the
electronic door designed in accordance
with the lights of Mercy and Virtue, through
that way opened with the breast being slit.
But there, they encounter a surprise.
Because that (soul’s) heart is still sealed.
What is worse, the word of Unbelief is still
written therein. So, when this person does
zikir, two lights –mercy and virtue– come to
the breast of that person, and from his
breast to his (soul’s) heart. But the door of
the heart is sealed. Neither mercy nor
virtue can enter it through that sealed door.
But the light of mercy can leak therein.
Now, when the light of mercy begins to
leak into the (soul’s) heart bit by bit
through Allah’s zikir whereas the light of
v i r t u e
cannot enter and leak therein in any way,
the person has attained to the 11th stage.
He has done zikir and mercy has begun to
leak into his soul’s heart. Here, we see that
the mercy and virtue enter it through the
slit part of the breast.
What was Allahû Tealâ saying in the
125th verse of Al-An’âm Sura? Let us
repeat it once again:
Fe men yuridillâhu en yehdiyehu yeşrah
sadrehu lil islâm(islâmi), ve men yurid
en yudıllehu yec’al sadrehu dayyikan
haracen, ke ennemâ yassa’adu fîs
semâi, kezâlike yec’alûllâhur ricse
alâllezîne lâ yu’minûn(yu’minûne).
“And whomsoever Allah wills to make
reach Himself He slits the breast of that
person.”
He opens up a light way from his
breast to his heart. For what? for İslâm. In
order that that person becomes a Muslim
(İslâm) in the real sense of the word by
surrendering his spirit, his physical body,
his soul and his free will to Allah. İslâm
means Surrender. The Qur’ân comprises
the four surrenders, the surrenders of the
spirit, the physical body, the soul and the
free will. Allah opens up a light way so that
these surrenders can be realized by the
slitting of the breast. What happens then?
Allahû Tealâ’s mercy begins to leak into
67 68 69
the (soul’s) heart. Here is the 11th stage.
When this leakage amounts to 2%, then
that person’s heart reaches hushu’ (a
feeling of awe).
Allah decrees so in the 16th verse of
“Has not come for those who are âmenû
(who have wished to reach Allah spiritually
before death) that their (souls’) hearts
have awe for (with) Allah’s zikir and that
which (the light) has sent down from the
Truth (Hakk, Allah)?”
Mercy cannot enter that person’s
heart more than 2%. Why can’t it enter it?
Because, if it enters it more than this
amount, the repulsive force of the word of
Disbelief in the soul’s heart repels the
mercy from the sphere where it is
dominant. When 2% of mercy has accumu-
lated in the (soul’s) heart of that person,
then he has reached hushu’ (a feeling of
awe). What happens if he has reached
hushu’? Then he has a right to seek his
murshid from Allah. Allah too has a
promise. He absolutely causes that person
to reach his murshid.
Come on! Let us go together to the
Al-Fâtihah Sura, my dear brothers and
sisters! What was Allahû Tealâ saying in
Al-Fâtihah Sura (Opening Chapter)? To be
more exact, what have we been saying
with that Al-Fâtihah Sura that we recite 40
times in a day and with which we
supplicate and entreat Allah? We say:
Eûzübillehimineşşeytânirracîm.
Bismillâhirrahmânirrahîm.
“I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the
Rejected (Accursed). In the Name of Allah,
the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate.”
The Name of All-Merciful (Rahmân)
is for everybody, whereas the Name of All-
Compassionate is for those who have been
âmenû, only for them. Those outside them
cannot benefit from the Name of All-
Compassionate (Rahîm).
El hamdu lillâhi rabbil âlemîn(âlemîne).
“All praise be to Alâh, Lord (Sustainer) of
70 71 72
All the Worlds.”
Er rahmânir rahîm(rahîmi).
“the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate.”
Mâliki yevmid dîn(dîne).
“Master of the Day of the Religion.”
İyyâke na’budu
“Only You do we serve (worship).”
Ve iyyâke nestaîn(nestaînu).
“From You Alone do we seek (special)
Help.”
What do we mean by saying: “Only
You do we serve (We become servants to
You Alone)? Allahû Tealâ says in the 56th
verse of Adh-Dhâriyât Sura:
Ve mâ halaktul cinne vel inse illâ li
ya’budûn(ya’budûni).
“And I did not create the jinn and the men
(mankind) except that they should serve Me
(Alone) (they should be servants to Me).
That is to say, let them surrender
their spirits to Us so that their spirits can
be servants to Us. Let them surrender their
physical bodies to Us so that their physical
bodies can be servants to Us. Let them
surrender their souls to Us so that their
souls can be servants to Us. Let them
surrender their free wills to Us so that their
free wills too can be servants to Us. We
have created the human beings for this
purpose, not for any other thing. Here also,
Allahû Tealâ says, to be more exact, we
say to Him:
İyyâke na’budu
“Only You do we serve.”
Because Al-Fâtihah Sura is our
entreaty, supplication, prayer to Allah. Just
conformable to the gist (essence, spirit) of
the Qur’ân. Because we will recite Al-
Fâtihah 40 times in a day at the least, if we
perform every day five timed prayers,
including the sunnas (the Practices of the
Prophet) Our community recites much
more than this, because we perform every
day the prayers for two past days to get out
of debt. We absolutely perform every day a
prayer for praise and thanks (4 rak’ats,
rak’at: complete act of worship with the
prescribed postures).
So, dear readers! What has
happened? Allah’s lights have begun to
enter the person’s heart. These lights have
attained to 2%. The person has been
possessed of “hushu’” (awe). Now, we
73 74 75
consider the content of the one who has
had hushu’: We have said:
İyyâke na’budu
“You Alone do we serve” (To You Alone are
we servants).
Ve iyyâke nestaîn(nestaînu).
“From You Alone do we seek (special)
Help.”
That is from You Alone do we want to
learn who is our murshid. İstiane (special
help) is the Help of Allah concerning
Allah’s making known to us who is our
murshid (who will make our spirit reach
Allah). Allahû Tealâ declares:
Ve ‘alallâhi kasdus sebîl(sebîli)
“And upon Allah is the responsibility to
determine the Way.”
That is, the initial way that will be the
means to make men reach Allah and that
constitutes the firs part of the Straight
Path. Well, if our spirit quits our physical
body and attains to this Way, that is, the
murshid, what happens then? If our spirit
enters it, at the moment we reach our
murshid, the spirit of the Imâm of the Era
comes immediately over our head. He is a
Bounty for us.
Al-Fâtihah Sura continues thereafter
as follows and makes known to us why we
seek the special help (istiâne) from Allah:
İhdinas sırâta’lmustakîm(mustakîme).
“(O our Lord!) Make us reach the Straight
Path (with this special help of You).”
Here the riddle is unraveled:
Sırâtallezîne en’amte ‘aleyhim
“The Path of those over (the heads of)
whom You have bestowed Your Bounty.”
Whosoever may be and whenever he
may be, if he can attain to his murshid with
12 favors (ihsan) by passing through this
process, the spirit of the Imâm of the Era
trained in the Presence of Allah comes
immediately over his head and settles
there. This is a Bounty for him. Allahû
Tealâ speaks of a Bounty, dear readers! A
Bounty is at issue. The spirit of the Imâm of
the Era comes over the head of the person
and the Straight Path (Sırât-ı Mustakîm) is
only the Path of those who carry the spirit
of the Imam of the Era over their heads as
76 77 78
a Bounty. Only their spirits can attain to the
Straight Path.
Gayri’l magdûbi ‘aleyhim ve
laddâllîn(laddâllîne).
“Not (the Path of) those upon whom Your
Wrath is brought down (the Unbelievers),
nor of those who go astray (who are in
Misguidance, who could not reach their
murshids).”
So, dear readers, my intimate
friends, my cordial friends! We are
speaking of a content in the Presence of
Allah. Pay close attention to the fact. In
such a design, the person is made to have
a right to seek the special help (istiâne)
from Allah. We say to Allahû Tealâ: “From
You Alone do we seek the special help
(Iyyâke nestaîn). Make us reach the
Straight Path with this special Help of You,
that Straight Path that is the Path of those
over (the heads of) whom the spirit of the
Imâm of the Era is found as a Bounty.
Because the determination of the ways that
lead (men) to Allah is incumbent on Him.
Everyone enters this Way at the dervish
convent to which he has adhered. The first
way (sebîl) includes the distance from
there to the Main Dervish Convent of the
Imâm of the Era.
And Allahû Tealâ shows us how we
will seek the special help from Him in the
45 and 46th verses of Bakara Sura:
Vesteînû bis sabri ves salât(sâlâti), ve
innehâ le kebîretun illâ alel
hâşiîn(hâşiîne).
“And seek the (special) assistance (from
Allah) through Patience and Prayer (the
requirement Prayer), and most surely it is a
very hard thing except for the humble ones
(the ones who are possessed of a feeling
of awe).”
Ellezîne yezunnûne ennehum mulâkû
rabbihim ve ennehum ileyhi
râciûn(râciûne).
“Who are certain that they shall most
surely meet (reach) their Lord (in this life of
the present world) and that they shall most
certainly return to Him (after death).”
The verse proclaims that the spirit
has two sort of returns (to Allah).
1. The first is Allahû Tealâ’s making
our spirit reach Himself while we are living.
79 80 81
2. The second is this, that our spirit
comes back again and settles over our
head immediately after our death. The
angels charged with our death carry our
spirit back to Allah.
In the first, we send our spirit to Allah
with our own free will. We believe with utter
certainty that this will be so. If so, who are
those men who are possessed of this
feeling of awe (hushu’)?
1. They believe in Allah.
2. They have wished to reach Allah,
they believe that man’s spirit will certainly
reach Allah before death.
3. They believe that this is an obliga-
tion (farz) upon them.
4. They believe that Allah will
absolutely make their spirits reach Himself.
Those owners of “hushu’” seek the
special help (istiâne) from Allah through
Patience and the (requirement) prayer and
this is not hard for those who are
possessed of awe (hushu’), and Allah
absolutely shows them their murshids
when they perform the requirement prayer.
And there, at the 14th stage, they reach
their murshids, kneel down in front of them
and make their repentance. At the 14th
stage where the second 7 stages have
been completed, Allah has completed his
12 favors, too.
His 1st Favor: He takes out the
hidden barrier (hicâb-ı mestûre) on our
eyes.
His 2nd Favor: He takes out the
covering (gışâvet) on our sight (basar).
His 3rd Favor: He takes out the
heaviness (vakrâ) in our ears.
His 4th Favor: He takes out the seal
on our hearing (sem’î)
His 5th Favor: He takes away the
coverings (ekinnet) on our (soul’s) heart.
His 6th Favor: He takes away the
seal on our (soul’s) heart.
His 7th Favor: He puts “ihbat”
(lowliness before Allah) into our (soul’s)
heart.
His 8th Favor: He reaches our
(soul’s) heart (He puts Guidance into our
(soul’s heart.)
82 83 84
His 9th Favor: He turns the door of
our (soul’s) heart to Himself.
His 10th Favor: He opens up (slits) a
light way from our breast into our (soul’s)
heart.
His 11th Favor: He causes us to
reach hushu’ (a sense of awe).
His 12th Favor: He shows us our
murshid when we perform the Requirement
Prayer
We reach our murshid by means of
12 favors. Take heed: Allahû Tealâ speaks
of the Companions (sahâbe) in the 100th
verse of At-Taubah Sura:
Ves sâbikûnel evvelûne minel muhâ-
cirîne vel ensâri vellezînettebeûhum bi
ıhsânin radıyallâhu anhum ve radû anhu
ve eadde lehum cennâtin tecrî tahtehel
enhâru hâlidîne fîhâ ebedâ(ebeden),
zâlikel fevzul azîm(azîmu).
“As for the former competitors (who
occupied the most superior stations of
(“Ulû’l elbâb”, “İhlâs” and “Salâh”): some of
them were the Immigrants (Muhacirîn)
(those who migrated from Mecca to
Medina), some of them were the Helpers
(Ensârs, the citizens of Medina who helped
and gave aid to the Immigrants) and also
those who depended on them with favors
(ihsân).”
The dependent ones who had
depended on the Companions had
depended on them with favors, that is, they
had obtained all the 12 favors. Whomever
of the Companions Allahû Tealâ had
shown them, they had reached that
Companion and depended on him. Each
one had depended on an other one. Those
who had depended have been named the
dependent ones (tâbiîn). The ones on
whom the dependent ones had depended
with favors have been named the
Companions consisting of the Immigrants
(Muhâcirîn) and the Helpers (Ensâr). The
dependence is realized with 12 Favors.
When we reach our murshid and depend
on him with 12 favors, Allahû Tealâ grants
us 7 Blessings:
1st Blessing: The spirit of the Imam
of the Age comes and settles over our
head:
“The Increaser of the degrees and the
Possessor of the (Divine) Throne (‘Arsh)
85 86 87
makes reach a Spirit from His Command (a
spirit that will communicate the decrees of
Allah) over the person He wishes to make
reach Himself) (over the head of the
person Allah wants to make reach Himself
as he wants to reach Him, too) in order to
warn him that the day of his reaching
(Allah) has come.” (40/Ghâfir-15)
2nd Blessing: Allah writes (the word
of) Fatih in the (soul’s) heart of that
person:
You will never find a community (kavmen)
who believes in Allah and the Last Day
loving those who oppose Allah and His
Messenger even if they are their fathers or
their sons or their brothers or their tribes.
He has written (the word of) Fatih into their
(soul’s) hearts and supported them with a
spirit (trained in His Presence) from
Himself and He introduces them into
Gardens beneath which rivers flow. They
will dwell therein eternally. He is pleased
with them and they are pleased with Him.
These are the Party of Allah. Pay heed!
Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will reach
the Salvation (“Felâh”, the Bills of the
Afterlife and the Happiness of this world).
(58/Al-Mujadilah-22)
3rd Blessing: Allahû Tealâ changes
our sins (evil deeds) that we have
committed until that day into recompenses
(good deeds) according to the 70th verse
of Al-Furqân Sura and raises the degrees
(recompenses) He grants us from 10 to 1
to 700 to 1 recompense according to the
261st verse of Al-Baqarah Sura:
The punishment multiplies for him on the
Day of Resurrection (Doomsday) and
remains therein for ever in abjectness;
excepting the one who has repented
(before his murshid) and (as the Faith has
been written into his soul’s heart by
repenting in front of his murshid) become a
believer (whose faith has increased) and
(for the same reason performed acts
improving the soul. Allah will change his
evil deeds (sins) into good deeds
(recompenses, rewards). And Allah is
Most Forgiving, Compassionate (Allah is
the one who changesevil deeds into good
deeds and sends (the light of) Mercy.)
25/Al-Furqân – 69, 70
The parable of those who spend their
property (goods) in the way of Allahis like
the parable of a grain that causes seven
spikes (ears) to sprout (grow). In each
spike there are hundred grains. And Allah
88 89 90
augments (the sustenance) for the ones He
wishes. And Allah is the All-Embracing, the
All-Knowing. (2/Al-Baqarah-261)
4th Blessing: Our spirit leaves our
physical body and arrives at the Straight
Path (leading to Allah). That (Day) (the day
when the hand of the murshid is kissed and
one depends on him) is the Day of Truth
(Hakk, Allah). Whoever wishes ( to reach
Allah) takes a way (the Straight Path) that
causes him to reach his Lord. (Allah) is a
Refuge (for the one who has reach Allah).
(78/An-Naba’-39)
5th Blessing: We begin the soul’s
purification: Whoever commits sins (evil
deeds) will be only punished with its equal.
And whoever does good deeds
(ameliorating deeds, the soul’s
purification) from either males or females -
and he (she) is a believer- they will enter
Paradise and be provided therein with
incalculable sustenance. (40/Ghâfir-40)
6th Blessing: Our free will begins to
be strengthened in proportion to the
decreasing of the darkness(es) in our
(soul’s) heart, because the free will is the
power opposing the vices of. Our soul (‘s
heart). In reality, the free will does not
change, but as the resistance of the
darkness(es) diminish, the free will is
strengthened automatically.
7th Blessing: Our physical body
begins to be fortif ied against Satan
because of the decreasing of the vices in
the soul(‘s heart).
So, my dear brothers and sisters!
These events are completed at the end of
the second 7 stages. Let us consider now
together Ve’l Asr Sura:
Vel asr(asri).
“I swear by the Time.”
İnnel insâne le fî husr(husrin).
“Verily, man is in (utter) loss.”
İllellezîne âmenû
“Except those who are âmenû (those who
have wished to reach Allah spiritually
before death).”
Ve amilûs sâlihâti
“And those who do improving deeds (who
do deeds that improve (purify) the soul (‘s
heart).”
It is here that the second 7 stages of
91 92 93
Ve’l Asr Sura are completed, dear readers!
One more beauty is being completed here.
I am living the happiness of making an
exceptional conversation with you, of
explaining the second 7 stages of Ve’l Asr
Sura to you. To be with you is a great
pleasure for me, dear readers! Endless
praise and thanks be to Allah because
Allahû Tealâ has caused me to taste this
delight.
We wish to complete here our words,
God willing, with our prayers that Allahû
Tealâ may make you attain to both the
Bliss of Paradise and the world’s happi-
ness.
Al-Fatihâ together with the Blessings.
Peace be upon you and His Mercy and
His Blessings.
By the Time – 3
El-Fatihâ together with the Blessings
I take refuge with Allah from Satanthe Accursed.
In the Name of Allah the All-Merciful,the All-Compassionate.
Dear readers, my intimate friends,
my cordial friends! We offer endless
praises and thanks to Allah that we are in a
beautiful togetherness of Allah. You, we
and Allah, we are all together. We are
making a conversation of zikir
(remembrance) of the Qur’ân. We are
together, inşâallah, (God willing) in order
to relate to you the third 7 stages of the 28
stages of Ve’l Asr Sura. Our duty is to
relate them to you and your duty is to give
ear to them. Thereafter? Thereafter, you
will make known these beauties to others.
You will cause them to take delight in the
beauties of Allah. You will relate the
Guidance to them, the guidance already
forgotten in the Qur’ân, the Islâm already
94 95 96
forgotten in the Qur’ân. I am addressing
you who are the lights of the Age of
Guidance, dear readers, the dear adher-
ents of the University of Allah! We offer
endless praises and thanks to Allah that
He addresses us in a magnificent fashion
in Ve’l Asr Sura. It is that Ve’l Asr Sura that
contains the whole of the Glorious Qur’ân.
The entirety of the Glorious Qur’ân, all of
the 28 stages are present in Ve’l Asr Sura.
Let us enter the subject by mentioning
once again Ve’l Asr Sura:
Vel asr(asri).
“I swear by the Time.”
İnnel insâne le fî husr(husrin).
“Men are in utter loss”
That is, the place where they will go
is Hell, to abide therein forever. Those
whose sins are more that their merits are in
loss, consequently in Hell.
İllellezîne âmenû.
“Except those who are âmenû (those who
have wished to reach Allah spiritually
before death).”
Ve amilûs sâlihâti.
“And (except) those who do improving
deeds, who do the soul’s purification.”
Those who are âmenû comprise the
first 7 stages, those who do improving
deeds begin at the second 7 stages.
Improving deeds begin at the second 7
stages.
Ve tevâsav bi’l hakk(hakkı).
“And (except) those who exhort
(recommend) one another to the Truth
(Hakk, Allah).”
This expresses the third 7 stages.
Now, our topic now is to relate to you the
situation of those who exhort one another
to the Truth (Hakk, Allah). One can
recommend the truth to others if one can
attain to the Truth, can experience the
Truth. Who are at the fourth 7 stages?
Those who exhort (recommend) one
another to the Patience.
Ve tevâsav bi’s sabr(sabrı).
“Our subject is the task of those who
exhort one another to steadfastness
(patience), who attain to the Truth and
experience this beauty and desire that all
those around him also may experience the
happiness he himself has been
97 98 99
experiencing.”
This zealous endeavor is aimed at
this: if you are happy, you ought to make
reach this happiness all round you. The
Companions had achieved this, they had
fully performed their duties. Here is the
100th verse of At-Taubah Sura:
Ves sâbikûnel evvelûne minel muhâ-
cirîne vel ensâri vellezînettebeûhum bi
ıhsânin radıyallâhu anhum ve radû anhu
ve eadde lehum cennâtin tecrî tahtehel
enhâru hâlidîne fîhâ ebedâ(ebeden),
zâlikel fevzul azîm(azîmu).
“As for the former competitors: some of
them were the Emigrants (Muhâjirs) and
some the Helpers (Ensârs) and some
others were those who depended on them
with favors.”
So, dear readers! Those who had
depended on the Emigrants and the
Helpers (the Companions of the Prophet)!
The Emigrants (those who had emigrated
from Mecca to Medina) and the Helpers
(those who were the citizens of Medina and
had helped those Emigrants). The
dependants had depended on those
personages, that is, the latter had become
the possessors of the posts of irshad. If so,
all the Companions had surpassed all
these stages and thereafter performed
their duties of irshad, of conveying the
message and thus become the owners of
the posts of irshad.
So, dear readers, my intimate
friends, my cordial friends! Allah be
praised, we have begun a conversation
once again peacefully. Our subject is the
15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21st stages that
begin after the 14th stage. What had the
person done? He had wished to reach
Allah (spiritually before death). And what
had Allah done? He had granted him 12
favors: He had taken out the hidden barrier
on his eyes, the covering on his sight, the
heaviness (vakra) in his ears, the seal on
his hearing, coverings (ekinnet) on his
heart, the seal on his (soul’s) heart, put
“ihbat” instead of “ekinnet”, reaches his
heart, turned his light door to Himself, slit
(opened up) a light way from his breast to
his heart, made him reach hushu (a feeling
of awe), shown him his murshid, made him
reach his murshid whom He had shown him
and ensured his dependence (on his
murshid). We had remained there. Thus,
we have related 12 favors and 7 bounties.
100 101 102
And the person makes the soul’s
purification in a new phase. What is the
soul’s purification? The person does zikir
by repeating as Al-lâh, Al-lâh, Al-lâh…
silently or audibly or from his heart.
Dear readers, my dear brothers and
sisters, my intimate friends, my cordial
friends! What do we see so? The person
does his zikir, performs his duty of zikir
that Allah has made obligatory upon him.
He repeats the Name of Allah. What
happens then? Mercy-virtue and mercy-
benedictions that come from (the Presence
of) Allah arrive at the breast of the person
and from his breast into his heart. They
apply pressure on the seal of the heart,
push it towards the door of darkness and
under the pressure of (the lights of) mercy-
virtue and mercy-benedictions, the seal
reaches the door of darkness, seals it,
closes it. How long? As long as the
pressure of mercy-virtue and mercy-
benedictions (salavât) on the seal
continues. How long does it continue? As
long as you do zikir. If so, with zikir that is
done, such a thing is formed in the (soul’s)
heart of the person.
Zikir (Remembrance) keeps the door
of darkness completely locked during zikir
thanks to (the lights of) mercy-virtue and
mercy-benedictions. Well, what is the
result of mercy-virtue and mercy-
benedictions that reach the (soul’s) heart?
Virtues possess a magnetic field that is
opposite to the force of attraction of the
word of Faith. As the two opposite poles
will attract each other, the word of Faith
(Belief) attracts the (light of) virtue to itself.
Virtues that enter the field of attraction
accumulate around the word of Faith,
adhere to it. As the magnetic field
continues uninterruptedly, virtues do not
leave the inside of the (soul’s) heart, they
occupy it by adhering to it. Zikir continues;
during zikir, virtues settle around the word
of Faith, occupy more and more extensive
sphere. It is not possible for these lights
settled around this word of Faith to depart
from there under normal conditions. As
long as the word of Faith remains in the
(soul’s) heart, as it is stuck on the inner
side of the heart, virtues too that are stuck
to it will occupy the (soul’s) heart together
with it (the word of Faith), will remain
therein together with it. As long as the
word of Faith will remain in the heart, a
beauty will be experienced continuously.
This, the process of the accumulation of
103 104 105
the virtues in the soul’s heart is named the
soul’s purification. With what had it begun?
It had begun with the entering of 2% of
mercy, not with that of virtues into the
soul’s heart of that person. The person had
thus reached hushu’ (a feeling of awe) at
the 12th stage. But the purification of the
soul (’s heart) is not the settlement of the
mercy into it, it is the settlement of the
virtues that will fill up the soul’s heart at
the rate of 98% in addition to 2% of mercy.
That is, it is the improving deeds, it is the
actions that will improve the soul (’s heart),
that will make man reach the improvement
(salâh).
So, dear readers! In this way, you will
be face to face with the beauties of the
soul step by step as long as the soul’s
heart is filled with the lights. The lights in
the soul’s heart reach 7% beginning from
1%, 2% … etc. What are these lights?
These are 7% of virtues beyond 2% of
mercy. When these virtues pervade
completely your soul’s heart, you become
a virtuous human being. That is to say, you
assume a quality thanks to which your
soul’s heart is filled with virtues, you obey
all the Commands of Allah, you never
commit the actions forbidden by Him. If so,
dear readers, my dear brothers and
sisters, my intimate friends, my cordial
friends! If there is 7% of accumulation of
light in your soul’s heart, if this is
completed therein, what happens? At that
point, you are at (the stage of) the Evil-
Commanding Soul. 7% of light has been
constituted in your soul’s heart. Virtues
have a peculiarity, a constitution that fulfils
all the Commands of Allah and never
commits the actions He has forbidden. As
for the vices that formerly occupied your
soul’s heart 100%: They have a property
that rebels all the Commands of Allah,
never wants to execute them but desires to
commit all the actions He has forbidden.
Satan and these vices are turned to the
same goal. For this reason, it is not at all
possible for Satan to have a dominance
over man. Because what Satan commands
are the actions forbidden by Allah.
Because what Satan commands is this,
that which Allah commands should not be
fulfilled. In which case, Satan commands
men not to perform the Commands of
Allah. The vices of the soul too have the
same nature. They desire not to obey the
Commands of Allah. Satan wants them to
commit the actions that Allah has
forbidden. They also have this constitution
106 107 108
in any way. They have been created as
being turned to desire all that Allah has
forbidden. So, it is very easy for Satan to
act upon them. Because both Satan and
the vices of our soul’s heart have the same
nature. That is, the vices of our soul (’s
heart) have a nature that will play into
Satan’s hands. And while your soul’s heart
is filled with vices 100%, firstly 2% of
mercy enters it at the 12th stage. After the
14th stage, when you have arrived at the
15th stage, an accumulation of 7% of
virtues in your soul’s heart has been
realized. When this is realized, where are
you then? You are at (the stage of) the
Evil-Commanding soul. Hz. Yûsuf (Joseph)
says:
Ve mâ uberriu nefsî, innen nefse le
emmâretun bis sûı illâ mâ rahime rabbî,
inne rabbî gafûrun rahîm(rahîmun).
“I cannot exonerate my soul. Most surely,
(man’s) soul is wont to command (him to
do) evil, except such as my Lord has had
mercy on [except those over (the heads of)
whom my Lord manifests Himself with His
Name of All-Compassionate].”
So, the manifestation of Allah with
His Name of All-Compassionate (Rahîm)
has begun upon that person, the light of
mercy that is a sign of the Name of All-
Compassionate has entered the (soul’s)
heart, has settled therein. The advance
outpost has come, taken place there. The
advance forces, that is, lights have settled
into the (soul’s) heart at the rate of 2%.
Thereafter, the remaining 98% will be
virtues. What happens when the first 7% of
virtues has accumulated? You know that
your soul is an hostage in your physical
body. Allahû Tealâ decrees so in the 38, 39
and 40th verses of Al-Muddaththir Sura:
Kullu nefsin bimâ kesebet
rehîneh(rehînetun). İllâ ashâbel
yemîn(yemîni). Fî cennât(cennâtin),
yetesâelûn(yetesâelûne).
“Every soul is held in pledge (is a hostage)
for what (the degrees) he earns.” That is,
the degrees they have lost are more than
these they have earned and they are thus
the hostages. “Except those who have
fulfilled their vows (yemîn).” They are the
souls that have been delivered from being
hostages “(They will be) in Gardens.”
So, know that your soul is a hostage
in your physical body. Unless this hostage
is purified, your spirit cannot reach Allah,
whereas Allahû Tealâ has made your
109 110 111
spirit ’s reaching Himself upon you
obligatory just 12 times. Has He made? Let
us consider this together:
Ve enîbû ilâ rabbikum ve eslimû lehu
min kabli en ye’tiyekumul azâbu summe
lâ tunsarûn(tunsarûne).
“And turn to your Lord (repentant) [wish to
reach Allah spiritually before death] and
surrender (submit) to Him before there
comes to you the (grave) torment, then you
shall not be helped.”
Direct your spirit towards Allah and
then surrender your spirit to Allah. Then
surrender your physical body, your soul
and your will power (free will) to Him. The
sacred verse comprises all of these. But at
the beginning, particularly your spirit has
to surrender. As for this surrender, your
soul has to be purified at the rate of 51%,
that is, more than 50%. At (the stage of)
the Evil-Commanding Soul, there is an
initial accumulation of virtues at the rate of
7%. Your spirit ascends from the Ground
Floor to the First Heavenly Floor (Layer), is
authorized to prostrate himself there. As
soon as the soul realizes an accumulation
of virtues at the rate of 7%, the hostage
(the soul) opens the door of the first
heavenly floor to the spirit with a remote
control. And then, the person will do more
zikir. Meanwhile, the physical body of this
person whose spirit can ascend to the first
heavenly floor is delivered from being a
servant of Satan at the rate of 7%.
Because Satan cannot have control any
more over the part of the soul’s heart
where 7% of virtues has accumulated. The
domination of Satan has completely
terminated in that part. The virtues there
have assumed a particularity that fulfils all
the Commands of Allah and does not
commit any actions forbidden by Him. Well,
the spirit has attained to the first heavenly
floor. What happens? The person does
much more zikir. As long as he increases
his zikir, there will be an accumulation of
light once, twice, three times, four, five,
six, seven times. Let us consider once
more the obligatoriness of your spirit’s
reaching Allah before death. We have
already mentioned one verse: 39/Zumer-
54. The second verse is 30/Ar-Rûm-31:
Munîbîne ileyhi vettekûhu ve ekîmûs
salâte ve lâ tekûnû minel
muşrikîn(muşrikîne).
“Turn(ing) to Him (repentant), (wish to
reach Allah) and be the possessors of
takvâ!” [and be careful of (your duty to)
112 113 114
Him!]
“After such a wish, you spirit will
reach Allah and you will be the possessor
of takvâ anew” means this verse. The 3rd
verse is 89/Al-Fajr-28.
89/Al-Fajr – 28:
İrciî ilâ rabbiki râdıyeten
mardıyyeh(mardıyyeten).
“Return to your Lord!” reach your Lord by
returning to Him! says Allahû Tealâ to our
spirit.
The 4th verse is 51/Adh-Dhâriyât-50.
51/Adh-Dhâriyât – 50:
Fe firrû ilâllâh(ilâllâhi), innî lekum
minhu nezîrun mubîn(mubînun).
“Therefore flee to Allah!”
The Essence (Zât) of Allah is a
Refuge and our spirit’s taking refuge with
Him is essential. If so, we are charged with
taking shelter in Him.
The 5th verse is 31/Luqmân-15.
31/Luqmân – 15:
...vettebi’ sebîle men enâbe ileyy
(ileyye) ...
“And follow the Way of him who turns to Me
(repentant), reach Me.”
You too, by proceeding towards Me
on the Straight Path he has followed, says
Allahû Tealâ.
The 6th verse is 10/Yûnus-25.
10/Yûnus – 25:
Vallâhu yed'û ilâ dâris selâm(selâmi), ve
yehdî men yeşâu ilâ sırâtin
mustekîm(mustekîmin).
“And Allah invites (men) to the Abode of
Surrender (that is, to His Essence that
takes delivery of their spirits) and causes
whom He pleases to reach the Straight
Path.”
The Straight Path is the name of the
way that leads (men) to the Essence of
Allah. For Allahû Tealâ says so in the
175th verse of An-Nisâ' Sura:
“Then as for those who believe in Allah and
(wish to) hold fast by Him, He will cause
them to enter into His mercy and virtue
(grace) and make them reach a Straight
Path (leading them) to Himself.”
115 116 117
In an other verse of the Noble
Qur’an, Allahû Tealâ says: “Sırâtı ileyye
mustakîmâ” (15/41). The path directed at
Me, the Way that will make men reach Me.
The 7th verse is 73/Al-Muzzammil-8.
73/Al-Muzzammil – 8:
Vezkurisme rabbike ve tebettel ileyhi
tebtîlâ(tebtîlen).
“And remember (repeat) the Name of your
Lord and return to Him by detaching your-
self from anything else.”
The 8th verse is 13/Ar-Ra'd-21.
13/Ar-Ra'd – 21:
Vellezîne yasılûne mâ emerallâhu bihî
en yûsale ve yahşevne rabbehum ve
yehâfûne sûel hisâb(hisâbi).
“And they make reach that which (their
spirits) Allah has commanded to make
reach Himself and have awe of their Lord
and fear the Evil Reckoning.”
The 9th verse is 42/Ash-Shûra-47
42/Ash-Shûra – 47:
İstecîbû li rabbikum min kabli en ye’tiye
yevmun lâ meredde lehu minallâh(minal-
lâhi), mâ lekum min melcein yevme izin
ve mâ lekum min nekîr(nekîrin).
“Answer (the Call of) your Lord before
there comes a Day from Allah for which
there shall be no averting.” Return to Allah,
make your spirit reach Allah before that
day of death.
We have seen what is the Call of
Allah: Allahû Tealâ says: Reach the
Essence (Zât) of Allah.
The 10th verse is 6/Al-An'âm – 152.
6/Al-An'âm – 152:
ve bi ahdillâhi evfû
“And fulfill Allah’s Oath!”
That is, surrender your spirit, your
physical body, your soul and your free will
(will power) to Allah.
6/Al-An'âm – 153:
Hâzâ sırâtî mustekîmen fettebiûh(fette-
biûhu)”.
“And that is My Path, the Straight One
(directed at Me), therefore follow it”.
Reach Allah by proceeding on this
118 119 120
Straight Path.
The 11th verse is 5/Al-Mâ'idah-7
And remember the Blessing of Allah on you
and His Covenant with which He bound you
firmly, when you said: “We have heard and
obeyed”. Upon the demand of Allah, we
had given Him our Word (Covenant) that
we should surrender our spirit, our physical
body, our soul and our free will to Him. And
Allah had made our Covenant obligatory
upon us. A Covenant that is equal to
Allah’s Oath (Ahdallah).
The 12th verse is 4/An-Nisâ'-58.
4/An-Nisâ’ – 58:
İnnallâhe ye’murukum en tueddûl
emânâti ilâ ehlihâ...
“Surely Allah commands you to render
back (make over) Trusts to His Owner
(Allah).”
Our spirit’s reaching Allah before
death had been made obligatory upon us
12 times. And this is the first Guidance (our
spirit’s reaching Allah before dying). Allahû
Tealâ says in the 73th verse of Âl-‘Imrân
Sura:
“İnnel hudâ hudallâh(hudallâhi)” “inne”
“surely”, “elhudâ” “the Guidance (hidâyet)”
“hudallâh” “is to reach Allah”
He says in the 120th verse of Al-
Baqarah Sura:
“inne hudâllâhi huvel hudâ” “inne” “sure-
ly, of a certainty”, “hudallâhi” “reaching
Allah” “huve” “that (is)”, “elhudâ” “the
Guidance (hidâyet)”.
And Allahû Tealâ says also in the
13th verse of Ash-Shûra Sura:
Şerea lekum mined dîni mâ vassâ bihî
nûhan vellezî evhaynâ ileyke ve mâ vas-
saynâ bihî ibrâhîme ve mûsâ ve îsâ, en
ekîmûd dîne ve lâ teteferrekû fîh(fîhi),
kebure alel muşrikîne mâ ted’ûhum
ileyh(ileyhi), allâhu yectebî ileyhi men
yeşâu ve yehdî ileyhi men
yunîb(yunîbu).
“Allah chooses for Himself whom He
pleases and causes him who turns (to Him)
[directs himself towards Allah] wishes to
reach Allah] to reach Himself.”
In which case, reaching Allah is
obligatory upon us twelve times and it is
Allah who will make our spirit reach
Himself. Now, the process (of reaching
121 122 123
Allah) is beginning: our spirit is arriving at
the first heavenly floor having an
accumulation of 7% of light together with
those who are ascending with him. Others
are ascending to the more superior floors.
Those who ascended together with our
spirit are remaining there. Thereafter, we
increase our zikir more and more: The
second accumulation of virtues. What
happens then? Our spirit ascends to the
second heavenly floor. This is the point
where we blame our soul, the stage of the
Self-Accusing Soul:
75/Al-Qiyâmah – 2:
Ve lâ uksimu bin nefsil levvâmeh(lev-
vâmeti).
“Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul.”
At the stage where we accuse our
soul, our spirit ascends to the second
heavenly floor with an accumulation of
virtues in our soul’s heart at the rate of 7%
for the second time. The hostage (our soul)
opens the door of the second heavenly
floor. A further accumulation of 7% of light
(virtue): we are at (the stage of) the
Inspired Soul. We begin to receive
inspirations from Allah, but Satan too
continues to inspire into us.
91/Ash-Shams – 7, 8, 9:
Ve nefsin ve mâ sevvâhâ. Fe elhemehâ
fucûrehâ ve takvâhâ. Kad efleha men
zekkâhâ.
“And (by) the soul and Him that fashioned
him (it) [designed him (it) in seven levels].
Then inspired him (it) with sin (fucûr) and
piety (takvâ) [then (Satan’s) fucûr and
(Allah’s) takvâ are inspired into him (it)].
He has indeed prospered [attained the
Salvation who purifies him (it)].”
Thus, we attain to a floor where we
begin to receive inspirations from Allah
according to the 8th verse of Ash-Shams
Sura. Here is the third heavenly floor.
Thereafter, a further accumulation of 7% of
virtues and the 4th heavenly floor. We are
at (the stage of) the Satisfied Soul.
89/Al-Fajr – 27, 28:
Yâ eyyetuhen nefsul mutmainneh(mut-
mainnetu). İrciî ilâ rabbiki râdıyeten
mardıyyeh(mardıyyeten).
“O Satisfied Soul! (Be) well-pleased (with
Allah), well-pleasing (Him).”
He addresses the spirit: “Return to
your Lord!” Let us look at the 28th verse of
124 125 126
Ar-Ra'd Sura, too. What does Allahû Tealâ
say?
Elâ bi zikrillâhi tatmainnul
kulûb(kulûbu).
“Now surely by Allah’s remembrance (zikir)
are the hearts satisfied (set at rest).
It is definite that the (souls’) hearts
will surpass the stages of “Emmâre” (Evil-
Commanding), “Levvâme” (self-Accusing),
“Mulhîme” (Inspired) and come to the stage
of “Mutmainne” (Satisfied, set at rest). We
attain to the stage of the Evil-Commanding
Soul (Nefs-i Emmâre) by way of the first
accumulation of virtues at the rate of 7%.
We are at the first heavenly floor. We
attain to the stage of the Self-Accusing
Soul (Nefs-i Levvâme) by means of a sec-
ond accumulation of 7% of virtues. We are
then at the second heavenly floor. We
attain to the stage of the Inspired Soul
(Nefs-i Mulhime) thanks to a third accumu-
lation of 7% of virtues (in our soul’s heart).
We are at the third heavenly floor. We
attain to the stage of the Satisfied Soul
(Nefs-i Mutmainne) through a fourth accu-
mulation of 7% of virtues and our spirit
arrives at the fourth heavenly floor.
At the second heavenly floor, the
spirits are immersed into the pools of
immersion. They prostrate themselves at
the third heavenly layer in a two-floored
masjid (mosque). Thereafter, they pass
from the third floor (layer) to the fourth one
through the hole of touchstone (test). At
the fourth floor, there is the original of the
Beytu’l Makdes (the Farthest Mosque in
Jarusalem). The spirit arrives there,
prostrates himself, remains there. We are
at the stage of the satisfied Soul (Nefs-i
Mutmainne). The person definitely realizes
that all that Allah has granted him is
sufficient for him. He thinks so: if Allah had
given me more than these, perhaps I would
have spent them wrongly; if He had given
me less than these, maybe I would have
rebelled against Allah. Surely, Allah knows
what is the most suitable for me; what He
has given me is the most fitting for me. The
person is decisively satisfied with what
Allah has granted him. Afterwards, the
person increases his zikir much more,
there is a fifth accumulation of 7% of light
(virtue) in his soul’s heart and the person is
at (the stage of) the Soul well-Pleased. He
is well-pleased with Allah. The place where
his spirit has attained is the original of the
Beytu’l Haram (the Sacred Mosque at
127 128 129
Mecca), is the fifth heavenly floor. The two
Mosques have great differences from one
another, but both have domes and portals.
The original of the Beytu’l Makdes (the
Farthest Mosque) is then at the 4th
heavenly floor and that of the Mescidi’l
Harâm (the Sacred Mosque) at the 5th
heavenly floor. Here we are at (the stage
of) the Soul Well-Pleased. We become
well-pleased with Allah at the Sacred
Mosque where our spirit has ascended.
Later, our spirit reaches the place of
“Sıbgatullah” (Allah’s Hue). A phosphorous
light dyes the skins of all the spirits with its
own color and cracks them. The spirits
becomes “sıbgatulah” there (the spirits
become dyed with Allah’s Hue there). Here
is the 6th heavenly floor. When we are
dyed with Allah’s Color there, He too is
well-pleased with us.
Râdıyeten mardıyyeh(mardıyyeten).
“(Be) well-pleased (with Allah), the 5th
heavenly floor; (Be) well-pleasing (Him)
[Obtain the Consent of Allah], the 6th
heavenly floor]”. (89/Al-Fajr-28).
Thus, the spirit comes nearer and
nearer to Allah at the 5th and 6th floors.
When he accumulates 7% of light (virtue);
he is at (the stage of) the Purified Soul).
Ve men tezekkâ fe innemâ yetezekkâ li
nefsih(nefsihi), ve ilallâhil masîr
(masîru).
“And whoever purifies himself, he purifies
himself only for his own soul”.
Why? Because his soul had given his
vow (yemîn) to Allah in the Pre-eternity
concerning this, that he would surrender to
Allah by purifying and refining himself.
“…ve ilallahi’l masîr.” “and his spirit
returns to Allah.” The spirit attains to the
7th heavenly floor, surpasses the Cells of
Destiny, the Mother of the Book (Ummu’l
Kitab), the Sea of Power, the Praised
Station, the Council of the Improved ones,
the Cells of Zikir (Remembrance), comes
to the Divine Proximity (Ind-i İlâhî) and to
its highest point which is the Farthest Lote-
tree (the Lote-tree of the utmost boundary)
and from there to the Essence of Allah with
a vertical journey and is annihilated in Him,
dear readers! The place where our spirit
reaches the Essence of Allah is the place
where the soul’s purification is realized.
The spirit comes back to Allah, says the
verse. What was Allahû Tealâ saying in the
13th verse of Ash-Shûra Sura?
130 131 132
“Allah chooses for Himself whomever He
will, and makes reach him (among them)
who turns to Him (is directed towards Him,
wishes to reach Him) (repentant).”
Now, Allah has caused our spirit to
reach Himself. What will happen
thereafter? Thereafter, our spirit will take
shelter in Him (our spirit will be sheltered
by Him). He has reached Allah but he has
not been sheltered by Him yet. He has not
been annihilated in Allah yet. He has
reached the Essence of Allah. The 21th
stage is completed here.
The 3rd 7 stages are formed within
these standards. In which case, 7 times 7%
of virtues (49%) plus 2% of mercy
accumulated 51% of lights in our soul’s
heart. Before, our soul’s heart was filled
with 100% of vices. 51% of these vices
have been thrown out. What has Allah
done? Firstly, He has taken out the word of
Disbelief in the (soul’s) heart. What is His
purpose for this? His purpose is this, that
the word of Disbelief should not prevent
Allah’s lights from entering it. With its field
of attraction, it could have prevented them
from entering the soul’s heart. Firstly, He
has taken it out. What has He done? He
has written the word of Faith (Belief) so
that the virtues may accumulate in our
soul’s heart. The word of Faith has begun
to bring together the virtues around it and
49% of virtues (7 times 7%) and 2% of
mercy have been realized in our soul’s
heart. The vices in our soul’s heart have
decreased to 49% because of an
accumulation of 51% of lights therein.
Allah’s lights increased from 0% to 51%,
are now preponderant. As for the vices in
our soul’s heart: they have decreased from
100% to 49%.
At this point, let us look at the
equilibrium, my dear brothers and sisters!
When Allahû Tealâ brings us into the
world, our soul’s heart is filled with 100%
of vices. But, contrary to this, our spirit’s
heart is filled with 100% of good qualities.
Thus, we are in a state of perfect equilibri-
um, our spirit on our right side and our soul
on our left side are counterbalanced (100%
counteracted). One side calls to the evil,
the other side to the good 100%. Within
these standards we enter the lane in a
state of perfect balance. Everbody enters
the lane in an equality. Allahû Tealâ
decrees:
133 134 135
Lekad halaknel insâne fî ahseni
takvîm(in). Summe redednâhu esfele
sâfilîn(sâfilîne).
“Certainly We have created man in the
most beautiful mould Then We reduced
him to the lowest of the low.”
That is, we have created the soul as
a being that will be able to attain to the
most beautiful design in a certain period of
time (in a calendar = takvîm). But, instead
of attaining to this goal, if the person
becomes a slave of his soul, his ego, his
vices, then we bring him down (reduce
him) to the Lowest of the Low, to the
Bottom of the Hell. So, what has happened
here? The vices in our soul’s heart have
decreased from 100% to 49%. The virtues
have increased from 0% to 49%, the mercy
from 0% to 2%. Thus, our soul’s heart is
fi l led with 51% of l ights (mercy and
virtues). That is, 51% of our soul’s heart
obeys all the Commands of Allah, does not
commit the actions He has forbidden. Our
spirit’s heart obeys all the Commands of
Allah 100%, never commits that which He
has forbidden. If we are to consider our
spirit as a whole as 100 units and 51% of
our soul’s heart as 51 units, 151 units in us
wish to fulfill all the Commands of Allah
and not to commit any actions He has
forbidden. Only 49 units out of 200 units,
that is, nearly 25%, do not obey the
Commands of Allah, try to commit the
actions forbidden by Him. My dear brothers
and sisters! This amount has not so much
importance. But, unfortunately, the Devil
always tells l ies to the man, always
deceives him whom he reaches with his
terrible effort of influencing him, by
imitating his thoughts with his voice. The
devil busies him with all of you one by one.
And you have to attain to continuous zikir
and your heart’s ear has to be opened so
that you may hear Allah. But everybody
hears Satan all the time. So, Satan is a
creature authorized by Allahû Tealâ to
cause you to hear all the time his voice
beginning from your childhood. He is the
representative of the evil. And for this
reason, when you take the lights in the
soul’s heart and those in the spirit’s heart
into consideration, the beauties that will
obey Allah’s commands and never commit
His prohibitions are 75%, 76% or 151 to
200. As for that which opposes the
Commands of Allah: they are only 49 to
200, but Satan is always there to intensify
them. Therefore, your happiness goes only
136 137 138
a little beyond it, beyond 50%. At this level,
you cannot be happy at the rate of 75%.
Here is the place where your spirit has
attained. My dear brothers and sisters!
Beginning from the moment you have
wished to reach Allah, Satan has no
dominance over you until you will attain to
this point. Allahû Tealâ says:
İnnehu leyse lehu sultânun ‘alellezîne
âmenû ve ‘alâ rabbihim
yetevekkelûn(yetevekkelûne).
“Surely he (Satan) has no authority over
those who are âmenû (who wish to reach
Allah spiritually before death and surrender
to Him) and put their trust in their Lord.”
Why has he no authority over them?
Because the person is taken under
protection (control) by Allahû Tealâ just
after he has wished to reach Allah. Allah
hinders Satan from influencing him
beginning from the moment he wishes to
reach Allah. Why? Because Allah has a
promise: He says: “Whoever wishes to
reach Me, I shall make him reach Myself.”
In order that Allah makes him reach
Himself, the person has to fulfill the duties
that are incumbent upon him:
He has to perform the prayers, to
fast, to do zikir… Allahû Tealâ will make
him fulfill all these duties by causing him to
love them. Allahû Tealâ absolutely nullifies
(annihilates) the dominance of Satan over
that person until he makes his spirit reach
Allah. The person reaches Guidance. That
is, Allah makes his spirit reach Himself,
then the protecting shield is removed.
From this point on, Satan will try to
influence him incessantly. He will always
keep him under pressure from his right
side, left side, from his front side, from his
back side, he will try to cause this person
who has already reached guidance to fall
from it (into misguidance).
Notice that two kinds of persons will
reach this point of guidance:
1) The persons who have wished to
reach Allah but failed to put their trusts in
him.
2) The persons who have wished to
reach Allah and put their trusts in Him.
So, he is out of the sphere of
influence of Satan both as he has wished
to reach Allah –Satan is unable to take him
under his influence– and as he has put his
trust in Allah Satan cannot take him away
139 140 141
from Allah’s Way by influencing him. Both
groups of people reach Guidance. Those
who place their trusts in Allah can be
easily discernable: The person whose
spirit has arrived in Allah with 33.000 times
of zikir, if he is to continue it as 35.000,
37.000, 39.000, 41.000 and above them,
that person is the one who has put his trust
in Allah (ehl-i tevekkül).
Allahû Tealâ says:
“If you believe in Me, put your trust in
Me; if you do so, you are the most
powerful”.
Satan cannot overcome you and
cause you to fall from guidance (into
Misguidance). But if the person has not put
his trust in Allah, if he has merely wished
to reach Allah, if Allahû Tealâ has caused
him to reach Himself as he has only
become âmenû, if the person could not
come to his senses while in the Way, then
he begins to go down slowly after having
reached guidance. His zikirs decrease, his
prayers decrease; his worships for Allah
become feeble slowly, dissolve insensibly
and the person makes a journey
downwards. Whoever among them forgets
Allah, that is to say, whoever does not care
of the performance of the prayers any
longer, is not concerned at all about the
fastings, the zikirs, the relations with Allah,
has returned to his way of life prior to his
entering “tasavvuf” (sufism), he falls into
“fısk”. Dear readers! Then that person has
forgotten Allah. This person will again
oppose Allah’s verses (signs), he will
forget Allah just l ike he was before
entering “tasavvuf” (Islâm in the Qur’ân,
Sufism). Among those who have reached
guidance, there are people also who do not
pass through such a process. But as for
those who have fallen into “fısk”, Satan
takes them immediately under his influence
after their having reached guidance, tries
to cause them to deviate from the Way and
in a very short period of time he manages
to do it. They are few in number, one in
thousand. But the Misguidance after
Guidance is formed in this fashion.
Consider well what Allahû Tealâ says
in the 257th verse of Al-Baqarah Sura:
2/Al-Baqarah – 257:
Allahu velîyyullezîne âmenû,
yuhricuhum minez zulumâti ilen
nûr(nûri),
“Allahu is the Protecting Friend of those
142 143 144
who are âmenû (of those who have wished
to reach Allah spiritually before death), He
brings them (their souls’ hearts) out of the
darknesses into the light.”
That is to say, He causes them to
arrive in Him. As for the second group of
people:
2/Al-Baqarah – 257:
vellezîne keferû evliyâuhumut tâgûtu
yuhricûnehum minen nûri ilâz
zulumât(zulumâti),
“and (as to ) those who disbelieve, their
friends are “Tâgût” (Satans from the jinn
and the men) who take them out of the light
into the darknesses.”
But whoever has changed his nature
after having arrived at Allah (vuslat), has
turned once more to Unbelief, then Allahû
Tealâ takes away the word of Faith in his
(soul’s) heart, all the operations reverse:
His spirit is rendered back to that person,
the spirit of the Imam of the Era is taken
from over him, the word of Faith in the
(soul’s) heart of that person is taken out,
the word of Unbelief is put again therein
and his (soul’s) heart is sealed once again
by Allahû Tealâ. The way slit from his
breast to his heart is annihilated, the door
of light on the (soul’s) heart is brought
again into a position turned to Satan.
“Ihbat” in the soul’s heart of that person is
taken out and “ekinnet” is put therein
instead of it. “Vakra” (immaterial
heaviness) is put in the ears and the
hidden barrier (hicâb-ı mestûre) on the
eyes. And the Name of the All-
Compassionate of Allah is removed from
over that person. This is to fall from
Guidance into Misguidance.
Allahû Tealâ declares this in the 257
verse of Al-Baqarah Sura:
2/Al-Baqarah – 257:
vellezîne keferû evliyâuhumut tâgûtu
yuhricûnehum minen nûri ilâz
zulumât(zulumâti),
“and (as to) those who disbelieve, their
friends are “Tâgût” (satans from the jinn
and the men) who take them out of the light
into the darknesses”.
So, dear readers, my intimate
friends, my cordial friends! Here is the 21st
stage where our spirit reaches Allah. The
third 7 stages are completed here. Pay
close attention to those who have placed
145 146 147
their trusts in Allah that they do not leave
their zikirs at 33.000, that they can go on
increasing them more and more. They
perform their prayers, fast willingly. They
constantly raise everything to its most
beautiful point in their relations with Allah.
They are those who have chosen to
attempt the uphill road (to assault the
steep road). Dear readers, my intimate
friends, my cordial friends! The third 7
stages, the third 7 stages of Ve’l Asr Sura
are completed here.
Let us consider again Ve’l Asr Sura:
Vel asr(asri).
“I swear by the Time”
İnnel insâne le fî husr(husrin).
“Most surely man is in (utter) loss”
İllellezîne âmenû
“Except those who are âmenû (those who
have wished to reach Allah spiritually
before death, those who have surpassed
the first 7 stages)”
Ve amilûs sâlihâti.
“And (except) those who do improving
deeds (those who have begun the soul’s
purification)”
At the end of the second 7 stages,
the soul’s purification begins.
Ve tevâsav bil hakk(hakkı).
“and (except) those who exhort
(recommend) one another to the Truth
(Hakk, Allah).”
Who are those who recommend
(others) to the Truth? Those who have
reached the Truth (Hakk, Allah). Now, the
one who has attained to the Truth at the
third 7 stages, who has tasted this great
delight, experienced this happiness, the
worldly happiness more than half, become
Allah’s Friend (Saint) by making his spirit
reach Him will relate to others surrounding
him zealously what he has been relating to
them so that they also may be happy. It is
they who recommend (others) to the Truth.
They are those who recommend to the
Truth by reaching It. For this reason, all of
you are charged with recommending
(others) to the Truth.
Dear readers! One more beauty is
completed here. We are ending our words
here by beseeching from our Exalted Lord
that He may make you reach that which is
148 149 150
beyond this, this point where you will be of
those who will surrender also their physical
bodies, their souls and their free wills to
Allah and that you may be made to
possess both the worldly happiness and
the eternal felicity of Paradise 100%. We
pray to Allah for this. Dear readers, my inti-
mate friends, my cordial friends! May Allah
be pleased with all of you!
El-Fâtihâ together with the Benedictions.
Peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy and
His blessings.
By the Time – 4
El-Fatihâ together with the Blessings
I take refuge with Allah from Satanthe Accursed.
In the Name of Allah the All-Merciful,the All-Compassionate.
151 152 153
Dear readers, We offer endless praises and thanks to Allah that we aretogether once more in order to live abeauty of Allah, to make a conversation ofzikir (remembrance) again. God willing(inallh), I want to relate to you thefourth 7 stages.
You know that the Noble Qurn constitutes a spectrum, a whole of 28stages. These 28 stages are formed of fourtimes 7 stages. We had related to you thefirst, second and third 7 stages and we hadcompleted the 21st stage. The spirit hadreached Allah. The first guidance, reachingAllah (spiritually before death), had beencompleted. What happens thereafter? Now,our subject is this. After having reachedAllah, our spirit is annihilated in Allah, inthe Essence (Zt) of Allah. That is, he is
Fenfillh. Fen = being annihilated, f= in, Allah = Allah, God. Our spirit hadcome from Allah. He had breathed HisSpirit into each man and placed 12 obligations into the Noble Quran so thatthe spirit has to return to him while the person is alive. And within this design, ourspirit had arrived in Allah before our dying. What had happened? At the 3rd stage, wehad wished to reach Allah. Allahß Tealhad granted us 12 favors (ihsan). He hadmanifested Himself over us with His Nameof All-compassionate (Er-rahm). He hadtaken out the hidden barrier (hicb-mestßre = invisible veil) on our eyes, thecovering on our sight, the heaviness(vakr) in our ears, the seal on our hearing, the coverings (ekinnet) on our(souls) heart, the seal on our (souls)heart, had put ihbat instead of ekinnet.
He had reached our (souls) heart. He hadturned the light door of our (souls) heart toHimself. He had slit a light way from ourbreast to our heart. He had made us reachhushu (a feeling of awe) and shown us ourmurshid. We had taken the first step. Whathad we done? We had wished to reachAllah. If we had not wished, none of thesewould have been realized. Whoever wishesto reach Allah, only in them can theprocesses I have mentioned occur. Ourspirit had left our physical body after wehad reached our murshid and depended onhim, our soul had begun to be purified. Ourphysical body had begun to be deliveredfrom being a servant of Satan and to be aservant to Allah to the extent of the virtuesconstituted in our souls heart.
It is thus that an accumulation of 7

times 7% of virtues had been realized inour souls heart. Our spirit too had ascended to one further heavenly floor witheach accumulation of 7% of virtues, hadreached Allah after having surpassed the 7heavenly floors. The 21st stage has beencompleted here. And what was the guidance of our spirit? Let us consider the73th verse of ´l-Imrn Sura: innel hudhudallh inne most surely, elhudthe Guidance hudallh (is) to reachAllah; the 120th verse of Al-Baqarah Sura:inne hudllhi huvel hud Most surelyreaching Allah: that is the Guidance. So,our spirit has reached Allah, has attainedto guidance. Allah has caused our spirit toreach Himself as we have wished to reachAllah. If our spirit reaches Allah, what happens to him? He (the spirit) is annihilated in the Essence of Allah. What
was the particularity of the person who hadmade his spirit reach Allah before hisdeath? It was to be possessed of hushu (afeeling of awe). What sort of belief was thebelief of those who were possessed ofhushu? The 46th verse of Al-Baqarah Suradefines it: Ellezne yezunnßne ennehummulku rabbihim ve ennehum ileyhircißn(rcißne). They know with certaintythat they will most surely meet their Lord(they will reach Allah spiritually beforedeath, that is, they will absolutely maketheir spirits reach Allah before death) andthat they most surely return to Him, that is,their spirits will also return to Allah afterdeath. And the spirit has reached Allah. We have come to the 21st stage. Here isthe Station of Annihilation = Fenfillah,Fen f Allah, to be annihilated in Allah.Allahß Teal says:
55/Ar-Rahmn 26, 27:Kullu men aleyh fn(in), ve yebkvechu rabbike zul celli vel ikrm(ikr-mi).Everyone on it shall pass away; and theFace (the Essence, the Person) of yourLord of Majesty and Honor will endure forever.
What was the state of our spirit thatcame from Allah before its (his) being sentto us? He (It) was in the Essence (Person)of Allah and is returning now to the Placeto which he belonged, to the Essence (Person, Zt) of Allah.
Dear readers! The spirit returns tothe Essence (Person) of Allah that is hisreal Place. He had come from theEssence of Allah, the Place where he
157 158 159
should return was there and he returned tothe Place to which he belonged. Now, dearreaders! Our spirits being annihilated inthe Essence (Person, Zt) of Allah: Here isthe 22nd Stage. After the 21st stage, the22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28th stages form7 stages: The last 7 stages of the 28stages. Allahß Teal describes this Annihilation in the Essence (Person, Zt)of Allah as holding fast to Allah or astaking shelter in Him. Allahß Teal saysin the 39th verse of An-Naba’ Sura:
Zlikel yevmul hakk(hakku), femen et-tehaze il rabbih meb(meben). That is the Day of the Truth, so whoever desiresmay take refuge with his Lord [That is the Day ofthe Truth.] The one who wishes (to reach Allah) takes for himself theStraight Path (leading him to Allah) as a Way.
Whose spirit reaches Him, theEssence of Allah becomes a Refuge (aShelter, meb) for that persons spirit]. Andthus the spirit has taken refuge with hisLord. Allahß Teal names evvb thosewho have taken refuge with Him. Evvbmeans those who have returned to Allah, have been annihilated in the Essence (Person, Zt) of Allah, have taken refuge(shelter) with Allah. Allahß Teal (God theMost Exalted) decrees so in the 175thverse of An-Nis’ Sura:
Fe emmellezne menß billhi vatesamßbih fe se yudhluhum f rahmetin minhuve fadln ve yehdhim ileyhi srtanmustekm(mustekmen). Then as for those who are menß to Allah(believe in Allah) and wish to hold fast toHim: He will cause them to enter into His
mercy and virtue (grace) and cause themto reach a Straight Path (leading them) toHimself.
Dear readers, my intimate friends,my cordial friends! Thus, when we consider our relations with Allah, we seethat it is necessary for our spirit that is aTrust from Allah to reach Him, to return toHim and we have realized this at the third7 stages, we are the Possessors of theStation of the Annihilation. Our spirit hasannihilated in the Essence (Zt) of Allah, has attained to the Refuge, has taken shelter in Him. Allahß Teal says in the14th verse of ´l-Imrn:
vallhu ndehu husnul meb(mebi)And Allah is the Best (Most Beautiful)Refuge in His Proximity (Immediacy). [The
160 161 162
Best (Most Beautiful) Shelter in the DivineImmediacy (Proximity) is the Essence ofAllah].
And we attain to the Refuge. Ourspirit reaches Allah, takes refuge with Him.A process of holding fast to Allah is completed. Here is the Station of the Annihilation. Thereafter we do more zikir. When we do much more zikir, the lights inour souls heart increase and when theselights amount to 61%, (when our spirit hadreached Allah, these lights were at the rateof 51%, at the station of the Annihilation, this amounts to 61%) Allahß Teal grantsus a throne, a golden throne. On that endless expanse where the Presenceprayer is performed, you will see the golden thrones 30-40 meters ahead of theImam of the Presence Prayer on the left
side, beginning at the height of 4 metersfrom the Ground. The thrones at the lowestrow are of unalloyed gold. All the thronesthere are of pure gold. But beginning fromthe second row, the thrones begin to beencrusted with jewels. The more we rise, the more we see the thrones decoratedwith jewels. The uppermost golden thronesare completely encrusted with jewels. Andthere, there is a standard named the Standard of Praise on a throne at the top-most point.
So, dear readers, dear brothers andsisters, my intimate friends, my cordialfriends! We offer endless thanks and praises to Allah that He enables us to converse with you, gives us the opportunity to relate to you that which Hehas been showing us. Wherever you may
be now, we are in the room, in the drawing-room in which you are. Wherever you are,we are there, my dear brothers and sisters!Allahß Teal has not been showing us allthese in order to show them only to us. It isessential that we may relate them to you.We are charged with absolutely conveyingto you that which Allah has commanded usto make known to you. Now, one of thosegolden thrones is given to the person.Allahß Teal says in the 127th verse of Al-An’m Sura:
Lehum drus selmi inde rabbihim vehuve veliyyuhum bim knßyamelßn(yamelßne). For them there is an Abode of Peace(golden thrones) with (in the Proximity of)their Lord, and He is their (protecting)Friend because of what they did.
163 164 165
Those golden thrones in the DivineProximity (Ind-i lh) are within the standards we have described and you domuch more zikir. The lights in your soulsheart increase more than 61%. When yourzikir surpasses half of the day, that is,when you do zikir more than 12 hours in aday, then you will become an ascetic(zhid). You who are the possessor of thegolden throne in the Divine Proximity willbecome an ascetic (zhid) Because youare giving preference to Allah and to immaterial eminence. This lowly worldremains in the second order for you as youdo zikir more than 12 hours in a day. So,you are turned henceforth not to the worldbut to Allah. You live for Allah much morethan for the world. Now, you are the onewho has been living for Allah, the one proving that you have been living so. By
doing more zikir than 12 hours in a day,you have been proving this to Him, toAllahß Teal. Asceticism is announced soin the 20th verse of Yusßf Sura:
Ve erevhu bi semenin bahsin derhimemadßdeh(madßdetin), ve knß fhiminez zhidn(zhidne). And they sold him for a small price, a fewpieces of silver, and they attached no valueto him (his brothers were zhid towardsJoseph).
When you attach no value to thislowly world, when the treasures of Allah, immaterial blessings gain priority for you, they come before all other things, the worldcomes after them, then you will be anascetic (zhid). Dear readers! What happens then? When you reach such a
state, what happens? My dear brothersand sisters! There, in your relations withAllah, in the Presence of Allah, you are aman more turned to Allah than to the world. For this reason, you are the possessor ofthe Station of the Asceticism (Zuhd) andyou have been increasing your zikir. Thelights in your souls heart have amountedto 71% beginning from the day when youhave attained to a zikir continuing morethan half of the day. 69% of virtues, 2% ofmercy have been formed. Afterwards, youdo much more zikir and the lights in yoursouls heart attain from 71% to 81%. Howdo you understand that it is so? At thatpoint, your physical body assumes a quality that fulfills all the commands ofAllah and never commits that which He hasforbidden. If so, let us look at that point:Why is it so? The souls heart has been
166 167 168
filled with virtues, 19% of darknesses haveremained. The spirits heart is covered with100% of lights, not with virtues but withgood qualities (haslets), that is, your spiritpossesses 100% properties that obey allthe commands of Allah and never commitany actions that He has forbidden. Yoursouls heart too obeys all the commands ofAllah does not commit the actions He hasforbidden at the rate of 81%. That is to say,181 in 200 of your content wishes to obeyall the commands of Allah and not to commit the actions forbidden by Him. 19 in200 still remains, that is, 10%, and yourphysical body never takes them into consideration. No matter whether they maybe present or not, they may object or not, they may do whatever they desire. Thephysical body begins henceforth to obey allthe commands of Allah and never to
commit any actions He has forbidden. Hereis the place where your physical body hassurrendered to Allah. Have you attained tocontinuous zikir? No, not yet. There arestill 19% of darknesses in your soulsheart. But your zikir increases each pass-ing day. You have already begun to do zikirmore than half of the day. You areapproaching now step by step continuouszikir. Allahß Teal decrees so in the 125thverse of An-Nis’ Sura:
Ve men ahsenu dnen mimmen eslemevechehu lillhi ve huve muhsinun vette-bea millete ibrhme hanf(hanfen),vettehazallhu ibrhme hall(hallen). And who can be better in Religion than hewho surrenders himself (his physical body, vech) to Allah? And he is the doer ofgood (muhsin) and depends on the religion
(way, faith, millet) of Abraham, theupright one (hanf), and Allah took Abraham (brhm) as a friend.
So, dear readers, my intimatefriends, my cordial friends, my belovedbrothers and sisters! Here is the pointwhere you have surrendered your physicalbody to Allah and you are given the nameof muhsin (the doer of good) by Allah:The 25th stage. You are remaining withthat much? No, you have approached continuous zikir. One day, you will attain tocontinuous zikir. Whenever you are possessed of continuous zikir, you arenamed lßl elbb. Who are lßlelbb? Let us have a look at the 190 and191 verses of ´l-Imrn Sura:
li ull elbb(ull elbb). Ellezne
169 170 171
yezkurßnallhe kymen ve kußden veal cunßbihim...Those who remember (repeat the Nameof) Allah standing and sitting and lying ontheir sides
What does Allah mean by the expression of lying on their sides? Youhave made up your bed so that you takethe kiblah (the direction of Mecca) on yourright side and you are in bed on your sideand you sleep turning to your right side. What happened? Your right ear is on yourpillow. You move your ear a little to theright and to the left until you begin to sensethe beating of your heart because of thepression on your ear. When it is so, you willrecite the ´yetel Kurs (the CelebratedThrone Verse, 2/Al-Baqarah-255) threetimes successively. You will begin to repeat
the Name of Allah successively, inwardlywith your silent voice: Al-lah, Al-lah, Al-lah.But not like I have been now repeatingloudly, with the voice of your heart, withyour inner voice, with your silent voice. Now, my dear brothers and sisters, afteryour physical bodys surrender to Allah, noso much time passes any longer. Onemorning, you will wake up and see that youfind yourself doing zikir. That is to say, youhave passed all the night with zikir. Therewill be some omissions during a few days, later, you see again that you will wake upwhile doing zikir and after a short period oftime, from this point on, there will not beany more mornings in which you will notwake up this way. Every morning you willsee that you will wake up while doing zikirand you will control yourself during thedaytime whether you are in continuous
zikir or not. Have you been hearing eachinstant your inner silent voice? In thatcase, that is all right. Your inner silentvoice will continue to repeat in your innerworld: Al-lah, Al-lah, Al-lah Now, you arethere where you have attained to continuous zikir. Your name is ßlßl elbb.Who are ßlßl elbb? Those who vie witheach other in goodness. lßl elbb are thepossessors of continuous zikir. lßl elbbare the possessors of wisdom. Theyremember (repeat the Name of) Allah whilestanding and sitting and lying on theirsides. At the same time, certainty at thedegree of knowledge (lmel yakn) hasbeen definitely completed for that person. He has stepped into certainty at thedegree of witnessing (aynel yakn). Thatis to say, from now on, that person willjudge (decide) by seeing with his hearts
172 173 174
eye. The fact that that person will gain fourseparate contents belonging to the fourstations of wisdom at the new point he hasattained is in question.
So, my dear brothers and sisters! The first characteristic of this person isthis, that he is the possessor of continuouszikir. An uninterrupted zikir is with him.Zikir never quits him. Your inner voice follows strictly the double beating of yourheart. If it is accelerated, it too gainsspeed. If it beats normally, this voice alsoregains its normal speed. But take heed:when you have attained to such a point, you will notice parallelism of your voicewith your heart, which will please you tothe utmost degree. You will love Allah verymuch, praise him very much. Henceforth, you are the possessor of continuous zikir
throughout your lifetime. The first charac-teristic of those who are ßlßl elbb istheir being the possessors of continuouszikir. Their second characteristic is this, that all the vices in their souls hearts havebeen annihilated. 2% of mercy and 98% ofvirtues have accumulated around the wordof Faith in the souls heart. As a whole, the(souls) heart is solely constituted of theselights. They possess a particularity that fulfill all the commands of Allah and nevercommit any actions He has forbidden, whether they may be mercy or virtues. Thegood qualities in the spirit (s heart) toohave the same characteristic. Both thespirit (s heart) and the soul (s heart) possess a particularity that fulfill 100% allthe commands of Allah and never commitany actions forbidden by Him.
So, dear readers! Here is the finalpoint. The place where all the vices in thesouls heart have completely vanished.Well, these are the two peculiarities. Whatis the third peculiarity? The third peculiarity is this, that Allahß Tealabsolutely opens the hearts eye of thatperson and his hearts ear. That is to say,Allah begins to show him that whichbelongs to the Unseen by means of hishearts eye. He explains to that hearts earthe content of the things He has shownhim. Thus, He says to the hearts ear onwhich sacred verse of the Quran, on whichverse of which Sura that which He has saidis based. Allah has thus been his Teacher. He teaches him the Unseen(Gayb). That is, He both teaches him thethings that the men are unable to see physically and the verses of the Quran
175 176 177
related to them.
Dear readers, my beloved brothersand sisters! Where are we arriving so? Thesouls heart of that person is completelyfilled with 98% of virtues and 2% of mercy. No vices have remained therein. That is,all the spheres of influence of Satan areannihilated. Satan cannot cause that person to make the least mistake. He doesnot give up but it is not possible for him tosucceed. He is defeated all the time. However, he goes on (trying to influencethe person). Well, why is this person thepossessor of wisdom? These four basicproperties make that person acquire threeconditions of attribute:
1. Condition of attribute: That person has been the possessor of deliberation (ehl-i tezekkur)
2. Condition of attribute: He hasbeen the possessor of goodness (ehl-ihayr)
3. Condition of attribute: He hasbeen the possessor of judgement (hkm)or the possessor of wisdom (hikmet)
What does ehl-i tezekkr mean? The possessor of deliberation (ehl-itezekkr) means both the possessor ofzikir (remembrance) and the one who isauthorized to speak about some matterswith Allah. That person can speak withAllah. He relates the matters to other people by learning them from Allah. Heasks questions to Allahß Teal. He deliberate the allegorical verses with Allah,to learn them from Him. Allahß Teal saysin the 7th verse of ´l-Imrn Sura:
He it is Who has sent down the Book (theQuran) to you; some of its verses are deci-sive (precise and clear in meaning, self-explanatory) they are the Mother of theBook, and others are allegorical (their liter-al meaning is not readily apparent); thenas for those with a swerving in their(souls) hearts, they pursue the part of itwhich is allegorical, seeking to mislead(others) and seeking to give it (their own)interpretation, but none knows its interpre-tation except Allah, and those who arefirmly rooted (grounded) in knowledge say:We believe in it; The whole of it (clear andunclear verses) are from our Lord, Butnone can deliberate except ßlßl elbab.
Then, who are those who are firmlygrounded in knowledge? They are thosewhose spirits are disappeared (annihilated)
178 179 180
in the Essence of Allah, who have obtainedeach a golden throne in the Proximity oftheir Lord, who are possessed ofAsceticism (Zuhd), who have surrenderedtheir physical bodies to Allah. They arethose who have not attained yet to theStation of Wisdom. They are those who areon the bridge between ilmel yakin (=Certainty at the degree of knowledge, closeness through knowledge) and aynelyakin (= Certainty at the degree of wit-nessing, closeness through witnessing). Those are the men who will not fall into thetrap where those who have a versality intheir (souls) hearts would make them fall. The eyes of the (souls) hearts may beopened, the ears of their (souls) heartsalso may be opened. But, they are not yetauthorized to deliberate (matters) withAllah. If they had been authorized to delib-
erate them with Him, they could have delib-erated them with Him in any case. Then, rsihßn (= Those who are firmly rooted inknowledge) are those who are on thebridge between ilmel yakin and aynelyakin. They have a firmly grounded knowl-edge. Their zikir goes as far as 80%,However, they could not attain to the con-tinuous zikir yet. They are sure of Allahand they are certain that He has verses,Why this level of aynel yakin is sonamed? Because the person has beenseeing with the eye of his (souls) heart. Hehas been the owner of the Belief throughVerification. The beginning of the verifiedBelief is the shiver (shaking) that Allah hasgranted to the person. After this, there isthe deliberation (tezekkur) with Allahbeyond this shaking (tremble). The verifiedBelief increases with each passing day
with the opening of the souls heart byAllah. That person is possessed of zikirand of tezekkur at the same time. Theothers ask him some questions and heasks them to Allah. Allahß Tealannounces these kinds of owners of delib-eration (ehlez zikri) in the 7th verse of theAl-Anbiy’ Sura: And We sent not beforeyou but men to whom We revealed. So askthe people of the Reminder (the owners ofcontinuous zikir the owners of the divinemysteries) if you do not know.
This means; Let the men ask questions so that We give them theiranswers. The Station of ßlßl elbb is thestation where you attain to continuouszikir. This makes you not only the owner ofthe deliberation (ehl-i tezekkur) which isthe first condition of attribute but also the
181 182 183
owner of good (ehl-i hayr) which is thesecond condition of attribute.
Why? Because you have been theowner of continuous zikir. You absolutelygain degrees in each instant of your l ifetime because of your zikir. Allahdeclares: He grants the Wisdom to whomHe pleases, and he to whom the Wisdom(Hikmet) is granted is indeed grantedabundant good. But none remembers(deliberates) except the owners of thedivine mysteries). That person who is theowner of good is at the same time theowner of the Wisdom (Hikmet), of theJudgement (Hukum). No matter at whatverse he may look, on a stairway of 28steps, on an Islamic stairway, if this verseis related to these steps, he knows definitely and at once to what step that
verse is related. The owner of the Wisdomis trained and instructed by Allahß Teal. They are excellent arbitrators and excellent judges. In reality, the justice isdistributed by them, because they alwaysdecide by asking Allah about arguments tobe decided.
So, dear readers! The person hasbeen here the possessor of wisdom at theStation of ßlul elbb. Allahß Teal showsthe secrets of the Main Dervish Convent ofthe Ground Floor to your hearts eye that isopened. This means that your (souls)heart that has attained to continuous zikiris ornated (embellished) at the first level. You see the secrets of the Ground Floor. You see what happens in the main Dervishconvent, what exists therein, where theGolden Portal is, where a pile of golden
pieces is to be found, what this ImmaterialConvent contains. You see there the mensspirits lined up by tens. There are low-reading desks in front of them and theNoble Qurans on them. The first verticalroad that constitutes the second part of theStraight Path (Srt- Mustakm) is namedthe Straight Road (Tark- Mustakm). Youenter the Straight Road through a GoldenPortal, you see that Golden Portal there, too. After the peculiarities of this MainDervish Convent is made to show you, thefirst heavenly Floor (Layer) will be shownyou. Then, the Station of ßlul elbb ends. The Sainthood has 7 stations. The fourth 7stages comprise these 7 stations. The firstis the station of Annihilation (FenMakam). We have related it. The secondis the Station of Everlastingness (BekMakam). We have related it. The Station
184 185 186
of Annihilation is the station where thespirit takes refuge in Allah, is annihilated inthe Essence (Zt, Person) of Allah. TheStation of Everlastingness is the station inwhich a golden throne is granted to theperson. The Station of Asceticism is thestation where the persons zikir surpasseshalf of the day. The Station of the Doers ofGood (Muhsins) is the station where theperson surrenders his physical body (Vech)to Allah. 14 centuries ago, all the Companions had attained to all these sta-tions. Afterwards, my dear brothers andsisters, after the surrender of the physicalbody, the person becomes ßlul elbb, becomes the owner of lubbs. Lubbs arethe treasuries of the Divine Secrets. Thedoors of the transphysical worlds you cannot perceive by means of the five senses are opened to you one by one. You
hear and see with the senses beyond yourfive senses, with your hearts eye and ear.You are already the possessor of wisdomand of the certainty at the degree of witnessing. Your faith by verification(investigation) has been strengthenedthanks to your hearts eye. What happensthereafter? Allahß Teal shows you thefirst heavenly floor, later, the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh heavenly floorsin succession. Whoever sees the seventhheavenly floor, he will also see that thereare seven Worlds there. Allahß Tealshows him all these seven worlds. Theseventh World is the Divine Proximity (Ind-i lh). The Divine Proximity is the DivinePresence. It is the Place where thePresence Prayer is performed. It is thePlace where the golden thrones are sus-pended in an empty space (void, vacuum).
And Allahß Teal shows it (to the persons spirit). The topmost point there is theFarthest Lote-Tree (Sidretul Munteh), atree at the highest point. Whenever AllahßTeal shows the Farthest Lote-tree to theperson, then he has completed the Stationof Utter Purity (Ihls), too.
Allahß Teal says in the 5th verse ofBeyyine Sura:
Ve m umirß ill li yabudßllhe muh-lisne lehud dne hunefe ve yukmßssalte ve yutßz zekte ve zlike dnulkayyimeh(kayyimeti). And they were not enjoined anythingexcept that they should serve Allah (beservants to Allah) being utter pure in HisReligion (and realize this) as upright ones, hanfs, [who make their souls ( hearts)
187 189 190
utterly pure for Allahs Religion].
When Allahß Teal shows him theFarthest Lote-tree, he has surrendered hissoul also to Allah and is invited to the Irrevocable Repentance (Tvbe-i Nasßh)by Him. The Irrevocable Repentance indicates that the Station of Utter Purityhas ended and the Station of Improvement(Salh Makam) begins. The Station ofImprovement is the seventh station of theSainthood and the 28th stage. The firstlevel (rank) of the Station of Improvementis the Invitation to the Irrevocable Repentance. What Allahß Teal says isrepeated one by one and Allahß Tealmakes the person reach the standardswhere the Irrevocable Repentance is realizable. How does He show him that hehas gone further? The person learns this
because Allahß Teal makes known to himthat his sins have been covered after hisIrrevocable Repentance. Later on, AllahßTeal will grant him a Light. The Light ofImprovement. It seems to be a cloud, but inreality, it is a light. However, it is not a verybright, shining light. What will Allahß Tealdo later? He will transform his sins intorewards at the fourth level. These eventsoccur according to the 8th verse of TahrimSura and the person attain to irshad(immaterial maturity). His (souls) hearthas been ornated 7 degrees at the Stationof ßlßl elbb, 7 degrees at the Station ofUtter Purity (hls) and 4 degrees at theStation of Improvement (Salh). That person has come to a position to surrenderhis free will to Allah.
Allahß Teal decrees so in the 102 verse of´l-Imrn Sura:
Y eyyuhellezne menßttekullhe hakkatuktih ve l temßtunne ill ve entummuslimßn(muslimßne).O you who are menß (who wish to reachAllah spiritually before death and to surrender to Him)! Have takv towardsAllah with a true takva [Be careful of yourduty to) Allah with the care which is due toHim] and do not die unless you are Muslims (unless you are submitted to Him,unless you fulfill your four surrenders, thatis, the surrenders of your spirit, your physical body, your soul and your free will).
The personage who has attained tosuch a point is the one the free will ofwhom Allah has connected (bound) to
191 192 193
Himself and he has surrendered (to Him)with a total surrender. From this point on,the person will not decide any more withhis own free will. It is Allah who will decideand he will learn these decisions fromAllah and put them into effect. His free willis tied (connected) to the Will of Allah.Allahß Teal makes the person the ownerof the Post of Irshad by the phrase: Youare ordered and authorized to (lead mento) Irshad. Who are there beyond thisPost? There are the messengers in all thenations: The 6th rank. Who is there beyondthem? The Imam (Religious Leader) ofthe Era: The 7th rank.
Behold, my dear brothers and sisters!all these men will go into the Gardens ofEden. That is to say, those who occupy the5, 6 and 7th ranks of the Station of
Improvement, in other words, those whoare ordered and authorized by Allahß Tealto Irshad, all the messengers in all thenations and the Imam of the Era. Here, VelAsr Sura is completed.
Eßzbillehimineeytnirracm. BismillhirrahmnirrahmI take refuge with Allah from Satan theRejected. In the Name of Allah, the All-Mercifull, the All-Compassionate.
Vel asr(asri).I swear by the Time.
nnel insne le f husr(husrin).Mankind is in (utter) loss.
llellezne menßExcept those who are menß.
Ve amilßs slihti. And (except) those who do improvingdeeds [and (except) those who have begunto improve the soul (s heart)]
Ve tevsav bil hakk(hakk). And (except) those who recommend (others, each other) to the Truth (Hakk,Allah) by having already reached Him
Ve tevsav bis sabr(sabr). And (except) those who recommend(others, each other) to Patience (thepossessors of the Stations of ßlul elbb,Ihls and Salh.
My beloved brothers and sisters, yousee that, Vel Asr Sura has contained the28 stages of the whole Quran. We want tocomplete, God willing, our words here with
194 195 196
our prayers that Allah may make all of youreach both the Bliss of Paradise and theworldly happiness, dear readers, my intimate friends, my cordial friends. MayAllah be pleased with all of you.
El-Fatih together with the Benedictions
Peace be upon you and Allahs mercy andHis benedicitions.
