Project Details – SEM & POD Manual/ReportWhat I Accomplished

Tracked procedures of RGR SEM/POD process Enabled oversight into unwritten knowledge of

assembly procedures Researched standards and industry guidelines

we do and do not abide by Constructed report that included all findings and

conclusions from observations Investigated SEM cover corrosion and cathodic

protection system (CamSERV)

Problem Solving No manual for new production SEM’s to reference Most electronics and POD procedures occur from memory

Project DetailsWhat I Learned

The need for uniformity− Easy to understand− Standardized & common practices− Continuity between procedures− Identify gaps in procedural understanding

How Project Added Value To Cameron Will increase understanding of key procedures Function as a tool to provide customers Created awareness & insight for issues to be solved

Key Stakeholders Assemblers/Technicians, improved consistency RGR Department, clearer procedures

What I Learned SAP Optimus & OnBase Manufacturing & Assembly Processes (Six Sigma) Workflow with a Chain-of-Command How to fit into the corporate structure

Takeaways− Do not be afraid to ask questions, people usually want to help if they are able to− Every person is different, meaning no two procedures are identical− Understand the logic behind the process, it will make it much clearer

Ah-Ha Moments− Get to know people - they will want to assist you later− Understanding the procedure prior to starting will drastically improve clarity
