Interview Guide
Vanessa’s values are mostly in freedom but your target values are mostly in relations. This means her values are not opposite to yours, but they are not the same either. Depending on how she interprets her values, she could still be a good fit. You need to use the interview to discover how much Vanessa’s values might conflict with your target values - these questions are designed to help you do that.
Question 1: What is your preferred work style? Do you prefer working alone or as part of a team? What percentage of your time would you allocate to each, given the choice?
Question 2: Think about a time when you felt like you were in the wrong team at work. What made this difficult? How did you react?
Interpreting the answers If the candidate genuinely appears to work well with others in achieving shared goals, and sees that other people can help them achieve their primary ambition to be stimulated by their work, then this should work out. Watch out for answers that indicate they feel others are a brake on them as this is likely to indicate prioritising their own autonomy over the interests of the team which would be a poor fit with your target values.
