1.0 Browser Settings
The ValGenesis application will be accessed through Internet Explorer (IE). Below are the configurations for IE.
1.1 IE Security Settings
1.1.1 Open Internet Explorer.
1.1.2 Go to Menu Bar in IE, click on Tools menu and Select Internet Options as illustrated below.

1.1.3 Go to Security Tab, Select Trusted Sites

1.1.4 Click the button “Sites” to add the ValGenesis URL to the trusted site list.
1.1.5 Add the relevant site to the trusted site list as illustrated below. Please note that if the site added has prefix as https:// then Require server verification (https:// for all sites in this zone field must be unchecked at the bottom of the same window.

1.1.6 Click the button “Custom level” for the Trusted Sites zone and edit the settings

1.1.7 Highlighted settings should be set to Disable

Highlighted ActiveX Control Settings should be set to either Prompt or Enable. The remaining settings would be set by default.

Select ‘Enable’ option for “Allow Programmatic clipboard access”
1.1.8 Click "OK" button to confirm settings.

2.0 ActiveX Installation
Once ActiveX settings have been configured on the client computer, the ValGenesis ActiveX controls can be installed. Below are the procedures to install the ValGenesis ActiveX controls.
2.1.1 Open Internet Explorer and enter the ValGenesis application URL. When the application is accessed for the first time, the user will be prompted to install an ActiveX control.
Click Install button on the pop up at the bottom of the window as shown below.

2.1.2 A pop up window will be displayed regarding installing the ActiveX component as illustrated below. Click on the More Options button. An additional set of options will be displayed. Select the Always install software from “ValGenesis, Inc” option. Click Install to continue.

2.1.3 Now, Internet Explorer will allow you to login to ValGenesis Application.

2.1.4 To confirm the ActiveX installation, navigate to C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files folder through Windows Explorer. Following files should be available in the folder:
EXCEL.EXE
valgenutil.inf
valgenutil.ocx
