Maya Institute of Management and Technology

1. Workshop on Smart Hydro Power

On 1st Oct 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized workshop on “Smart Hydro Power” by Civil Department. Workshop was taken by Asst. Prof. Mrs. Neha Chauhan.

This is true for everybody - but especially true for remote areas beyond the reach of the electrical grid. For people in these areas, electricity has to be supplied by either massive extensions to the grids themselves or by decentralized, or “island” systems – often these come in the form of a diesel generator. Smart Hydro Power offers an alternative to both uneconomic extensions of the public grid – often through pristine and beautiful landscapes – and throbbing diesel generators. In other, less remote locations, people may have access to a public grid, however for a variety of reasons this may prove unreliable. In such cases the damage of disruption can be very high – not just in immediate economic terms for individuals, but also in the ability for these people to plan their very lives. Securing a dependable source of power is itself vitally important. With flowing water on the doorstep, and Smart Hydro Powers simple system, this very quickly becomes a reality. During this Faculty Development Program in Maya Group of Colleges, Vice-Chairman said “The two most abundant forms of power on earth are solar and wind, and they're getting cheaper and cheaper….” On this occasion Director (admin), Senior Faculties and Faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were present.

Unfortunately, corruption is widespread in government agencies and public enterprises. Our political system promotes nepotism and wasting money. This has undermined our legal system and confidence in the functioning of the state. One of the consequences is that many citizens don't pay their taxes.” On this occasion, Chairman Mr. M.L. Juyal said “People used to think that more population was bad for growth. In this view, people are stomachs - they eat, leaving less for everyone else. But once we realize the importance of ideas in the economy, people become brain - they innovate, creating more for everyone else.” On this occasion Directors, Senior Faculties and faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were present.
