After unboxing MAD Gaze Ares smartglass, charge for at least 6 hours before use. Aligning the charger metal connection point with the one on MAD Gaze main body. After ensuring the two points are aligned, gently connect them together. When the HUD screen is on, the device will start charging.

4.1 This product is equipped with a built-in battery, users should not replace it by themselves. Unauthorized replacement or attempt in forcing the product to open will void the product warranty and might lead to safety hazards. The device contains no user-serviceable parts.

4.2 Contact the Customer Services Department of our company at [email protected] for repairing services if necessary.

4.3 Please charge according to the instructions stated in the guide.

The two icons at the top-left corner of MAD Gaze Ares main interface are, from left to right, Voice Command and Live-stream. When the icon turns BLUE, the function that icon represents is activated. Prolonged function on will consume more energy, turn off the function if it is not in use.

Control - Tracking Ball Control

MAD Gaze Ares is equipped with an optical trackpad, this optical trackpad, consists of a substantial button and touch-sensitive panel. 5.1 Swiping or light touching on the surface of the panel can perform the function of ENTER, ESCAPE or DRAGGING. 5.2 Single click means (ENTER)5.3 Double click and swipe on the optical trackpad means DRAGGING.5.4 Extended press serves the (HOME) function of MAD Gaze Ares, press this button in any interface can back to main interface.

5.5 Double tap means (ESCAPE).

When you are at the main interface and the voice command mode is on, you can voice out the application name to activate the installed application. (E.g. photo, video, live, connector, setting, translate, chatting, album, GPS, etc.) If you are in a noisy environment, voice recognition might be affected, you may wish to use the optical trackpad, to check up and click on the icon on the application list. The voice input function can only be adopted in the main interface, it will automatically be disabled when entering the application interface.

7You can download the MAD Gaze Connector Android app via any of the following methods:

7.1 Scan the QR code in the user guide with any QR code scanner app, or access http://www.madgaze.com/ares/support with any smart phone browsers and download MAD Gaze Connector.

7.2 You may also download MAD Gaze Connector through any Android smartphone app platform.

8 First time using MAD Gaze Connector

8.1 Click “Register”.8.2 Fill in your email address.8.3 Enter and re-enter password .8.4 Fill in your username, first and last name.8.5 Click and choose your district in the pull down menu, then fill in your contact number.8.6 Fill in your date of birth.8.7 Click and choose your gender, default language and nationality.

*On finishing registration, you will receive an email for account activation in your mailbox.

8.1.1 Go and check the mailbox of the registered email.

8.4.1 Click on it and a MAD ID QR code will appear.

8.4.2 Scan the QR code with the Connector Scanner in MAD Gaze Ares.

8.4.3 Device login procedure completes.

*On finishing the device login procedure, the one-year warranty that comes with your smartglass will be automatically activated.

If you have more than one MAD Gaze smartglass, please repeat the above procedure for device login.

8.7 Remote Control Mode

8.7.1 Please ensure that MAD Gaze Ares is connecting with your phone by Bluetooth.

8.7.2 Choose “Remote Control Mode” in the main page of MAD Gaze Connector.

8.7.3 Tap the key on top right hand corner to switch between “Keyboard Mode” or “Mouse Mode”.

* In remote control mode, you can control the MAD Gaze Ares mouse cursor and keyboard with your phone.

MAD Gaze Ares will enter sleep mode in two conditions: First, when there is no operations and it idled for 15 seconds (Time can be adjusted in Setting); Second, when pressing the power button shortly.

To end the sleep mode, you can press the power button shortly, or the tracking ball, or voice out the wake-up cue “OK Mad Gaze” to awaken the system immediately.

10.1 We will provide an all-round Three Guarantees Service for your product according to “The Warranty Regulations of Three Guarantees” enacted by relevant authorities in the People’s Republic of China.

10.2 Warranty period will be counted from the day the product is activated, for one year.

10.3 Within 7 days after the product is activated, if the product is malfunctioned, you can either return or replace your product, or you may wish to have it repaired by an authorized maintenance service provider.

10.4 From the 8th to 30th day after the product is activated, if the product is malfunctioned, you can either replace your product, or you may have it repaired by an authorized maintenance service provider.

10.5 Within 1 year after the product is activated, if the product is malfunctioned, you can have it repaired by an authorized maintenance service provider.

10.6 From the 30th day to 1 year after the product is activated if the product is malfunctioned, and is still malfunctioning after repairing for twice, you can exchange for another device with same model number and specification for free, by providing the maintenance records.

Your warranty services are valid under normal usage/application only, the following conditions are excluded from the Three Guarantees and there will be reasonable charge for the warranty service:

11.1 The free maintenance period of the product has expired.

11.2 Mechanical failure due to application of fittings not recognized by our company.

11.3 Damage caused by disassembling the product by repairer who is unauthorized by our company.

11.4 Damage caused by failing to operate the product according to the manual, or incorrect/improper handling of the product.

11.5 Malfunction caused by improper use, maintenance or storage.

12.1 Use only the supplied USB cable. Using other USB cable may cause overheating, fire, explosion, failure or leakage.

12.2 Do not detach the power cable by coercive pulling.

12.3 Do not allow metal objects, flammable materials or other objects insert or fall into the power connector, power port or speaker it may cause short circuit and trigger fire or electric shock.

12.4 Some users might experience skin irritation or skin allergies with prolonged use of this product. If you notice any symptoms, please discontinue wearing or using the product. Continuous usage after symptoms subside might cause symptom reappearance. If the condition persist, please consult your doctor.

12.5 This product contains electronic equipment, improper use might result in injury.

12.27Please be aware of the surroundings when using this product in compact area.

12.28Continuous or prolonged wearing of product may affect vision.

12.29Vision of children (especially pre-school children) is still under development, they should not use this product.

12.30Do not allow children or animals to chew or swallow the equipment.

12.31Do not use this product if lights will cause you allergy or nausea. Otherwise, the symptoms may exacerbate.

12.32Person who has chronic eye disease should not use this product, otherwise, symptoms, including, but not limited to strabismus, amblyopia or anisometropia, may exacerbate.

12.33Take regular breaks when using this product. Prolonged viewing image may cause eye fatigue or discomfort, stop using and take rest. Stop using immediately if fatigue or discomfort

12.34 If problem or failure occurs, stop using this product immediately. Continue using this product may cause injury or induce nausea.

12.35 If this product is to be taken to regions which prohibit the use of electromagnetic wave, including, but not limited to planes, hospitals, the product should be turned off or having Bluetooth or wireless LAN functions disabled, according to the regional instructions. Do not use Bluetooth or wireless LAN functions near automatic control equipment, such as automatic doors or fire alarms. Disable the automatic power-on function before turning off this product. Electromagnetic wave may cause electromagnetic interference or failure to the medical equipment.

12.36Do not take this product into operating room, intensive care unit (ICU) or coronary care unit (CCU).

12.38Turn this product off or shut down the electromagnetic wave emission if there is electronic medical equipment nearby.

12.39Follow the medical regulations for prohibiting electromagnetic wave emitting equipment, these equipment is prohibited in special area.

12.40 If you are implanted with a pacemaker or defibrillator, keep this product with your implanted device at least 22cm away when using. Make sure no one with a pacemaker is near before using this product, turn off the product if you are in a crowded place.

12.41Turn this product off or shut down the electromagnetic wave emission on planes.

12.42Eliminate static electricity from your body before using this product. To avoid electrostatic disturbance, make use of small metal piece (e.g. keys), cotton wipe, or other applicable objects,

12.43The production and manufacture of this product is subject to the national specification of sales territory. If you use this product outside the country of sales, please contact the support centre.

12.44To use this product for application in high degree of functional reliability/safety and precision, for example, transport-related equipment such as aviation, railways, shipping, vehicle, disaster prevention equipment, safety equipment, you should consider including failure insurance and redundancy into your application to maintain safety and reliability of the whole system, before using this product.

12.45This product is not designed for application that requires extremely high reliability/safety, such as aviation equipment, main communication equipment, nuclear power control or medical equipment directly related to medical use. User should access
