MAD Gaze X5 Firmware Update Instruction

Caution: Firmware Update may replace files and applications installed

on MAD Gaze. We strongly recommend you to create a backup before

continue.

Preparation

1. Minimum 40% Battery Level of MAD Gaze

2. Download Update Pack

Update Pack includes

i. USB Driver – Mediatek_Driver

ii. Flash Rom Toolkit – SP_FlashTools

iii. ROM – Firmware

Steps

1. Extract and open "Mediatek-Drivers-Install.bat" in "Mediatek_Driver".

2. Press any keys to continue.

3. USB Driver has been successfully installed.

4. Turn MAD Gaze into BootLoader mode.

Method 1) Press Key C and D simultaneously for 5 seconds.

Method 2) Switch off MAD Gaze with Key D, and wait for 2-3 minutes

Caution: MAD Gaze shouldn't be connected to PC until this stage.

5. Open "flash_tool.exe" in "FlashTools".

6. Press "Download"

7. Press "Scatter-loading"

8. Select MT6735_Android_scatter.txt from decompressed folder "Firmware/vXX.X"

(e.g v22.0)

9. After configurations, the screen should look like this.

10. Press "Download"

11. Notice that MAD Gaze shouldn't connect to PC until this stage.

12. Now you can connect MAD Gaze to PC with USB.

13. Flashing Process should start automatically, displays as follow:

(If fails, please repeats procedures from Step 5 and ensure MAD Gaze is off already.)

14. Tick Symbol shows it has been updated successfully.

15. Now you can disconnect USB, and turn on MAD Gaze as usual.
