Preparation

Prepare a set with RF module in good condition to serve as Golden and a set with RF module to be tested as DUT.

Have the Golden and DUT images burn into these sets respectively.

Connect DUT to the computer and launch the terminal emulator (e.g. tera term). Note that only the DUT side needs to be controlled.

The RF module test program will run automatically once power on.

Modulation Selections

In the beginning, there are 3 selections:

(1)16 QAM

If 16 QAM is chosen, the following test will run by using 16QAM modulation

(2)QPSK

If QPSK is chosen, the following test will run by using QPSK modulation

(3)Exit

If the selection(3)Exit is chosen, the test program will be terminated.

Test functions

Whether 16 QAM or QPSK is selected, all the following test functions will be available.

Test functions

In this test program, there are 13 test functions available(1)Tx 2000 packets at 2400 MHz

(2)Tx 2000 packets at 2440 MHz

(3)Tx 2000 packets at 2479 MHz

(4)Rx 2000 packets at 2400 MHz

(5)Rx 2000 packets at 2440 MHz

(6)Rx 2000 packets at 2479 MHz

(7)Continuous Tx packets at 2400 MHz

(8)Continuous Tx packets at 2440 MHz

(9)Continuous Tx packets at 2479 MHz

(10)Continuous Tx single tone at 2400 MHz

(11)Continuous Tx single tone at 2440 MHz

(12)Continuous Tx single tone at 2479 MHz

(13)Continuous Rx

Test function (1)~(3)

In function (1)Tx 2000 packets at 2400 MHz

(2)Tx 2000 packets at 2440 MHz

(3)Tx 2000 packets at 2479 MHz

The DUT side will transmit 2,000 packets to the Golden side at 2400/2440/2479 MHz as desired.

Test function (4)~(6)

In function (4)Rx 2000 packets at 2400 MHz

(5)Rx 2000 packets at 2440 MHz

(6)Rx 2000 packets at 2479 MHz

The DUT side will receive 2,000 packets from the Golden side at 2400/2440/2479 MHz as desired.

The Result of test function (1)~(6)

The test result will be displayed on screen after the selected test function finishes

Default PER (Packet Error Rate) Criterion is 10%

[MP TEST]TEST PASS if the result is less than 10%

[MP TEST]TEST FAIL if the result is more than 10%

BER (Bit Error Rate) is the estimate based on PER.

Notes on Test function (1)~(6)

Make sure the Golden side has already been powered on because these 6 test functions need DUT and Golden communicating with each other.

Once the selected test function ends, the test program will return to the very beginning menu—16 QAM/QPSK/Exit selection.

Test function (7)~(13)

In function(7)Continuous Tx packets at 2400 MHz

(8)Continuous Tx packets at 2440 MHz

(9)Continuous Tx packets at 2479 MHz

(10)Continuous Tx single tone at 2400 MHz

(11)Continuous Tx single tone at 2440 MHz

(12)Continuous Tx single tone at 2479 MHz

The DUT side will continuously transmit packets/single tone at 2400/2440/2479 MHz as desired.

Test function (7)~(13)

In function(13)Continuous Rx

The DUT side will be set as RX mode but no packets will be received.

Test function (7)~(13)

Power setting is required in test function(7)~(13).

In test function(7)~(12), DUT will do transmit packets/single tone continuously after setting the power.

In test function(13), DUT will be in RX mode. Note that DUT will NOT receive any packet in this selection.

Notes on Test function (7)~(13)

The test function (7)~(13) are mainly used for measurement so that there is no test result available.

Also, Golden is unnecessary when executing these 7 functions.

Press the button on the demo board could terminate the transmission and return to the very begging menu—16 QAM/QPSK/Exit selection.
