Many of these transactions are for more “ad vanced” fun ctions than targeted in the scope of

this guidebook.

< Dangerous

These transactions are p otentially dam aging or fatal to the system if executed

incorrectly.

As a general ru le, most of the Basis transactions are potentially dam aging. Access to

these transactions shou ld be restricted in a ll systems. Access to some of these

transactions should be even further restricted in the produ ction system.

< Performance Impact

These transactions could h ave a p otentially adverse imp act to system p erformance if

executed . Traces and table display are th e transactions of concern here.

The problem with a table display occurs wh en the qu ery does a “full table scan” for d ata.

When d one on a large table, this query h as serious imp act on performan ce because the

system searches every record in the table to find th ose that meet th e search criteria.
