It's much easier to include the link in an email or Twitter post without it breaking or

taking up space.

How to shorten and track the link?

Open the website of bitly i.e www.bitly.com

Register with your email Id (it takes hardly any time).

You can shorten the links without registering. However, the benefits of registration

is that you can customize the links and also track them.

You can also log in using your Facebook account.

Screen shots in next slides will be helpful in understanding how to shorten the link

and how to track the clicks on those links.

Shorten the link WITHOUT registering on bitly:

Open the website of bitly i.e www.bitly.com

Enter the link in the white box

Click on ‘Shorten’ button and the link will become shorten as shown in the image

You can copy this link and share with anybody you like.

Benefits/use:

Many a time, you want to share a link on the internet with your employees or

professional colleagues but when you paste that link in your e-mail, it become very

distorted (refer slide no. 2). Bitly helps in shortening any link into a very small link.

The best usage of bitly is that it also helps you in analyzing the clicks on your link

from across the globe and the best part is that bitly shortened link never expires.
