The remaining funding will be used to deliver INSET on 3rd

November 2014. To invest further into “upskilling” our dedicated staff and supporting them so as to feel increasingly confident when delivering fundamentals and the new curriculum. This INSET will also focus on the ability of staff to include and to challenge our children.

Impact of the grant to date.As a result of this funding and our involvement in the Pennine Sports Partnership pupils have had many opportunities to participate in inter school competition, and all children have participated in intra school competition. (See attached calendar) We have a very active and successful School Sports Organising Crew who have planned and carried out events for the whole school. This helps to develop leadership skills with our Upper Key stage 2 pupils.

Every pupil has had access to two hours of high quality Physical Education delivered by and supported by specialists. These areas include:

Gymnastics Invasion Games

Outdoor and Adventurous Striking and Fielding DanceFrom the teaching of these areas alongside specialists staff have been able to not only develop their skills but focus on assessing the children’s ability and therefore they have a clearer picture of attainment in PE within their classes. This data is used to identify target children so additional support or opportunities can be provided. The school already had an extensive and balanced range of out of school clubs. However, this funding has enabled us to enhance these opportunities by providing lunchtime clubs to support, include and challenge target children. These lunchtime clubs have included:

Rugby (Years 3 and 4) Fitness for all Gymnastics (Years 1 and 2) OAA (Years 5 and 6) Running Club (Years 4 and 5)

We feel the Sports Premium Funding has assisted us in developing a lifelong love of sport with many children. It has allowed us to target key children to help them foster a growing confidence with physical education.
