Masking Tapes
A masking tape refers to pressure sensitive and adhesive tape made of thin paper, which can be easily torn.
Masking tape can be removed from the surface where it was applied without leaving residue on it. The strength of the adhesive tape depends on whether the tape is for home or industrial use.
Uses of Masking tape
Polyester based tapes can be useful in masking off during plating and etching.
Sandblasting and powder coating operations often use glass cloth tapes and powder coating tape.
Powder coating tape is also used in the masking off process.
Labeling of items–This is an inexpensive way of labeling items. The tape can be used to mark items like food containers, freezer bags and medicines to avoid confusion.
Party Decoration–Masking tapes have been used in the recent past to decorate parties. They are used to put up balloons and streamers. They come in different colors hence providing a wide variety of choice.

Kapton Tape
It is a high temp tape suitable for extremely high heat resistance applications like masking of printed circuit boards and powder coating.
It can withstand temperature up to 260 degrees Celsius. It is available in bronze color.
Silicone Tape
This is a special type of high temperature tape. It maintains a high tracking resistance due to its unique features like using non adhesive coating thus providing a non –contaminating surface. It works by fusing to itself then forms a permanent mass within 24 hours. It is available in both red and black.
Hi–Temp Crepe Tape
This kind of tape is suitable for most painting processes and masking operations.
It has an advantage of providing good line definition and can be easily removed from the surface.
Adhesive Tape
It is a high temperature tape used in the manufacturing and processing technology.
Aluminum Foil Tape
This is an adhesive tape on one side and a reflective aluminum foil on the other side.
Super Sealing Tape
This is a highly adhesive tape suitable for joining boards with uneven surfaces.
