COLUMBIA RIVER VISITOR PROGRAM• One and ½ day briefing on water management and related subjects. One ½ day visit to typical Lower Columbia River run-of-the-river project -- Bonneville Dam.

• Speakers from Corps, Bonneville Power Administration, National Weather Service, and Port of Portland.

• We have a few water management lessons learned to share:

Columbia River comparable to the Zambezi River (1, 950 km vs. Zambezi’s 2,740 km)

International (there are pluses and minuses)

We have had flooding problems (rain/snow –not tropical cyclones)

Projects operated for flood control, power, fish, navigation and other purposes. Many challenging issues.

• Learn from our experience; use the tools that work for you.

• We would be glad to help –where we can.
